WEAR COLORS IN THE SAME COLOR FAMILY FOR A POLISHED LOOK

Normally, I love wearing bright colors in almost every hue. But, there are times when I want to wear shades of brown, and fall is one of those times. This year, I am constantly buying shades of brown, and I especially love camel, caramel, and rust. The only shade that I don’t seem to love is the deep, dark chocolate brown.

I love chocolate brown on other people, but for some reason, it doesn’t look good on me. I am sure that it is because of my coloring, and most people that I see wearing that dark shade of brown have a darker complexion and hair color. Because I love chocolate brown, I’ll try to incorporate it into my wardrobe on my lower half. So, pants, shoes, and a handbag will be how I’ll use them in my outfits.

This outfit is a layering one. I wore this out to eat with Joe on Saturday night, and he was very complimentary of the look. It is a look that is polished, put-together, and chic. The colors blend seamlessly, and they are all in the same color family. Keeping the colors in the same color family will make your outfit look like you put a lot of time and effort into it.

The camel v-neck sweater and blazer that you will see in a minute, are both from the JCrew factory store. I like JCrew, but I absolutely love the factory store. It isn’t the price that makes the difference, it is actually the styles. You will see me linking to JCrew Factory way more often than the JCrew store. Ssssh, don’t tell them, they might take them offline like they did Loft factory and Ann Taylor factory. UGH!!!

This gorgeous wool-blend camel v-neck sweater is PEREFCT, and I do mean, perfect, for fall! The color, the length, and the deep v neckline are all details that I love. I wore a denim shirt under this sweater when we went to dinner, and it looked great. I am wearing a medium in the sweater, and it is machine washable!

For jewelry, I stayed with the color scheme and wore gold. My large, but lightweight hoop earrings are the AVI, and you see me wear these all of the time! The statement necklace is not lightweight, but it is one that I LOVE! It looks great with a lot of things, but I really love it with sweaters. Plus, the mixed metals help this necklace to go with any jewelry that you wear.

I think the schoolboy houndstooth blazer pulls the look together in a very polished way. The outfit is casual but very polished and sophisticated-looking. This is a wool-blend blazer, and it is a classic style that you will be able to wear for years. I sized up so that I could wear the blazer over a sweater, I am wearing a 12, and it fits great.

I love this Tory Burch McGraw tote!!! This color is amazing, and the tote is the perfect size for me. The color of this bag is great for fall, but it is one that can be carried all year round since it is a beautiful neutral. As an added bonus, I had bought a felt liner for another handbag, and it fits this bag perfectly. So, all of my items are nice and organized which makes them easy to find.

These Dojo, 7 For All Mankind dark wash jeans are one of my favorites. Fair warning, though, because they are also one of the most expensive pairs of jeans that I own. I did buy them when I saw them on sale, but even on sale, they are still the most expensive pair that I own. These flare jeans are LONG, and I have on a shorter version than the regular style. These are over 34″ long, but I linked to a pair above that is 32″ long. I figured that was more realistic for most people, but if you need the longer version, here is that link. I am wearing my usual size 30, and they fit like a glove.

To keep my jeans from dragging the floor, I added these beautiful suede and leather ankle boots. I love the different textures on the boot, and I think that detail gives them a lot of pizzaz. These boots run true to size, and I am wearing my usual size 9.

I saw that my sponsored post with Walmart confused some of you. Walmart asked me to try L’Oreal products, and one of the products that I tried was the Midnight Serum. The confusion happened because I am a true lover and user of Rodan + Fields products. Since early 2016, I’ve been using RF products, and I became a consultant to get the best possible price and be able to get them for you also.

I would LOVE for everyone reading this post to use these products, but I know that isn’t going to happen. These products are amazing, they work, but they are on the expensive side. So, I said that I would try other products “for you”, but “I” am going to be using RF!!!

In fact, while I was in Nashville last week, I was invited to a ZOOM call with the founders of Rodan + Fields, Katie Rodan, and Kathy Fields. In the call, someone asked what the number one thing that you could do for your skin was. Kathy answered that sunscreen and protecting your skin from the sun was the #1 thing that you could do to help your skin. Katie had a different answer, and it was one that has made me get my butt in gear. She said that “rolling” every night was the best thing to help aging skin.

If you are not familiar with that term, she was referring to the AMP Derma-Roller that I have, but don’t use very often. So, I have decided that for the next 60 days, I am going to faithfully use my roller nightly, along with my regular regimen that I use. If anyone wants to join me in this challenge, you would need the AMP MD System. To help you out with this purchase, I will reimburse you $25.00 when you purchase this as my Preferred Customer. PLUS, at the end of 60 days, I will gift a FREE Intensive Renewing Serum to the person with the best results. That is a gift worth $102.00!!!

I can’t wait to hear what you think about this outfit. I’ll tell you how I feel, it is one of my best outfits EVER! Lol! I really do like this outfit that much.

  1. Love the blazer! Just purchased it myself.

  2. I’m wondering about the suitcase. I have a tote with a luggage slot that slips over the handle. I’m curious about dimensions because not all airlines allow the same size bags.

  3. Love all the different shades of brown, but when it is still close to 80 I still love my pastels.
You been to NMB lately? My daughter lives there and says it is perfect weather now!

  4. Everything about the outfit is very flattering on you Tania! Color, style, jeans… Looks great!😊

  5. How does the blazer look in back? Does it look short compared to the length of the sweater? I’m a little wider on the backend and don’t want it to stand out in this look.

  6. Leah Whitley says:

I absolutely love this look. I just cannot wear wool as it causes itchy hives on me. I’ll look for these colors in other fabrics. Your outfit looks much nicer than my pumpkin spice tshirts!

  7. Absolutely LOVE the style and colors of the outfit. And you look great in it. I think I would, too. I’m desperate enough for some perfect jeans, almost to the point of spending $200. Almost!

  8. Ginger Hiller says:

I love today’s scripture! This outfit is beautiful from head to toe. While I don’t wear blazers, this color combo is one I would wear using similar pieces.

  9. I couldn’t find a place to comment on the packing video, so I apologize for asking here. What are the dimensions and brand of the bag you used in the video?

    1. Kate, are you asking about my luggage, or the black carry-on tote?

  10. Lovely outfit head to toe!

  11. I like the outfit. I’m more than a little jealous that your weather is cooperating. So far I’ve been able to wear jeans a couple of days, that is as far as our weather is likely to go until after Thanksgiving….darned sun!

  12. I like those clothes on you. Very chic.
I’m never sure if I should purchase stone washed or darker color jeans.

    1. I like both colors. Depending on my mood, and the top that I am wearing, I will switch back and forth.

  13. Katherine says:

    Hi Tania,
Is the wool-blend camel v neck sweater itchy because it has a blend of wool it it? Love the sweater.
    Thx for touching back in.

    1. Katherine, I didn’t find it itchy at all. I just sent back a long cardigan (without taking any photos) because I thought that it was itchy.

  14. If you get something tailored in my crowd you are considered uppity. LOL I love this sweater and the color. I agree with Joe. This is a great look for you.

  15. Callie Edlich says:

    Looks very sophisticated.

  16. Elizabeth says:

I think you nailed it for a great Fall look!

  17. Marcie W. says:

Beautiful outfit. Looks great on you.

  18. Look forward to hear about the rolling. Love your blog! I miss your talks with the other bloggers. You and Jennifer need to speak up more.

  19. Tania, I love the look and colors in this outfit – it looks great on you. Unfortunately, those colors do not flatter me at all. But I still think they are lovely.

    1. I love these colors for fall, but you should pick the colors that are best for your skintone.

  20. Love the outfit. It truly speaks fall!

    1. I love it too, Cheryll!

  21. I absolutely love this outfit today!!! Perfect colors for fall. When you ordered the denim shirt did you buy the light or dark shade? Will you shorten the jeans a tad? Should this style be touching the floor. Just curious because I purchased a similar style thinking I might need a tailor. Your thoughts please.

    1. I have a light and darker denim shirt. I like both colors, so that’s why I have both. I doubt that jeans should touch the floor, but I am waiting to see if they shrink any before I try to have them hemmed. A tailor is not available in my area, so I am holding out as long as possible. Lol!
