UPGRADING A SIMPLE OUTFIT

I warned you in yesterday’s blog post that the pictures today might be grainy. I am not sure what I did wrong so it makes it harder to know how to fix the problem. I am glad it is the weekend and I can work on the issue before I have to start taking a bunch more pictures. I think it has to do with the setting and the low lighting. I know when the lighting is low on my cell phone then the pictures turn out grainy. This is the very same lighting I have every day but I changed the settings on my camera when I was in Livingston. Obviously, something needs to be tweaked.50 IS NOT OLD | UPGRADING A SIMPLE OUTFITI hate being the typical “older” person who can’t adapt to the latest technology. I refuse to surrender to frumpy fashions and I am NOT going to let this camera issue get the best of me either. Thank goodness for Google and YouTube because they can be your best friend when you are trying to learn something new. I sometimes have a hard time understanding what I read in an instruction memo but if I can watch a video then I understand so much better. The only bad thing is that you have to watch and see when the video was made because all the equipment and software could have changed if the video is 4 years old.50 IS NOT OLD | UPGRADING A SIMPLE OUTFITSo, squint your eyes and let’s get on with the show. Today’s outfit is such a simple outfit, this is one that you could wear around town to go anywhere. It is a simple off white sleeveless top that is very lightweight and very comfortable. Being lightweight and comfortable is a must when you are getting in and out of the car or just sitting around the house all day. The lace inset is what “makes” this top, it takes it from plain and ordinary to special. This is a top by LOGO that I bought at the local overstock store in town.

50 IS NOT OLD | UPGRADING A SIMPLE OUTFITIt is simply amazing how adding jewelry to an otherwise plain outfit really takes it to another level. I don’t want you to think that I run around my house all decked out in jewelry, that just isn’t the case. However, if I am going out the door then I go grab my jewelry or I just feel naked. Jewelry puts the finishing touches on your outfit, you are not complete unless you add jewelry or accessories of some kind. I have all my Plunder jewelry hanging on the back of my closet door, (here is my organizer) so it is really easy to pick out what I want to wear as I walk out the bedroom door. I usually try to add a couple of necklaces to add interest and dimension and I do the same with my bracelets. I am all in gold jewelry today which is not usually the case. Here are the items that I have on. I have the Bowie earrings, Gail bracelet, Destiny necklace, and the Bella Rose necklace on today. 50 IS NOT OLD | UPGRADING A SIMPLE OUTFITI haven’t been carrying this purse yet because the color seems to be more for the fall. I am not sure why I think that because taupe is a color that can be worn all year long. I actually won this purse from Rodan + Fields and I must confess that I had never heard of the brand, probably because it is not carried in any of the stores in my vicinity. This is by Dagne Dover and it is from the Signature Collection. They call this color Bleeker Blush but I don’t know what a Bleeker is or why it would blush. Haha! This is an oversized purse (how did they know that I like big purses) and it has a large padded area for you to carry your laptop or large tablet. That is perfect for anyone who has to do business with their computer but still wants to look fashionable. 50 IS NOT OLD | UPGRADING A SIMPLE OUTFITTwo days in a row with Bermuda shorts on must be a record for me. This was a new pair for me but I can’t remember for the life of me where I bought them. I looked at the tag but the tag from the store was not attached. I really like the color and the design because they are so neutral. I think these would look great with almost any color top. I chose to wear another neutral with them today but it will be super easy to change the look of the outfit by adding another color. I will try to do that before the end of the summer.

50 IS NOT OLD | UPGRADING A SIMPLE OUTFITI guess that all that is left is my shoes. I love these shoes c/o of Nina Shoes that I got last year. I have worn them and worn them and worn them. This pair of sandals is called the Virginia (I don’t have any trouble remembering that name) This pair has a small heel which helps make the look a tiny bit dressy. I went on the Nina Shoe website to look for these shoes and was pleasantly surprised to see “me” on their page! BTW, Nina shoes have a special going on: BOGO 30% off with code: NINAFF30 valid through 1231/17.50 IS NOT OLD | UPGRADING A SIMPLE OUTFITMy offer of an extra 15% off any PC order of a Regimen/Hydration Serum combo (with a FREE travel kit) OR a PC order or a Regimen/Lash Boost combo ends Sunday. 1. You always look great and I love almost ALL of your looks.

BTW, most likely, your noisy picture problem is caused by a high ISO setting.

    1. Thanks, Dee. I am terrible at taking pictures. I usually just have it on automatic which drives “real” photographers crazy.

    Tania,

I just noticed that prior to my reply, that someone above commented that the outfit is not lavender. Well, just saying, it does look cute on you, and my view shows you wearing a white top and lavender shorts and purse and shoes.

    Still looks great!

    Kim

You look adorable! I love, love, love the purple. Another one of my favorite outfits. You look great! Had to share that and let you know I just finished reading your blog for today, Sunday, August 27, 2017 and it so resonates with me today and moving forward. Thank you Tania for your subtle ways of awareness we all need to remember!

    Have a beautiful day!

    Kim

  4. Don’t be so hard on yourself with the camera thing; you’ll get it going in no time. Love ya.

Hi Tania. For some reason I didn’t get my daily blog from you past two days. I went to the last one & then hit next to get here. I hope I’m still on your list.

    1. Johnna, I have no idea why the email program occasionally drops names off the subscription list. I have had it happen to several people. I went in and re-subscribed for you but you will have to confirm when you get the email that you wanted to be subscribed. If you do not get an email shortly then you need to look in your spam folder. These folders think that emails from bloggers are spam. ?

  6. This is my kind of outfit and that purse is to die for! And the shoes. I just love it all Tania!! You are such an inspiration to me. I too will fight the frumpy clothes until the day I leave this earth.

  7. Martha Ludlow says:

I love everything about this outfit!!

  8. I don’t know if it’s just me, but your shorts, purse and shoes all look lavender in these photos. I get the feeling they’re not, since you described the color of the purse as blush. And you kept saying these are nuetrals and I don’t consider lavender nuetral.
You look pretty in them, anyway.

    1. Sherrye, it is probably the shadow from the porch. They are all shades of beige, nothing lavender at all. Lol!

  9. Hi, Miss Tania! Hope you’re having a wonderful Saturday morning! I love your outfit! I LOVE lace! Very feminine. This look I can wear to work unless I’m doing installations. I would also wear this look to go to dinner at a casual place.

Tania, you’ve opened my eyes and your confidence has rubbed off on me! I gotta New Attitude!

Love your JEWELRY! Love your sandals and tote! I think your new photos light-up your beautiful face!

    Have a SUPER SATURDAY! ?

Tania, you can make anything look fun and classy! I just love this lacy, feminine cool outfit and it would be perfect for my upcoming trip to the Texas coast (if there still is a Texas coast by then! Praying.) On my kindle the shorts and purse look lavender. I’d Love to find those exact shorts! And I just have to have that bracelet! I hope youre having a blast!!

  11. Very nice going-around-town outfit. Since I retired, I’m wearing casual more than not. Thanks for showing me how to be casual and put together. BTW — I have that same organizer. I LOVE IT.

  12. Just discovered your blog and love it. I am 64 in NH and your style suits me to a T!

    1. Welcome, Chris! I am so glad that you stumbled across my blog.

  13. Keep your chin up, you will get this camera “thing” figured out. The shorts are cute but I like you in more color.

    1. Awww, thanks, Sandy. The problem is that I don’t mess with it enough to get good at it. Maybe I will have time over the weekend to figure it out.

  14. What? you don’t clean the house with full jewelry? That gave me a good laugh- you look great as usual & the pics are not really of poor quality. You’re just much more critical of yourself. Have a good one.

    1. Haha, Lisa. I love my jewelry and I put it on the minute I step outside the house. I also take it off the minute I step back inside the house. Lol!

  15. Helena Vernon says:

I’d like to order the lash boost, can you please confirm if you can ship to U.K.?

    1. I will email you, Helena.
