What Shoes to Wear with Fall Outfits When It’s Still Hot
I just got a fresh pedicure yesterday, and there’s no way I’m ready to hide my piggies in boots just yet. But at the same time, I’m getting an itch to start wearing my favorite fall outfits. Even though my nail tech told me my nail color was boring and that I needed something more trendy, I still want to show it off before the snow starts to fly. Lol!
I don’t know about you, but when fall rolls around and the temps are still in the 80s, I want to look like autumn without sweating through my clothes or my shoes! If you’re in that same transitional mindset, I’ve got you covered. Today I’m sharing my go-to shoe styles that look the part for autumn but still feel good when it’s hot outside. Let’s get into it!
Sandals to Wear in Late Summer and Early Fall
Slides are still fair game when it’s hot out, and this pair has the perfect earthy tone for fall. The design is supportive but open enough to keep your feet cool. Great with cropped pants or wide-leg trousers!
Yes, you can wear flip-flops in the fall if they look stylish like this! The Emma has that simple silhouette, but with extra support, and the leopard print is perfect for fall! Ideal for warm days when your fall outfit still needs breezy shoes.
This one checks all the boxes: comfort, support, and style. The slingback gives it a more dressed-up look, and the color options are perfect for fall. I’d throw these on with a midi skirt or jeans and a cute tee.
Heels and Wedges to Wear in Late Summer and Early Fall
If it’s hot but you still want to dress up, this sandal is your answer. The ankle strap gives great support, and the block heel makes it walkable. It pairs beautifully with fall dresses and jumpsuits for date night or church.
Wedges are perfect for this in-between season. These give you a little height without the wobble, and the neutral tone works with everything from denim to dresses. Great for those fall days that still feel like summer.
Loafers, Flats, and Mules to Wear with Fall Outfits When It’s Still Hot
These shoes might not show off my new pedicure, but they are going to look fabulous with all the new fall arrivals hitting the stores.

Loafers are perfect for those in-between days when it’s not quite warm enough for sandals but you don’t feel like wearing boots. I’ve been adding lots of loafers to my closet this year. Some of them have fun colors or patterns (like these leopard ones), but I also have a few pairs of solid nude ones (like this Italian leather pair from Quince!).

You can never go wrong with a timeless leather ballet flat. Think soft, buttery leather in neutral shades like beige, blush, or camel. These are perfect for work, casual outfits, or even travel days when you need a comfortable yet polished shoe.

Talk about a cute transition shoe! The double buckles give it some personality, and the open back makes it easy to slide on when it’s still warm out. These look great with cropped denim or a flowy fall dress.
Studded loafers are a fun way to add edge to your outfit without sacrificing comfort. These give you that polished fall look without having to reach for boots. Perfect with trousers, jeans, or even a casual midi dress.
These flats are so fun and unexpected! The gold studs feel festive, and the Mary Jane style gives them a touch of vintage charm. I’d wear these with shorts now and then jeans for a cute, fall-ready look!
Clogs are back, y’all! This pair from Time and Tru is budget-friendly and surprisingly comfy. The buckle detail gives them a little something extra, and they work well with wide-leg pants or straight-leg denim.
When you need something light and classic, this ballet flat fits the bill. The perforation keeps things breathable, while the almond toe and subtle heel keep it feminine and fall-appropriate! Cute with skirts, dresses, or pants.
Sneakers to Wear with Fall Outfits When It’s Still Hot
These sneakers give off those old-school vintage vibes but with a modern edge. The mix of textures and fall tones makes them perfect for the season. I’d wear these with straight-leg jeans and a light sweater while running errands or meeting a friend for lunch.
These neutral sneakers go with everything. The mix of sand and brown tones feels just right for fall, but they’re still lightweight and breathable enough for warm weather. They add a cool, sporty touch to jeans or midi dresses.
Clean, simple, and oh-so-stylish. The Althea sneaker gives you that polished sneaker look with just enough cushioning to keep your feet happy. Pair them with jeans, joggers, or casual trousers for an easy fall vibe.
If comfort is the name of the game, this Ryka sneaker wins. It’s supportive, breathable, and made for real walking. But lucky for us, it looks super cute too! Great with leggings or a sporty dress.
Ballet flats are one of my go-to shoes year-round, but especially in the fall when it’s time to start covering those toes. The pointed shape of this pair gives them a dressier feel than your average ballet flat, and the little bow detail is just the cherry on top. They’re comfy, classic, and true to size, and I wear mine with everything from jeans to dresses!
