50 IS NOT OLD | WHETHER THE WEATHERThank goodness it is finally Friday. EVERYBODY just loves Friday! Those poor other days of the week must feel really unloved. Lol! It has been really nice here in Virginia lately. We have those pop-up showers that come in the afternoon, but they will usually clear out and leave you beautiful weather for the rest of the afternoon. 50 IS NOT OLD | WHETHER THE WEATHERI sat down to do my blog post, and was searching my brain for something to write about. I had my head in my hands and Joe asked what was wrong. I told him, and then he said, “Just write about the weather.” I think he was just throwing that out there, I don’t think he thought I could come up with anything to say that would be weather related. That man should know me well enough to know that I could talk (and talk) about anything! Lol!50 IS NOT OLD | WHETHER THE WEATHERAll kidding aside, it has been especially pretty though. The temperatures have been in the mid to high 80’s, but the humidity has been killer. Those little showers come through and then the sun comes back out. When that happens, it makes it hard to breathe, it is so sticky. This is hair frizzing weather!!! This reminds me of a saying that the kids used to say.

“Whether the weather be fine, Whether the weather be not, Whether the weather be cold, Whether the weather be hot, We’ll weather the weather, Whatever the whether, Whether we like it or not”

50 IS NOT OLD | WHETHER THE WEATHEROkay, he’s right. I got nothing….. So, let’s just go on to the outfit, and maybe tomorrow’s post will be better. I am wearing a cute, very comfy, maxi dress. This is a dress I bought to wear at the beach, since it is sleeveless. But, throw on a cardigan, and the dress becomes work appropriate. I really like the knot tie in the center of the bodice. It reminds me of a Grecian style. The dress is by NY Collection, and I probably bought it at Ross. I love to buy dresses there, they always have the best prices on dresses. I don’t find a lot of other items there, but I can always come out with one or two dresses. Before you ask, I am 5’6″ tall, and I usually wear a large. I looked at the tag for the material (it is 95% viscose ad 5% spandex) and found out that this is a medium. Go me!!!!

When I was searching for the maxi dress by NY Collection, I came across several very flattering dresses that were not maxi’s that I thought you might like.

Dress (Not Maxi): Side Ruched | Crisscross front | Lace50 IS NOT OLD | WHETHER THE WEATHERI pulled out the pale pink cardigan with flowers to put over the dress. The flowers in the cardigan match the dress perfectly. You will be surprised if you look in your closet, all the items that you can mix and match. I would have never thought about wearing this cardigan with coral when I bought it, but look how nice it goes together. I bought the cardi at Talbots a couple years ago, at the Prime Outlet Mall in Orlando, FL.

50 IS NOT OLD | WHETHER THE WEATHERI went easy on the jewelry today. I only have on the one necklace, it just has two strands. For those of you who have a hard time layering necklaces, this type necklace takes the guess work out of the equation. This is called the Stevie, and it is a limited time special purchase. The necklace is not in the catalog. The earrings I have on are called Nancy. They have a long silver metal feather with a red ball on the end.50 IS NOT OLD | WHETHER THE WEATHERThis bracelet is also a limited time special piece from Plunder. I really did not think I would like the bracelet when I ordered it, it looked a little flimsy to me. I only ordered it because I liked the color. When it came in, I was really surprised because it is a very sturdy piece. And, I really like that there are rhinestones around the blue, I thought it was just a white color. After the bracelet came in, I turned around and ordered the matching earrings. Haha If you purchase any of the Plunder jewelry, just type my stylist number in the box when you go to checkout (241007). I have started an online party, and there is a dropdown box where you can choose Tania’s P Party at checkout. If you would like to have an online or FaceBook party, contact me and I will help you set everything up.50 IS NOT OLD | WHETHER THE WEATHERThis bracelet is one that I bought at the Vera Bradley outlet mall this past February. I really like all the colors, and the fact that it has a magnetic closure. But, every time I wear it, I always snag my clothing. It has little rhinestone studs that stand up, and they always are catching on something.

Multi-Color Bracelet: Vera Bradley | Vera Bradley | Vera Bradley Bangle50 IS NOT OLD | WHETHER THE WEATHERMy hair looks decent in this photo, and how about this hip action I have going on. Is this attitude, or what??? Lol!50 IS NOT OLD | WHETHER THE WEATHERI decided to go find my patent leather turquoise Dooney & Bourke satchel to carry with this outfit. All the blue pieces work together. There is little blue stones in the necklace, the bracelet, and the shoes have blue in the floral watercolor pattern. I bought this satchel at the QVC overstock store in town when they were having a 25% off on purses.

I bought these at the DSW store when I went to see my sister back in February. They were on clearance for 10.00, and I loved the colors in the shoe. They are by MIX No. 6. I like the cork wedge soles, you can see them in the from the back photo.

There will be a confirmation sent to that email address that you will need to confirm in order to start. If you do not get the confirmation, look in the junk or trash mail. 5. Love this outfit. I’ve really gotten into the coral orange colors. Which is suprising because I’ve never cared for orange that much. Anyway the sweater is awesome with this dress. It adds color without being over the top. I thoroughly enjoy reading your blog. It’s not only inspiring for us 50ish women. It’s just downright funny! I read it with my first cup of coffee every morning.

  6. Always enjoy your posts….whether about the weather or anything else! Went to Plunder but couldn’t find/figure out out how to entre your code or find the party you’re hosting. Thanks for any help.

    1. Their website is confusing the first time you use it. But, if you go to your URL, and actually type in this address, it will take you straight to shopping with me.
      http://www.plunderdesign.com/taniastephens
When the site comes up, it should say in the top right hand corner, You Are Shopping With Tania Stephens
If for some reason you think it didn’t work, just let me know and I will call them. They can look up the order and switch it to me. The party question comes in the checkout process, there will be a small box that will ask if there is a party. When you click on the dropdown arrow, you will see my name listed.
Thanks for ordering. Let me know if you like what you purchase.

  7. Love this outfit and as always, your blog! Have a great weekend!

  8. One of my favorites! Love the floral cardigan with the dress. Feminine comes to mind. Have a wonderful weekend. xoxo

  9. My favorite weather quote comes from a radio announcer (when radio was once local and live) who used to say, “Whatever the weather is outside, make it a sunny day inside”. Love the dress, gorgeous color–you look long, tall and fresh.

  10. Judy Misich-Goozee says:

Another amazing look. This is pretty nosey but I am curious about how you organize your closet. You have a pretty extensive amount of clothes & accessories.

  11. Another quote to put in the book!!!

  12. Kim Crosbie says:

Great outfit and great color on you. Since reading your blog, I have wore and bought more color than I ever have. I have been a black and white girl with a little denium added in. Now I am having fun with color.

I live in the Northwest and we have had some beautiful weather, but got a cold snap last weekend and the jackets and sweaters had to come out :).

  13. You look great, as usual! I love your posts.

  14. Patti Rose says:

Pretty outfit. Love the cardigan and I covet the D&B handbag.

Speaking of hot, you should be over here in Virginia Beach. Yesterday was 96 with a heat index of 105. Even at 9:00 last night it was still hot and humid.

  15. Rebecca Purdie says:

    Hi,
You look great! I find great dresses at Ross too.
I’m a shortie, 5 3 1/2. I feel I am too stubby to wear maxi dresses. Tried it once just did not think it looked good on me. Maybe I’ll try again.

  16. I love everything about this outfit! The color is amazing for your skin tone. I also wear a lot of coral in the summer. It’s a happy hue. You’re right, people just act differently on Friday. But for my husband and I everyday is Saturday! Were retired!!

  17. SANDI ANDREWS says:

Outfit envy here!! Personally I enjoy hearing abour your weather, rain showers, oh yes. I’m in Texas, it’s been 99-100 degrees all week. So please share that Virginia weather any time.

  18. Carol Reyes says:

Another great outfit, love the colors.

  19. Glenda b Braun says:

Looking good gurl!!! I love the look, hair and all.

  20. Doreen Bednarski says:

This has to be my favorite outfit you have modeled. It just screams summer and happy, and it looks fabulous on you. Looks like the cardigan was made for the dress. This is another one of your creations I would like to “copy”! The beach you say, I’m headed down to Fort Myers Beach, Florida tomorrow so will have to look for a Ross store to see if there are any dresses left! Love the weather verse also and so true no matter where you are from. Enjoy your weekend.

  21. Totally adorable outfit! Love the color combination. I don’t wear many maxi length dresses but we have an outside concert this weekend to attend so will pull one out to step it up a notch. Chuckling at your weather topic today, we go through the same here in my area. I’m praying for a low humidity under 95 degree day for the event!

    Have a great day!

  22. Good morning Tania!
You look so beautiful today! I envy your sense of style, and the way you put outfits together. I am a bargain shopper, also, but unfortunately I am on the skinny side, and I have trouble finding clothes that fit ! To me you are a perfect size, and always look wonderfully put together .
We are heading home from Niagara Falls today , we have been on vacation , weather has been amazing here! The scenery is breathtaking and the fulfillment of a childhood dream to see the Falls! Only took me 45 years! But I have not missed your blog one day ! I check in with my internet friend Tania first thing, every morning, and am never disappointed. Thank you for helping me start my day beautifully!

    1. Rozanne, I have never seen the Falls either. Please let me know if they are as wonderful as they seem. I may have to add them to my list of places I would like to visit.

      1. They are worth every second of the 8 hour drive to get there ! The beauty and majesty of the Falls is stunning. It literally took my breath away. We went to the Canadian side of the Falls, and it was a beautiful city, with so much to do, and see !

        1. It is going on the list!!!

  23. I love this post Tania. I often think we really don’t write enough about this hot/cold or wet time. It is easy to wear for hot and sunny and easy to wear for cold but most of the time it is something in-between so it’s great to have this post of yours.
I once did a similar post with a bit of humour calling it:

You might like to read it for a bit of a laugh 😉

Wishing you a fabulously funky Friday,
    xx Yvonne

    1. I can tell by your pictures you are a hoot yourself, Yvonne ? I will be checking the post out, because I always need a good laugh.

  24. Good morning, Tania. You are a hoot and I really enjoy reading your blog! You look awesome in the maxi dress with the floral sweater. Your tan really makes the outfit. I didn’t realize until a few blogs ago that you are a fellow Virginian. Love it! I am in NOVA and am a native. Enjoy your Friday!

  25. I enjoyed your post- You can discuss weather anytime and your outfit is adorable.

  26. Beautiful dress and cardigan! You are up awfully late tonight. I guess I am too! Haha
