50 IS NOT OLD | HOW TO WEAR THE DISTRESSED LOOK OVER 50If you know me at all then you know that I don’t believe in coincidences. I don’t think that things happen randomly. I think that there is always a reason that something is placed in your life. I especially feel like that when it comes to people I meet. I find myself wondering all the time why someone has entered my life or why someone has been removed from my life. There are so many of you readers that I now feel a connection with and I can’t help but believe it is for the betterment of myself as well as it is for you. 50 IS NOT OLD | HOW TO WEAR THE DISTRESSED LOOK OVER 50I have so many new ladies in my life that encourage me, challenge me, support me, and make me want to be a better person. It is hard to believe that people you might not have ever met have such an impact on your life. None of this is a coincidence, every one of you is here, reading this blog, for a reason. And here you just thought you stumbled upon my blog because you were looking for a change in your fashion. You didn’t know that you were instead here to be a blessing to me. ?50 IS NOT OLD | HOW TO WEAR THE DISTRESSED LOOK OVER 50I know some of you are not wild about anything distressed but I absolutely love this sweatshirt. This makes wearing a sweatshirt super fashionable. At this time wearing a sweatshirt with paint splatters and stains is not fashionable but just wait until next year because that could always change. Lol! When I bought this top they had two colors, this dark olive green (I know it looks brown) and a mustard colored one. I debated and debated and then finally I bought this one. And the other one too. Lol!!! This came from my local boutique and if you are interested you will need to call or text her because her website does not get updated. Here is the information:

50 IS NOT OLD | HOW TO WEAR THE DISTRESSED LOOK OVER 50 I couldn’t adjust the color where it would show the true color of the shirt. It is really the olive green color like it looks in this photo.  50 IS NOT OLD | HOW TO WEAR THE DISTRESSED LOOK OVER 50 Here is your first look at some of the new fall jewelry. This was some of the items that came in my fall stylist kit that I ordered but I recently placed an order for more items. I love dangling carrots (jewelry carrots) in front of your nose. Lol! This necklace is called the Dallas. It is versatile in the fact that it can be worn long or short plus there are so many different colors that it will go with almost anything. The Fiona bracelet is not something you normally would wear but I admit that it is growing on me. I do like all the colors and all the different textures. 50 IS NOT OLD | HOW TO WEAR THE DISTRESSED LOOK OVER 50 The Farlan earrings have a 2.5″ drop and look how cute these are. These earrings are fun! They remind me of I Dream of Jennie, don’t ask me why. The new leather bracelet is this month’s Plunder Posse 50 IS NOT OLD | HOW TO WEAR THE DISTRESSED LOOK OVER 50 Even if you don’t love leggings you have to love these leggings. The colors are so “fall” and I will get lots of wear out of them. I know for sure that the sweatshirt in mustard that I bought will also match these. I have a long maroon cardigan that I know will look fabulous with these leggings.

50 IS NOT OLD | HOW TO WEAR THE DISTRESSED LOOK OVER 50Neutrals have their place in your fall wardrobe. I bought these the other day at the outlet store, they are by Marc Fisher. The suede ankle boots have fringe details and a 3.5″ heel. I normally wear a size 9 but these are an 8.5 and they are okay.

50 IS NOT OLD | HOW TO WEAR THE DISTRESSED LOOK OVER 50I love getting messages like this. This came in an email last night:

“Today a lady at the front table called me over at the break. She asked me what kind of makeup I use on my face because it was glowing and looked great. I wear no makeup… no foundation or blush. No one has ever asked me what makeup I use or what mascara I use. Never! It is obviously the products.”

    Tania,
First off I love your blog! I’m soon to be 70 and was really concerned. I happened across your posting and my daughter set up my Pinterest page. I naturally add your styles and look forward to many more. Especially when I also have several pieces. We unloaded the closet and immeadiatly found at least 8 outfits with what I had. Thank you so much!

Love the leggings. Love your nails. Love the necklace. Love the distressed sweatshirt. I had never seen one before. Thank you for inspiring us ladies to rock and roll and avoid being safe and boring.

  3. Cute jewelry but not a fan of the distressed look. Looks good on you though! And a 3.5″ heel? You’re better than I am!

I love to watch you just to see what you are wearing. You have exquisite taste and I do believe that I share the same colors, etc., that you love. I love wearing vests and sweaters with faux fur around the collar. That is my thing and knee high boots. I cannot wear heels unfortunately, bad back and knee. I can rock my flats though! Have an awesome day.

    1. I am so glad that you are taking my outfit suggestions and making them your own. ?

  5. Love this outfit, you have been such a help to me being 53 and looking stylish not silly. Love your humour and look forward to your email blog ? have a blessed day.

  7. AH-MAZING!! Good morning!

Okay, I’m trying to keep my green-eyed monster under control, but I must admit she’s getting the best of me…..grrrrrr!!! LOL!! It’s okay to be a little jealous, right? ?

YOU look TOO cute! At first, I thought your sweatshirt was ombre, then Algerian Red, then brown! Thank goodness, you clarified the color as Olive Drab. WOW! I kept looking for the “distressed” area, I thought they were inserts, but THEN I saw your leggings! Absolutely to die for!! ❤️

Perfect outfit for Fall! My favorite time of year! The Holidays! Cooking for my sweet family!
Baking! Making candy! YOUR fashion has incited quite a riot in my soul! I have a renewed EXCITEMENT about everything!

Hope Plunder still offers your necklace next month! I’ve spent WAY too much money, on myself, this month, for my comfort zone. BUT, by golly, I sure look better…I feel good about myself, again!

Thanks, Miss Tania! You’re THE B-E-S-T!! Happy Saturday!

  8. Lori Baxter says:

Does the sweatshirt run true to size and if you don’t mind me asking, what brand is it?

    1. Lori, it is by Active, USA and I am wearing a medium.

  9. Love. Love. Love this outfit! The booties are super cute! Unfortunately I have yet to find a pair that are comfortable. I purchased a pair of open toe black ones last year, wore them once and my toes had blisters for a week! Any suggestions!

  10. When I saw the headline I thought you would be talking about distressed jeans! Ha ha nope! I haven’t seen these sweatshirts around before so this is all new to me. I do love your bag today and ended up buying your Chico’s leopard print bag from yesterday b/c it was so adorable. Thanks for the tips!
