YOU WANT TO SEE SOMETHING PRETTY

I am going to tell a funny story, and then I’ll just be giving mostly the links and sizing information. It was a long day today, and I didn’t get to start on the blog post until very late at night. At least you will find the story entertaining, or at least I did. Lol!

The first night that I arrived at my sister’s house, we had all just eaten dinner. I was still sitting at the table because I had started writing my blog post for the next day. I mentioned that I was trying to get up and walk around more because I sit so much at the computer. I am afraid that the circulation in my legs isn’t good, and I’ve noticed that when I get a bruise, it stays forever.

My sister was in the kitchen, and when I told her that, she started walking toward me. She said, “well, you want to see something pretty?” I looked up to see what she would show me, and she started to unbuckle her jeans. She must have seen the confusion in my eyes because she started to laugh. The next thing that I know, she had pulled down her jeans and was showing me this huge bruise on the inside of her thigh.

Apparently, she had gotten hit with a tennis ball the other day during her tennis match. But, the rest of the night, one of us would start giggling and say, “you want to see something pretty?” Lol!

Today’s look is a simple and easy look that you will wear each item a lot. The white button-down shirt is a summer essential item and one that everyone should have in their closet. You can dress them up or down, and you can layer them under jackets and cardigans. I am wearing a large, and I think that it fits me great.

Something is wrong with me! I’ve never liked the color Olive, and this year, I keep buying it. I love the color this year, and that has never happened before. I think this drawstring waist utility jacket is sharp, and I can see myself wearing this a lot this fall. A bunch of you must feel the same way because I put up a selfie on IG wearing this jacket, and I had a ton of people asking where I found it. I am wearing a large, and I think that the jacket runs true to size.

The medium-sized camel crossbody is another item that I love this year. I normally prefer a large handbag so that I can fill it to the brim with junk. However, this year seems to be different, and I find myself wanting smaller handbags. The crossbody style is perfect for when you need your hands free, and this camel color is going to be PERFECT this fall!

Even my sister liked the neutral espadrilles that I’ve been wearing a lot of lately. She has a hard time wearing high heels but can wear a wedge. The wedge shoe is the easiest to wear when it comes to high heels. It is more stable and doesn’t put as much pressure on the ball of your foot. This pair is from J. Crew Factory, and they run true to size.

I wore these Jag Jeans the other day (see here), but I wore them with a huge cuff. So today, I decided to wear them without the cuff so that you could see how they looked. I really love these jeans because they are sooooo comfortable. They are pull-on jeans, but you can’t tell that by looking at them. I am wearing my usual size 10, and they fit like a dream!

This is one of my fave looks on you! I also have become obsessed with olive. Your sister story is hilarious!

My husband and I are in northern Minnesota, almost on the Canadian border, with our kids and grands. We have no WiFi and very spotty cell service. So when I was finally able to read my email today, I was surprised and delighted to find I won the gift card! Thank you so much! It will be fun to go on a shopping spree when I get home.

  3. Love the jacket and the lookbook idea!

  4. I love the scenery and the story! I also love the jacket. For some reason I have been loving the olive color as well. I never loved it before. In fact I teased my sister once for wearing that color Bermuda shorts. 😉 I used to call them her mailman pants. Not sure why because mail carriers wear blue! Anyway, love the outfit and the scripture at the end! My favorite on my Mama’s birthday in heaven! <3

  5. I love the outfit. I think my “must have” item is light straight jeans. I’m so glad there are finally options that aren’t skinny!
I love the outfit ideas too, gives me a jumping off place. 🙂

  6. I think the color olive suits you. I find it looks great with black and navy. Aww sisters, something I’m envious of as I know they have that special bond.

  7. I’ve noticed lately that what is being called olive green looks more like a darker sage green to me and it is much more appealing than the dark olive of years ago which is not flattering on me at all.

  14. Ginger Hiller says:

I think I still have an olive jacket with a drawstring waist that I hardly ever wear because it’s not a great color for me. If I find it, I now have a great way to wear it. Since you said that the Hag jeans are pull on, I have to have them. Great story about you and your sister! I really like today’s scripture. Have a great day in GA, my home state. I lived in metro ATL for 60 years, but now live down in the south central part of the state.

  15. Kris Beardsworth says:

Love the look book idea. I’ve been wanting to do something similar with the clothes in my closet so I have an easy, quick reference when deciding what to wear that day. Keep them coming!

  16. Ever since I entered the contest I am no longer receiving my daily emails!!

    1. Carla, make sure to check your spam or junk folders. They randomly get thrown there. But, I’ll go in and refresh your email anyway.

  17. Totally love your outfits! Yesterday I really liked the white blazer with the navy and white palm leaf pants, but being retired, just did not need another dress up outfit. But today, this is a total YES!!! I have the pieces including the olive jacket, it’s been in closet over a year not knowing what to do with it, now I have an outfit. Thank you for sharing this, moving this picture to my pinterest board of outfits. Have a blessed day.

  18. 7/14–Love the look today! As a redhead I wear quite a bit of olive but I am not a button down shirt gal. BeIng larger busted, they are not in my closet.
