50 IS NOT OLD | TWISTED KNOT DETAILS ARE SLIMMING | FASHION OVER 40I spent all day long traveling on Wednesday. I am a multi-tasker and it drives me crazy to only do one thing at a time. So, while Energizer Bunny Friend drove the car I worked on the blog. I cropped and edited the photos, unloaded them, and then wrote today’s post all while traveling down 1-40 at a fairly rapid pace. Lol! 50 IS NOT OLD | TWISTED KNOT DETAILS ARE SLIMMING | FASHION OVER 40After the post was done then I moved on to calling some of my partners to tell them about all the exciting news that was announced at the event we went to. I love talking to these ladies and even though most of us have never met in person, I feel like I know them and I love talking to them on the phone. I love that the blog has enabled me to have so many new friends that I would never have ever met otherwise. The internet is a wonderful thing. It is amazing how people from all over the world can talk to each other so easily. It used to freak me out a little when I would think about people that I didn’t know looking at my blog and now I totally embrace that. And, I especially love it when you make comments because that gives me an insight into your life. 50 IS NOT OLD | TWISTED KNOT DETAILS ARE SLIMMING | FASHION OVER 40On yesterday’s blog, I wore a jumpsuit and several of you commented that you wear maxi’s instead of jumpsuits. So, I decided to wear a maxi today. They are so easy to wear and really, really comfortable. I know a lot of petite ladies feel like they can’t wear a maxi but I promise you that you can. You just need to buy one that is for a petite person and wear heels if you feel like you still need extra height. This maxi has a flattering twisted knot detail that is placed high on the dress. The v-neck plus the knot detail is very slimming. I love the details at the bottom of the dress. I think that the detail at the bottom of the dress is what makes this dress stand out from the pack. This maxi is by Eliza J and it is machine washable. 50 IS NOT OLD | TWISTED KNOT DETAILS ARE SLIMMING | FASHION OVER 40These Sydney hammered gold hoop earrings with the blue fringe are so cute and striking. They have a 3″ drop and these are truly statement earrings! Fringe earrings are really HUGE this year! The Mary Ellen bracelet is so cute. It is in a gold-tone and it has a very easy clasp. But, it is the fringe that makes it so cute. I have a simple little gold bar monogrammed necklace called the Jefra. The Celine monogram chain bracelet is no longer available. May is my 2nd year anniversary with Plunder and I am celebrating all month long. When you make a 50.00 purchase (excluding taxes and shipping) you will receive a FREE piece of jewelry from me as a gift! Join me in the business of Plunder Design this month and I will gift you 2 pieces of jewelry. Go to plunderdesign.com/taniastephens and hit the shop tab. Pick a party with my name on it and then have fun.

50 IS NOT OLD | TWISTED KNOT DETAILS ARE SLIMMING | FASHION OVER 40

I added a platform shoe to my look to make sure that my dress didn’t drag the ground. I hate it when my dress is too long and I keep stepping on it. 50 IS NOT OLD | TWISTED KNOT DETAILS ARE SLIMMING | FASHION OVER 40I would love to have everyone shout out where you are reading this post from. What part of the world are you in and HOW did you ever even find me. After all, I live in a tiny little town in Southwestern Virginia. What were the odds of you ever finding me?

I really appreciate all of the shares and the pins of my outfits that you have been doing. PLEASE continue to do that, you won’t believe the difference it has made in my number of visitors to my blog.

Hi. I am from Coventry in the UK…found you on pinterest. Love your style and you keep me inspired at 55.

  3. Hi Tania- I was born in Brooklyn, raised in New Orleans and I’ve been living in Atlanta for the past 25 years. I found you via a “link up” in late 2015 (I think) – you had on a graphic T-shirt, Old Navy jeans and your Chanel espadrilles, I loved that look on you and and I’ve been following you since. Thanks for all your inspiration!

  4. I live in Grand Rapids Michigan. I see a few other fellow Michiganders follow you I found you on Pinterest. I enjoy your style and tips and Sunday messages!

  5. NE Victoria Australia. I live in a small rural community but work in a regional centre of about 100,000 people. I found you on Pinterest. Have traveled quite extensively in the USA but never to your part, a shame. Love looking at your daily outfits not that l would ever need a wardrobe as large as yours appears to be. The only sad part is we are always heading into the opposite season. We don’t have the same stores as you but l did recognise many of them when l was there last year. Clothing in your country is so much cheaper than here and don’t get me started on cosmetics.

  8. I live in raleigh, North Carolina and I found you on Pinterest wearing an adorable dress from Chadwick’s of Boston, I believe. It was white lace, sleeveless and gradually became coral colored at the bottom. Loved it and bought it for an upcoming cruise. I’m 62 and I just love your style and fashion sense! Thanks for helping out an old lady with none!

Hi Tania, I found your post on Pinterest while looking for styles for mature women. Your blog is the most realistic for my lifestyle, and I enjoy your stories. I’m from Sarnia, Ontario, Canada, across the river from the U.S. and have the advantage of shopping in both countries. I look forward to your daily post. Keep up the good work.

  16. Angie Chronister says:

I’m from Mtn Grove, MO. That’s the Ozarks. I moved here from Kansas City to live on our family farm. You have inspired many of my outfits. Thank you!

  24. Lillian Grabow says:

Tania, I am reading this blog from a remote island in the Pacific Ocean. I found “50 IS NOT OLD” while browsing pinterest. When I saw the title “50 is not old” and being in the over 50 group, I had to take a look. I was hooked!!! I love your blog and being that I am “disconnected” from the “real world” for months at a time on this island your blog helps me stay up on the current fashions. I loved the blog with the Old Navy yellow dress and the Rockstar Raw edge jeans so much that I purchased the entire outfit. Thank you for being so brave and doing this blog.

  25. Charlcy Green says:

Another lovely outfit and I love the earrings! I too have to multitask, especially better than watching Ed’s driving! Altho, thank God we’ve been safe so far. Glad you got to spend the day w your Energizer Bunny!

  26. Beautiful from Northwest OH, love the maxi dress!

  27. I live in a suburb of Houston, in the great state of TEXAS. But I grew up in a small town about an hour south of Houston. I found you through a google search for ideas to update my wardrobe. Pretty sure you’d only been blogging about 2 weeks. And, I knew immediately that if we lived near each other, we’d probably be getting into some kind of “trouble” together. LOL I was searching that day b/c, even though I come from a long line of Southern Divas, I wanted some direction. I want to stay fashionable but don’t want to look like I’m trying to compete with my daughter…one, I would never do that, b/c “not classy,” and two, she’d win. She’s adorable, if I do say so myself.

  28. I like this a lot but I’m so short that I would have to cut a lot of the pretty design off at the bottom. I can’t wear heels. It looks really good on you though!

  29. I love the dress! Because of you I think I’m going to be brave and try a jumpsuit…eek! I’m from Arroyo Grande CA. I first saw you on Pinterest looking for fashion for the over 50 crowd

  30. I’m in the Land of Lincoln, Illinois. Found your blog after Googling fashion over 50. I’ve stayed reading your blog because of your funny, down to earth personality!

  32. Enjoy your blog and I live in Spring, Texas. Maxi is great for our hot summers but going to look for one with sleeves. These ol’ arms are out of shape – 75 years young and still a tad bit vain! I love your nail polish color. Do you mind sharing brand and color? Thanks for being a style maven!

  33. Sue Epling says:

  40. Sue S (MN) says:

Hello! I’m from Hugo, MN, a northeastern suburb of St. Paul, Minnesota. Love your blog, I think I found it in a link from another I read, Jolynne Shane. Glad I did!

  41. Teresa Spivey says:

Southern Indiana. My friend told me I needed to check out some blogs on fashion and gave me this one to check out. I was complaining that I could not figure out what to wear or buy as I got older. Just had to get my groove back! I was hooked! Thanks for all your inspiration!

  42. I found you on pinterest while looking for styles for women over 60. I love that you look stylish without looking like you are trying to be younger than you are. You looking good at any age which was what I wanted. I live in Peyton CO which is just east of Colorado Springs. Love this maxi dress.

  43. I love maxi dressses and this one looks so cute and comfy! You mentioned petite ladies might think they can’t wear one but I’m on the other spectrum – 6’ tall – and I can never find any long enough. I finally found a long skirt with one of those wide, gathered waistbands, so I shimmy, shimmy that waistband down as low as I can (that’s still appropriate!), top it with a long shirt and then it’s close to a maxi skirt for me. Your jumpsuit yesterday reminded me of a incident from my childhood: When I was 5-6 years old, I had on a short jumpsuit with an elasticized top. I was playing outside and was stung by something underneath my jumpsuit. I started hollering like crazy and my Grandma hurried over and just yanked that jumpsuit off my shoulders and down to my feet in a flash to make sure whatever stinging insect that was stuck inside could get out! LOL

  44. JoEllen Can says:

    Hi Tania!

I really loved both the jumpsuit you wore yesterday and the maxi today. I would gladly wear both! Might I also comment that you always look so great and put together. I can never figure out how to mix and match so that I look like I have an “outfit” on. At 58 I’m semi-retired from a nursing career and never really have a reason to dress up, so I never wear jewelry or heels. But after seeing you I’m starting to rethink that!
Thanks for such a great blog!

    JoEllen

  45. Wow!! Just Wow!!! Your readers are from all over the globe! I am also from a small town in Kentucky. We have a Belk and a Cato. You feature fashions from those stores so often, that really drew me to you. I also found you via Pinterest when I searched fashion for women over 50. A lot of your thoughts and turns of phrase make you seem so familiar to me.

  46. Your blog popped up on FB, I think! Love fashion, and I’m from New Braunfels, TX!

  47. Your jumpsuit was gorgeous but at $178.00 approx. I find it amazing how you can afford a different outfit each day. Are you buying and returning or what is your secret. Your closet must be the size of most people’s living rooms. I enjoy looking at your blog each day. BUT it makes women spend more money than they should for things they really do not need. How would you answer this. Please

  48. Love the dress. I have always felt frumpy in a long dress. I’ll have to give it another try. I am from Jacksonville, Arkansas (neat Little Rock). I found you on Pinterest. I always loved your looks for our 50+ girls. I wanted to dress like you as I lost weight from surgery. I decided to look you up and started following. I look forward to reading you every morning. You even inspired me to start my own blog.

  52. Love the dress, but even when wearing heels (which I can’t do since I broke my leg wearing platform wedges!), it would still drag the ground and isn’t made so that I can hem it easily, as so often is the case! But it looks great on you!

  53. I’m 70 years old and live just north of San Antonio, Texas. A friend told me about your blog. Totally agree that short people can wear maxis. I’m 5’3” and have bought a couple in petites from Talbots. Actually cooler than wearing pants in south Texas summers.

  54. Diane McCarty says:

I’m from Tupelo, MS…..birthplace of Elvis Presley!

  64. I live between Albuquerque and Santa Fe. I love maxis, and really like the one you are wearing, but what can I wear to cover my arms without looking frumpy? I am short! Would maxi skirts be better?

  65. pdoetaydoe says:
