Another wild and crazy day here in the large metropolis of Grundy, Virginia. You have to realize that for it to be wild and crazy here just means that it was Monday. This was a beautiful day and that means a busy day at work. If it rains then people don’t want to get out of their cars so they wait until it is pretty. Monday’s are normally busy anyway because everyone is coming in to get the supplies they need for the rest of the week. Friday’s are usually dead at work. Nobody wants to work on the weekend so they don’t come in to buy anything. Just another reason to love Fridays.Today was even more special because I got to attend the pre-school graduation of Emersyn. It was adorable. All the little kiddos sang songs and they were so proud of their graduation medals they got. Some were shy and some were little performers. Emersyn fell somewhere in between. You could see her scanning the room trying to find us. I had been told not to make eye contact with her because last year she wouldn’t stay on the stage once she spotted her mommy and daddy. She looked and looked and then all at once she broke into a huge smile and whispered to the little girl next to her, “I see my parents.” Then she waved and said, “I see my neenee, too!” She did great! But once I thought she was going to knock the little girl off her chair when she elbowed her that it was time to clap.It is an unusual day for me because I am wearing black. I do prefer color but I suppose black “is” a color so I need to wear it occasionally. Lol! When I bought this top I thought it was a poncho but once I got home I discovered that is wasn’t. It is just material. There are no side seams, they are open. What do you even call this type top? I thought about stitching my own side seams but decided to just forget and go with the flow. I grabbed a black tank top to wear under it and no one ever knew the difference.
I guess because I wore pale green on yesterday’s blog I still had the color in the back of my mind. I don’t know what would have made me choose these accessories otherwise. I think they look good against the black backdrop but it is not a color I would normally choose to wear with black. The Trixy earrings were is the past fall and winter Plunder catalog but I just recently got around to ordering them. They are not super long for those who don’t like larger earrings. These have a 2″ drop and the three little dangles just match the two necklaces that I have on.The long necklace is called the Gabbie and the shorter necklace is called the Ryan. I have had the Gabbie for a while although I usually wear it with jeans. I like the pale earth tone colors of this duo but the silver cross is my favorite part of the necklaces. It is hard to see but the cross is made up of tiny little beads. They remind me of the dot ice cream that you can buy. It is really cute and I liked it much better in person that I did on the website. Big surprise, right???? The large Barbara bracelet was another surprise. I thought it was going to be gunmetal colored and it is more like an oil rubbed bronze. I am beginning to think I am starting to develop color blindness. First I wore black leggings thinking my top was black and now I can’t even tell the difference in gunmetal and oil rubbed bronze. When I bought these wedge shoes last year I didn’t know that perforations were going to be in style. Shucks, they might have already been in style and I just didn’t know. I like that they zip up the back because that makes them very easy to get on and off. The heel is a small one probably a 2-inch style. This pair is by Nine and Co. but I found some that were similar.
I am a sucker for gingham. You probably already know that if you have read my blog at all. I bought this pair of crop pants last year at Old Navy. They are pixie pants and this is one of the stretchy type pants. They run smaller than the chino type so I will size up when I buy this type.
I thought you might like to see a picture of me and Emersyn at tonight’s graduation. I am giving away an item associated with Rodan and Fields daily on my personal Facebook page. If we are not friends, be sure to send me a request so that you can enter those daily. I love the products and try to give away as many samples as I can. If you win a sample from me the only thing I ask is feedback from you telling me about your experience. R+F doesn’t have very many products in the sample size because they have a 60-day money back guarantee on all their products. They consider EVERYTHING to be a sample size. Lol!
I want to thank everyone who has signed up for my emails. I promise you only get one email a day from me and I don’t give out your email addresses, that would just be weird. Lol!
The winner of the Plunder bracelet for the 5000 email subscription giveaway is KS Harrison. Watch for my email!!!
You can not give me a bigger compliment than when you share my posts on Facebook or Twitter. This tells me you like my posts. ALSO< Please make sure you pin at least one outfit on Pinterest. Your your granddaughter is beautiful!! I love your outfit!!! Love the jewelry!!! I told my husband he needs to take me to Grundy to shop those outlets!
You and Miss Emersyn are so adorable! She is a lucky little girl to live so close to you. I grew up very close to my grandmothers, one even closer than the other. I treasure my memories of them!
You are so funny….”black ‘is’ a color!” You look great, as always.
You never should have put a picture of Emersyn up if you wanted us to notice your outfit. HAHA. She really is adorable. And you always look great 🙂 http://www.over50under20.com
I LOVE you in all your bright colors (better than this black)….black ‘washes’ me out too, so I don’t wear it near my face….but you always seem to “rock” whatever you wear! But bravo for giving it a go anyway…even tho we can see you’re not all that excited about black, LOL!! Thanks for doing this – so many great and wonderful ideas for us! I am Truly glad to have this site on my daily news feed so I can try to say ‘somewhat’ current in my clothing style.
Oh my goodness, your Emersyn is a princess! She is gorgeous just like her Neenee! I’m sitting here relaxing after yard work and walking my dogs this morning catching up on your blogs! Always a treat!
