I heard all of you loud and clear on yesterday’s post. I gather that you liked the more relaxed outdoor setting so I will see what I can do about trying to make that happen more often. I love taking pictures outdoors also but it has a completely different set of rules than taking pictures on my porch. I have to pay attention to the sun and it can’t be in my eyes but it needs to be on my face. It can’t be raining and I need to pay close attention to what is in the background. Those are actually hard problems to overcome but I am going to give it a go. When it rains though, I will be under the porch. Lol! I love keeping it real but I don’t think anyone wants to see flat, wet hair and makeup that is running. If that appeals to you then I will take my pictures when I get out of the shower. Lol!!! I spent Friday afternoon talking to a friend on the phone and then when Joe came home we moved out to the patio for a few drinks. He and I talked for a few minutes and then he decided that he wanted to take a shower in his new outdoor shower. He asked me to go in and get him a towel, shampoo, and another drink. I started laughing and of course, he demanded to know why I was laughing. I told him that he reminded of a tee-shirt that I saw once. It said, “Cool story babe, now go fix me a sandwich.” Men, we are always at their beck and call. Lol! Or, maybe it is just mine that is spoiled beyond belief. One of the things that I love about summer is that it seems to be the season on weddings. I get a ton of emails that ask me what they should wear to a summer wedding. That was the first thing that came to my mind when I saw this cute shift dress. I bought this dress from Sable and Sailat TJ Maxx. I love the shift dress style, it works the best for me. It fits through the bodice but doesn’t touch me in the waist area which is where I carry my most weight. I loved the two-tone color block style of this dress and I love the stand-up collar that frames your face. You can wear it up or down like it is here. I just think that this style of dress would be perfect for a wedding, especially if it is an outdoor wedding.
If it is sunny and hot outside you might need something on your head. Most weddings I have attended have a tent set up but I have been to others where the sun was beating down on you. That is when a cute summer hat would be a welcome addition to the outfit. That and a cute hand fan to keep you cool. The last thing that I would want is to be sitting out in the hot sun with no hat and no fan and then feeling the sweat start to run down my back. Lol!
You have seen me carry this bamboo “it” handbag before but if you missed it then go here to read all about it. I think the accessories really add a lot of interest to this outfit. The hat, the scarf that picks up the colors of the dress, and then I have my magnetic bling bracelet on that I have stacked in the same color range. I have on a blue one that was a special offer months ago, the opal, the Broederick, and the Hilton bracelet in the seafoam green color. I love how you can stack these for a more dramatic look or just wear on or two at a time. To place an order you just go to plunderdesign.com/taniastephens, hit the shop tab and pick a party with my name in it. Just so you know, after I had finished my drink I sent Joe in to “fetch” me another one. You didn’t think that I was going to wait on him without repaying the favor, did you? I said, “O’ Garson, I need another drink.” Lol! Two minutes before I started typing this last section I got an email from Rodan + Fields. They were congratulating me on earning an expense paid trip to New Orleans in September. I already knew that I had earned the trip but it was nice to see the confirmation email. Then as I was finishing reading that email, another popped up from them. It was asking for my “headshot” for being recognized at Convention. You would think that someone who takes their picture every day would have one of those but you would be wrong! Now, I need to see if I can find a local photographer to take some headshots for me. I HATE having someone else take my photo. I still get tight and tense when someone else takes my photo so this might be interesting. lol! My kids used to tease me and call me “turtle” because of how bad I looked in photos. Who would have ever imagined that someone called turtle would ever start a blog?
BTW, you didn’t think that I would leave before showing a pic of the outdoor shower, did you???
That is what he gets for the “sandwich” comment. Lol!!!

Attractive dress, and great shoes, but where I’m from, it is a little casual for a wedding. This outfit would have been perfect for me to wear to work.
Pretty dress and colors look nice on you. I love hats too and that one is so cute. It’s a simple look but very put together. I bet Joe is going to love that you posted that picture! ? Nice to see such a fun and loving couple that’s has lasted. Gives us all hope. By the way, photos always look good but mixing up background does keep it interesting.
You are absolutely gorgeous and an inspiration! Thank you!
