THIS IS THE DAY THAT WE CELEBRATE OUR INDEPENDENCE
Happy 4th of July everyone! For those here in the United States, this is the day that we celebrate our independence. The US has always been proud of its freedom and liberties, and I think that is one reason that COVID-19 has hit us so hard. We like being able to go and come, and we please without having to ask permission from anyone. So, staying at home or wearing a mask, goes against our “rebel” nature. That rebel nature is what won us our independence, but it might be biting us in the rear when it comes to this virus.
We will be staying at home this year for the 4th, but it will still be a lot of fun. I think that I’ll spend the day by the pool, eat watermelon until I pop, and then grill out steaks on the grill. We won’t be going to see the fireworks in town, but we do have some sparklers. Lol! How are you celebrating this year; grilling out, firework, lake, beach, sitting in front of the computer, or something else?
I love wearing red, white, and blue to celebrate the 4th, but I didn’t want to wear stars and stripes. So, instead, I decided to wear this white tie-front shirt from Loft. I love the fact that it comes pre-tied, which makes it easy to wear. However, I am not positive that I like the high-low length of the shirt. It is a tad bit longer in the back than I would like. But, it does cover my rear since it is so long. I love the deep v neckline and the shirred detail, which gives the shirt extra roominess. I am wearing a medium, and it is still very roomy. Also, this piece was made in a HERproject partner factory.
I added my Lilly Pulitzer Zanzibar hoop earrings with the dusting of crystals. Lilly had a huge sale earlier this week, and these earrings were in the sale, so they are completely sold out now. But, I’ll link to another pair that is similar that I have. The bracelets that I have on are the Fallyn cuff link bracelet and the Love bracelet, which is also sold out. I also added the Love necklace, which matches the bracelet and the mixed beaded adjustable necklace.
The indigo perfect crop pant from Talbots is a great pant. They are a straight leg fit, and the buttons at the hem add a unique detail and a little bit of flair. I have found that I need to size down when ordering pants from Talbots, so I am wearing a size 8, and they fit me great.
My red espadrilles from J Crew added a touch of red to the outfit. I think they really POP, and I love how it brings the red, white, and blue concept together. These were bought early this spring, and they are already sold out. So, here are a few others instead. I am wearing my usual size 9 in these, and they fit me great.
I wanted to add a touch more red to tie the whole outfit together, so I tied a colorful scarf on the handle of my Eliza May large straw tote. This scarf is an old one that I bought from Talbots years ago. I love the bright white of the daisies that pop against the darker background. And, the border of red was just enough to make the outfit look “put together.”
I hope that you are having a wonderful 4th of July, and I want to remind everyone to be safe, especially if you are around fireworks. Also, if you didn’t see my post on Thursday that had a ton of sales listed for you, then be sure to take advantage of those and save your self some money. I’ve already placed several orders, I love nice things, and I love getting them at a discount.

Revelation 3:20
20 Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.
Love the casual look and obviously the colors! Staying in our new home in the mtns. No fireworks, but can hear them in the distance! Happy 4th!
This is such a cute outfit! I bought the same top and had a similar concern as you about the back being so long. I am trying to decide whether to keep it. I love how it looks on you! Happy 4th!
I love it from the front. Maybe it could be hemmed???
“That rebel nature is what won us our independence, but it might be biting us in the rear when it comes to this virus.” Exactly! Thank you so much for saying this. We all have to row the boat the same direction at this time, no rebels- if we want to get out of this mess.
Some don’t like anyone telling them what to do, even if it is for their own good.
Happy Independence day!!!
Happy Fourth to you and your family. I had one fashion blogger say, “Have a Happy Fourth if you celebrate it” and I was floored. Then I realized there are Americans who will not celebrate this day when they are blessed to live in the greatest country on Earth. Our family will certainly celebrate freedom. I love seeing that your family does too.
You look great and the scarf just pulls it all together. My go to look for this day is usually a white shirt, blue jeans, black flats and a red bandana.
I thought that she might mean that people follow her from other countries, so they wouldn’t be celebrating like the US.
Love your posts and outfits. From the great state of of SD. Watched last night the celebration at Mt. Rushmore, planes flying by Mt. Rushmore, what a tribute to the armed forces and our
Independence. Enjoy the 4th!!
WOW!!! That is very impressive! What a fabulous celebration!
This is a great July 4th outfit. Have a great weekend!
Awww, thanks, Gayle! I hope your day is going great!
Love the outfit. Very festive for the 4th! I have the same shoes. Love them paired with a straw tote.
I love being “subtly” festive. Lol!
Perfect outfit for the holiday. We are busy on the farm harvesting wheat…those amber waves of grain…so there are no party plans today. Have a great day!
I bet it is beautiful!
