What I Have on Order Right Now (Because Apparently I’m in My “Let’s See If This Works” Era)
You know how this goes. One minute you’re just replacing one basic, and the next thing you know, Amazon is telling you, “Arriving Monday.”
Joe likes to pretend he doesn’t notice the boxes stacking up by the door, but Lucy absolutely notices. She supervises every delivery like it’s her job.
Here’s everything I currently have on order, what caught my eye, and what I’m hoping works once it’s on my actual body and not a 22-year-old model who’s never met gravity.
Amazon Try-Ons Coming Soon
This order is very sweater-heavy, which tells me two things.
One, I want comfort.
Two, I want outfits that don’t require thinking.
Cozy Layers & Easy Cardigans
I ordered several short-sleeve and lightweight knit tops because they’re my secret weapon for transitional weather and indoor air conditioning wars.
I grabbed:
- Puff sleeve cardigans in green and pink because I love a sleeve that does a little something without being dramatic.
- Batwing and boat neck sweaters in blue and green, which usually skim without clinging and give that relaxed but put-together look.
- A fuzzy fleece pink Henley pullover that I fully expect to live in on chilly mornings, coffee in hand, pretending I’m productive.
If these work, they’ll be the kind of tops you throw on with jeans, black pants, or even a skirt and call it a day.
I might have got a little carried away, but I couldn’t stop ordering these in the hopes that Spring will soon be here.
Pants Experiment Phase
I clearly decided this was the moment to test pants. I didn’t order as many pants as I did tops, but that is how my usual shopping goes.
I ordered:
- Wide-leg drawstring jeans in khaki and light blue because comfort matters, and buttons are sometimes overrated.
- Straight-leg jeans in baby blue and wash blue to see which rise and leg shape behaves best.
- Black bootcut dress pants in two sizes because we all know sizing can be… optimistic.
My hope is to find at least one pair that feels forgiving through the middle, doesn’t gap in the back, and works with flats. If not, you’ll hear about it.
One Little Extra
I also tossed in a gold evil eye necklace because sometimes an outfit just needs a little something, and sometimes we all need extra protection from online returns.
Stella & Dot Is Back, and I Did Not Hesitate
I used to be a consultant with Stella & Dot years ago, and when they went out of business, I was genuinely sad. Their jewelry always felt special without being fussy.
So when I found out they were back, I ordered immediately.
Here’s what I picked:
- A Rooted in Love versatile gold necklace as my base piece. This feels like one of those necklaces you wear constantly and never take off.
- A Three Graces Tatum gold and pavé charm because it has meaning and sparkle, which is a solid combination.
- A Tatum vintage heart charm because I’m sentimental and not apologizing for it.
I’m planning to wear this layered with sweaters, button-downs, and even tees. This is everyday jewelry, not “save it for something special” jewelry.
BTW, they are having a Buy one, get one 50% OFF earrings sale. Use code: EARCANDY. I know this sale won’t last long, so take advantage of the savings now.
Talbots Finds I’m Really Excited About
I’ve worn Talbots for decades, and it’s still one of those brands that quietly delivers. These are pieces I ordered with real outfits already in mind.
Bags First, Because Of Course
- The Katharine woven denim tote because denim bags work year-round and go with almost everything I own.
- The suede chain tote in Sierra Brown, because a soft brown bag warms up outfits and feels more current than black.
Tops That Do the Heavy Lifting
- A white pintuck ruffle voile top, which I know will be a layering workhorse. These are the tops that make jeans look intentional.
- A navy Jacobean print button-front shirt that feels classic but not boring, and will be great with denim or trousers.
Jeans I’m Hoping I Love
- The classic jean trousers in Richmond wash because I like denim that feels polished enough for errands and lunch but still comfortable.
If even half of these work, I’ll be thrilled. If not, we pivot. That’s always the plan.
What Happens Next
Once everything arrives, I’ll try these on, style them honestly, and tell you what’s worth keeping and what’s going back. No sugarcoating.
Some of these will be great. Some will absolutely not. That’s just part of the process.
And, because I am finally in an ordering mood, I’m placing orders with Quince and J.Crew Factory later today. I already have several things in my Quince cart, but I’m quite ready to place the order. It’s good to be back in my “add to cart” era!
