WHAT TO WEAR IN ALASKA
The vacation is winding down and while I hate saying goodbye to Ashleigh but I am looking forward to getting back to home. I miss being in my own house, I miss sleeping in my own bed, and I miss my routine. It is funny how we get set in our routines and it is hard to change.
If you visit Alaska or any place that is colder you need to layer to stay warm. I started with an underlayment hooded top. You want this top to be tight fitting and hug your body. If the top clings to your body then air can not flow up under the top and get you cold. Then I wore a sweatshirt on top of the underlayment. This was a really cute and extremely soft sweatshirt that I bought while I was here in town. Ashleigh is friends with the girl was designs and makes this tops.
Next, I added a jacket for warmth. This jacket is lightweight and warm but it is not waterproof. There is one my daughter’s jacket and it is by Arcteryx. I wore this the entire time I was here, I wonder if she will miss this when I pack it in my bag.
A good waterproof jacket is worth its weight in gold if you live here. When Ashleigh first moved up here she figured out quickly that she needed waterproof items. When she got all of her items inside her backpack wet she understood that EVERYTHING needed to be waterproof.
Here is how it looks when everything is all layered together. If you get hot you can just start taking off layers. You can tell that this was at the end of the day after we got back from the cruise. My hair is flat from having the hoods pulled up every time we went outside to take pictures. The small amount of makeup that I had on earlier has almost been rubbed off. Lol! I look worn out. Haha!

I am having a giveaway for a free Active Hydration Serum from Rodan + Fields. I have become so “hooked” on this product that I can’t even begin to tell you how much. I now will use this morning and night. Go here to see how to enter.
Do you know what my number one referrer page is? It is Pinterest! I truly appreciate every time you “pin” a picture. Heck, pin ALL the pictures if you want. Lol! Also, if you would like to share my posts on Facebook or Twitter, I would appreciate that. It helps get my blog out to more people, and I am sure you just want to spread the entertaining sayings I have. Lol! The comment section is at the end of the post, so keep scrolling. I look forward to reading all the comments, they make my day.

Since we are hoping to go on an Alaskan cruise for my mom’s 80th birthday (she’s my 70+ model on my blog), this is great info!! Although, I may have to borrow stuff—I don’t have any rain gear because it’s so dry here in Denver!!
