I have been stalking FedEx for days, waiting on my purchases from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale to arrive. I paid the extra $20.00 dollars so that I could get expedited shipping, and “some” of my items arrived on Wednesday. I had high hopes that the items would arrive in time for me to grab some photos and do a try-on session for you, but they didn’t show up until around 4:00 pm. So, instead of trying them on for you in today’s post, I am going to show you what I picked, and tell you how the things fit that did arrive.

Plus, I will still be doing a try-on session, but it will be today, and I’ll post that to my stories on Instagram since that is an “instant” platform for videos. If you are not following me, then you’ll want to do that NOW. Click here. I will be putting the photos on the blog, probably Saturday, because it will take longer to do the photos, edit them, and then write the narrative. Those of you who have a Nordstrom Card can start shopping today at 9:30 ET by clicking HERE. For anyone who doesn’t have a card, then you can shop on the 19th which is next Wednesday.

Starting on the top row, left to right.

  1. Itty Bitty Boot Cut Jeans  // 2. Wit + Wisdom Ankle Jeans Plus // 3. Catherine Boyfriend Jeans // 4. Donna Kut from the Kloth Black Jeans // 5. Donna Kut from the Kloth Plus // 6. Joes Honey Bootd Cut // 7. Marilyn Straight Leg Jeans –  Plus // 8. Marilyn Straight Leg Jeans // 9. Diana Kut From The Kloth // 10. 7 Wide Leg Jeans

These were my under $100.00 jeans picks. The only pair that I have gotten already in #3, Catherine Boyfriend Jeans. I sized down and ordered a size 8 because I don’t like baggy jeans. They fit me GREAT!!! They are extremely soft, but they are on the thin side. So, if you like heavyweight denim, then these might not be for you. They came cuffed, but the cuff is not tacked, so they can be worn uncuffed. Also, #8 has already sold out. I figured that it might because straight leg jeans seams to be a hot item this year. I haven’t gotten any of the others in yet, but I did buy a black skinny pair from Madewell in my normal size 30. These are very skinny in the legs, but I love the way they look. However, these have a higher waist than any jeans that I own and they strike me about 1.5″-2″ above my belly button. They weren’t uncomfortable, but it felt odd.

Starting on the top row, left to right.

  1. Frame Dark Flare // 2. AG Ex-Boyfriend // 3. Paige Bootcut // 4. 7 High waist Skinny // 5. Mother the looker // 6. 7 skinny gray // 7. Hudson jeans baby bootcut // 8. Hudson Supermodel // 9. Frame Le Sylvie // 10. AG Prima Cigarette

Premium denim jeans are everyone’s pick this year. Several of these are already completely sold out, including #1, #5, and #9. Also, several of them are getting limited on sizes, and even though I had #2 in my cart and had already checked out, my size sold out before they could ship them to me.

// Nadalie by Steve Madden // Born Alize Knee Boots // Oshay by Marc Fisher // Tory Burch Leigh Bootie // Derrika Leather Knee Boot by Vince Camuto // Loyalty Open Toe bootie // UGG Elisa bootie // Paige Dark Wine Knee Boot // Valli Waterproof bootie // Jayne waterproof bootie by Timberland // Gardina bootie by Vince Camuto // Black Knee High boots by Naturalizer //

I did get a couple of these boots yesterday, and almost every one of them runs true to size. The Tory Burch Leigh Bootie fits me great. I was afraid that the heel would be too tall, but they are comfortable. My DIL got the Derrika Knee Boots in and they fit her great too. She ordered her normal size and loved them. The Gardina bootie by Vince Camuto came in and I ordered them in black. They fit tight through the toe because they are so pointed. I’m not sure if I should order up another size, but if you like to wear socks with your boots, then consider sizing up. I also got in the SARTO by Franco Sarto in the Taupe Snake Print. I feel like these run a little big, and they made my foot look very long. I might order the next size down just to see how the fit is then. And, I also got in the Vince Camuto Fedrilla open-toe bootie. This was a pair that I was prepared not to like, and I loved them instead. However, I think that I might need to size up 1/2 a size, and I’ve already placed that order to see which fits best.

I know that everyone is loving loungewear, so here are my picks for soft & cozy clothing.

Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not Old picks for 2020 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale in loungewear

Starting at the top and moving from left to right:

// Ugg Robe, comes in several colors // Moonlight Dream PJs // Cashmere pink Ruana, comes in several colors // Floral PJs // Cozy V-neck top // Indoorsy top // Zella Crop Leggings // In the Wild Throw // Throw Blanket // UGG Fluffy Slippers // Cozy Shorts // Barefoot Dreams Socks // Cozy top //

OH, MY WORD!!! I love this UGG robe and pajama set! I ordered a medium in both of these, and they fit like a dream. I might be wearing these super-soft PJs as I am writing this post. Lol! I also got in the Cozy V-Neck top in and I ordered the gray and the black. These are super soft, but they do run a little oversized. They feel great, but under the arms, they are a little loose. I just ordered both of them in a small, and I’ll decide which one I am keeping once they come in. But, I am definitely keeping one of the sizes because I love the top.

Starting at the top and moving from left to right:

Butternut Moto Jacket // Spanx Perfect Black Pant // Satin Camisole // Tory Burch Carson Handbag // Ripped Hem Crop Jeans // Tory Burch Bootie // Pointed mule w/chain // Tweed Blazer // Vionic Black Sandal // Halogen Cashmere Sweater, comes in several colors // Marc Fisher Bootie //

In my MUST-HAVES, I got the Butternut Moto Jacket and I love the color, the weight, and it looks amazing. However, I just went in and ordered a large because if I will want to wear it with something other than a sleeveless top, it would need to be bigger. The medium looked fine, but it felt a little tight through the arms. I also ordered the BLANKNYC Suede Moto Jacket, and it fits perfectly, and it is a size large. Lol! At least I knew to size up in that one. I also ordered a black moto jacket that hasn’t arrived yet because I wanted to show you several options and how they each look different. The black SPANX pants are fabulous!!! I ordered two sizes, and the large will be the one that I will keep. These are soooo nice, and I promise that you will love this purchase. The Satin Camisole is beautiful, but the straps are not adjustable. They could easily be tacked up if needed, but they don’t adjust by themselves. This has a cowl neck style drape to the top which is different. I ordered my normal size 10, and it fits me great, and possibly a little loose. Somehow I ended up with TWO Tory Burch handbags in the same color. Lol! One will be going back unless my DIL decides that this is her Christmas present from Joe and me. It is very nice and it is a great leather bag. It is larger than I thought it would be, and since I love large bags, I was pleasantly pleased.

I really like a lot of the items that have already come in. The things that I LOVE are Catherine Boyfriend Jeans, the Fedrilla Open-Toe bootie, the UGG robe, and PJ set, the Butternut Moto Jacket, and the Black SPANX pants. I can’t wait until the rest of my items come in, but until then, be sure to check out my stories today when I show you all of these items and how they look and fit.

It is time for some of you to GO SHOPPING! Let me know if you had any luck getting your favorite picks.

  2. I don’t follow Instagram or Facebook. I’m only interested in reading your opinions on the blog. I understand why you suggested IG but, it’s not my thing. Thanks for your work on the blog, Tania. We all appreciate it. Now, speaking of the Nordstrom sale, I’m finding it disappointing this year; unfortunately I have numerous gift cards to use…blech! BTW, how are your nails???

  3. Well, if it helps any, I got it right away, ???? I can’t get on Instagram right now. I just get a blank page. I do follow you there. It’s always sumpin (to quote rosadana from old SNLive)

  4. Tania, apparently we are all so starved for entertainment we can’t stand the thought of missing your clothing pics. WOW better not cross us. LOL

  5. Sheri Fancher says:

Can’t wait to see everything! And you did clarify in your post that it would be on your blog, it would just take you longer to get it in on there❤️

  6. Good choices. I also prefer the blog to Instagram even though I follow you on both. Maybe Im just more familiar with that.

  7. Would love to see your try-on session but I don’t do instagram either and that’s why I enjoy your blog so much. Please consider posting the try-ons on the blog. I appreciate all the work you put in to trying on and then taking the pics! Must be exhausting!!

  8. I am sure you will be posting a lot of what you bought from the sale on the blog over time! That will work ! Lots to look forward to!
    Happy Styling!!

    1. I’ll be posting quick shots on Saturday, not styles or anything, but photos of how they look.

  9. finally started instagram just to follow you!

    1. Instagram is actually a fun platform. I love it because you can see a lot in a short period of time. Thanks for saying it was just to follow me.

      1. I follow you and a few other bloggers on Instagram, but I can never figure out how to see the “stories”. Everything on my wish list is already sold out so that will save me lots of money!

  10. For those of us who don’t have Instagram please explain why you would make a big deal about the Nordstrom sale on your blog, post pictures of what you’ve ordered and kept, but then not show us your try on session? Is that how you increase your Insta audience?

    1. Good grief. Y’all, just chill for a minute. ???? It wasn’t to get my Instagram, it is simply because stories is “video” and that is way easier. Talking about what you’re wearing versus taking the photo, editing it, and then typing the narrative, is much, much, easier. That is why it can happen today, and a blog post won’t happen until Saturday.

      1. Thank you for your reply, and for updating your post. It is now clear that the try on session will be posted here on Saturday. I look forward to seeing it!

  11. Sorry to hear you will only be posting your try-ons to Instagram. Seems like an odd way of increasing your followers on that platform. I look forward to your blog coming in but if the try-Ons will no longer be on the blog, that’s too bad. I don’t have time to follow bloggers on the various platforms. Disappointed.

    1. Kathy- I agree. I had been looking forward to seeing the try-ons, but I have a hard time with Instagram.

      1. Sandy, it appears that I need to re-write the way that I talked about the try on session. Stories is easier for those type of sessions because it is video. Of course I’ll be putting it on the blog, but that takes me longer since I have to take the photos, edit them, and then write the post. It will probably be Saturday’s post.

        1. Tania, thanks for explaining that Stories is video. I’m clueless about Instagram. BTW, I really do appreciate the detail that you provide and the time that you spend each day doing these blogs. It’s something that I look forward to each day!

          1. PS. I love Peanuts! Where did you get Woodstock tee?

    2. Kathy, I’m sorry if you misunderstood, I will be doing the try-on’s for the blog also, but it would be on Saturday. I can do them in “stories” today. That is because the platform is instant, but the blog takes times to take the photos, and then write the description. Stories is al video, so there is no writing involved.

      1. Thank you for clearing it up. ????
