WEARING RED FOR THE HOLIDAYS
Sunday was one of those days that I will remember for a long, long time. It was practically perfect in every way! We went to church, Joe, Ashleigh, Emersyn, and I and the children in the church were putting on their Christmas play. Watching them perform and sing their little hearts out was truly a blessing. We asked Emersyn if she wanted to be in the play next year but she shook her head no. She said that she didn’t want to get up on the stage in front of everyone. Her father was like that when he was growing up also and that is why I have a Christmas picture of him from the back. He refused to turn around so the photographer could take his picture. Lol!
We went to eat after church and then we came back home and that is when we got out the things to make a gingerbread house. The house was already assembled so all that was left to do was the decorating. Emersyn was excited to decorate but she kept yawning. “Nee Nee, I need to rest my eyes for a few minutes before we can start” was what she told me. She “rested” her eyes for about an hour and then it was on to the decorating. She changed out of her church clothes and put on some play clothes. But, she was afraid that she would get them dirty so she put on her coat and refused to take it off. Lol! She and Ashleigh had the best time applying the icing, the sprinkles and even making a tree out of fondant. It would appear that Joe and I are not the only ones tickled that Ashleigh is back home.
We haven’t made a gingerbread house in probably fifteen years. We really had a great time putting it together and of course, eating a little of the candy along the way. Lol!
This is the last of my Holiday outfits. I wanted to end this series with a bright color and this sweater was a perfect choice. Red is festive and the large cowl neck gives the sweater a lot of visual interest. The neckline can be worn off the shoulder or like I am wearing in this post. The top is feminine and comfortable and machine washable. I like clothing to be something that I can wear and not something that I have to baby. I originally ordered a large but it was too big for me, this one is a medium and it fits much better. The sweater is c/o Cato Fashions (here) and since the poncho that I styled here sold out after I posted it on the blog (yes, I am taking credit for that, lol!) you don’t want to wait too long to place your order.
I am wearing the Gentry large pearl hoop earrings again with today’s look. I love these earrings and you will probably be seeing me wear them a lot in the future. I added the delicate Pearl necklace which can be worn long like I am today, or it can be doubled and worn shorter. I wanted to add a small amount of green to my look without looking too cartoonish, so I added the Chanel ring which features flowers set in acrylic. And, I finished up my jewelry by stacking the Lelani lark link bracelet and the Mary Ellen gold tassel bracelet. Plunder Design jewelry is very well made and very affordable which is why I love their items. I can splurge on myself and not feel guilty at all. Lol! To place an order, just go here, hit the shop button, pick a party with my name in it, and have fun looking at all of the beautiful jewelry.
I added a dark rinse pair of jeans to the look to make the red “pop” and then I added the Chili Pepper red Mary Jane shoes c/o Cato Fashions. I won’t be wearing these shoes for every day but I will be wearing them out to dinner, to church, or for special occasions. Their price makes this affordable and not wasteful. I ordered my normal size and they fit great.

I just now am seeing this post from 2018. This is a timeless look for the holidays. One of my favorites on you! I love it.
Tania, which Rodan and Fields regimen do you use?
Sue, I use two regimens. I use Reverse in the morning and Redefine at night. If I am out of one of them, then I use whatever I have morning and night. When I first started, I started with Reverse to work on my sun damage and then added the Redefine regimen later to work on my fine lines and wrinkles. Just email me if you would like to talk about what would be best for you.
It’s all about making memories!! That red on you looks fantastic, it’s so festive!! ? the outfit Tania!!
I agree, Carol. I loved making memories with my daughter and seeing my grandchildren’s face when they met the puppy was priceless.
Fabulous red outfit and that beautiful animal print clutch takes it to the next level! Such sweet Christmas memories Emersyn will have with her for the rest of her life, decorating gingerbread houses with Aunt Ashleigh. The photos are precious!
All of our Christmases were special cause Mama & Daddy really spoiled us on that day! And we always read the Christmas Story in the Bible first! But that year I was 14 & I’d wanted a horse my whole life. My Daddy bought us a beautiful palomino mare complete w/all the tack & left the saddle & bridle in the living room as if from Santa. When I ran outside afterwards I knew my dreams had come true! It was fantastic! Not to mention that Mama always made a huge Christmas breakfast of homemade sweet rolls, eggs & bacon and we’d eat before the fire in fireplace. It was magical!
I love dressing for Christmas and have enjoyed all your holiday outfits! Those shoes are fabulous!
Red is your color! You look great. And those shoes are perfect. I don’t usually wear much jewelry but I really like the earrings and necklace. My best memories of Christmas are when I was very young and having Christmas Eve at my grandmother’s house with our entire extended family. Everyone came in for that. Delicious dinner, adults convincing us kids that Santa was on the roof and singing Christmas carols together. I don’t remember the gifts just my family and it was so fun.
My favorite family tradition started in 1946 when I was 2 Years old. My Family lit a candle for 1 hour while we opened presents and we have continued that tradition with the same candle every since then. My Mother died in 1981 & my Dad died in 1995 and I inherited the tradition. I actually still burn the same candle, although there is not a whole lot left of it. My 2 children started their own tradition with burning a candle In their homes.
Making dough ornaments with my mother and soon to be husband 25 years ago! My mother was an artist so we have these beautiful ornaments still ❤️
Imitation is the best form of flattery. I will definitely be copying this entire outfit. Love love love!
