50 IS NOT OLD | TWISTED KNOT DETAILS ARE SLIMMING | FASHION OVER 40I spent all day long traveling on Wednesday. I am a multi-tasker and it drives me crazy to only do one thing at a time. So, while Energizer Bunny Friend drove the car I worked on the blog. I cropped and edited the photos, unloaded them, and then wrote today’s post all while traveling down 1-40 at a fairly rapid pace. Lol! 50 IS NOT OLD | TWISTED KNOT DETAILS ARE SLIMMING | FASHION OVER 40After the post was done then I moved on to calling some of my partners to tell them about all the exciting news that was announced at the event we went to. I love talking to these ladies and even though most of us have never met in person, I feel like I know them and I love talking to them on the phone. I love that the blog has enabled me to have so many new friends that I would never have ever met otherwise. The internet is a wonderful thing. It is amazing how people from all over the world can talk to each other so easily. It used to freak me out a little when I would think about people that I didn’t know looking at my blog and now I totally embrace that. And, I especially love it when you make comments because that gives me an insight into your life. 50 IS NOT OLD | TWISTED KNOT DETAILS ARE SLIMMING | FASHION OVER 40On yesterday’s blog, I wore a jumpsuit and several of you commented that you wear maxi’s instead of jumpsuits. So, I decided to wear a maxi today. They are so easy to wear and really, really comfortable. I know a lot of petite ladies feel like they can’t wear a maxi but I promise you that you can. You just need to buy one that is for a petite person and wear heels if you feel like you still need extra height. This maxi has a flattering twisted knot detail that is placed high on the dress. The v-neck plus the knot detail is very slimming. I love the details at the bottom of the dress. I think that the detail at the bottom of the dress is what makes this dress stand out from the pack. This maxi is by Eliza J and it is machine washable. 50 IS NOT OLD | TWISTED KNOT DETAILS ARE SLIMMING | FASHION OVER 40These Sydney hammered gold hoop earrings with the blue fringe are so cute and striking. They have a 3″ drop and these are truly statement earrings! Fringe earrings are really HUGE this year! The Mary Ellen bracelet is so cute. It is in a gold-tone and it has a very easy clasp. But, it is the fringe that makes it so cute. I have a simple little gold bar monogrammed necklace called the Jefra. The Celine monogram chain bracelet is no longer available. May is my 2nd year anniversary with Plunder and I am celebrating all month long. When you make a 50.00 purchase (excluding taxes and shipping) you will receive a FREE piece of jewelry from me as a gift! I added a platform shoe to my look to make sure that my dress didn’t drag the ground. I hate it when my dress is too long and I keep stepping on it. 50 IS NOT OLD | TWISTED KNOT DETAILS ARE SLIMMING | FASHION OVER 40I would love to have everyone shout out where you are reading this post from. Southern Indiana. My friend told me I needed to check out some blogs on fashion and gave me this one to check out. I was complaining that I could not figure out what to wear or buy as I got older. Just had to get my groove back! I was hooked! Thanks for all your inspiration!

  7. I found you on pinterest while looking for styles for women over 60. I love that you look stylish without looking like you are trying to be younger than you are. You looking good at any age which was what I wanted. I live in Peyton CO which is just east of Colorado Springs. Love this maxi dress.

  8. I love maxi dressses and this one looks so cute and comfy! You mentioned petite ladies might think they can’t wear one but I’m on the other spectrum – 6’ tall – and I can never find any long enough. I finally found a long skirt with one of those wide, gathered waistbands, so I shimmy, shimmy that waistband down as low as I can (that’s still appropriate!), top it with a long shirt and then it’s close to a maxi skirt for me. Your jumpsuit yesterday reminded me of a incident from my childhood: When I was 5-6 years old, I had on a short jumpsuit with an elasticized top. I was playing outside and was stung by something underneath my jumpsuit. I started hollering like crazy and my Grandma hurried over and just yanked that jumpsuit off my shoulders and down to my feet in a flash to make sure whatever stinging insect that was stuck inside could get out! LOL

    Hi Tania!

I really loved both the jumpsuit you wore yesterday and the maxi today. I would gladly wear both! Might I also comment that you always look so great and put together. I can never figure out how to mix and match so that I look like I have an “outfit” on. At 58 I’m semi-retired from a nursing career and never really have a reason to dress up, so I never wear jewelry or heels. But after seeing you I’m starting to rethink that!
Thanks for such a great blog!

  10. Wow!! Just Wow!!! Your readers are from all over the globe! I am also from a small town in Kentucky. We have a Belk and a Cato. You feature fashions from those stores so often, that really drew me to you. I also found you via Pinterest when I searched fashion for women over 50. A lot of your thoughts and turns of phrase make you seem so familiar to me.
