THE WALL DADDY BUILT
I hope everyone enjoyed my guest posters, Bertha and Sandy. If you missed their posts, then go here and here to check them out. I really had fun with them on our travels to Tennessee. We stayed at my mom and dad’s house on Day Mountain. We slept upstairs in what we call a sun room. It is surrounded on three sides with large windows. You can see all the lights of the town below at night. You can also watch the sun rise every morning, it is spectacular. There is no shortage of beds in that room, since my mother bought twin beds. There is also an antique bed that was my Aunt T’s (Tipsy Topsy), and a beautiful murphy bed chest.
I thought you might like to see what the view from the sun room looks like. My sister or brother-in-law took this picture, when they were there. It looks so serene.
This is the last photo shoot in front of this gorgeous rock wall till my next visit. The rock was actually harvested from the mountain and my father, who is a brick mason, laid the stone. I love the colors of the rock, it is so homey. This is the outside of their fireplace. The red of my jacket really pops against this wall. But, my hair kind of blends in. Haha
I love jackets and cardigans! They are my best friend because of their ability to camouflage any extra poundage. My middle is not small, I have no hourglass curves, but a jacket really creates the curves for me. I bought this jacket at Cato’s but I will warn you of a problem that I had with the jacket. I loved the color of the jacket, but it is not lined, so the red rubbed off on my new t-shirt from the Gap. Lesson learned, always make sure jackets are lined. Here are a couple misses jackets.
You might have already noticed the small purse trend for this Spring. I carry BIG purses, but I really liked the look of this little purse. I don’t know if the color shows true on the web, it is a light gray. It looks cute to carry, but my wallet wouldn’t even fit inside. When I carry it again, I will have to change to a smaller wallet. I bought this at TJ Maxx on clearance for 15.00. I thought these were cute.
The side profile of the outfit. I like that you can see the tassel on my bracelet. I now notice that the jeans look a little baggy on me. These are Earl Jeans that I bought at TJ Maxx around Christmas. I don’t think I have lost that much weight, so they must have looked like this all along. Goodness, I need to start looking at my back view before I leave the house. At least the pockets on the jeans hit at the right spot, (the pockets should end at the bottom curve of your rear) but the jeans are just too loose. Here is a misses pair, and here is a plus size pair.
Look who was straight out of bed and came to join me in my photos. My oldest grandbaby, Matti B., she was loving the timer on the camera.
I think this is my favorite picture of me and Matti ever!!! I can just see love and pride in both our eyes.
Don’t you just love her blue fingernails? She is so funny, her mother is a hair stylist, so she always looks my hair over when I see her. This time she wanted to know if I had orange or red in my hair. I think we may have another stylist in the family in the near future.
So adios from Day Mountain. It was fun visiting Tennessee. Most of my family lives in this area, so it is always hard to leave. I am grateful for social media that makes staying in touch a little easier.

Great outfit! Lucky you to stay in a room with those vistas.
I am a little behind in checking my emails, but I love this post! The view is absolutely beautiful! I can just envision the room you and your gurls stayed in! The wall is inspiring! You dad is a master craftsman. And your outfit is so cute! You look great in those bright colors like red and purple. I love the pics with your granddaughter! I have a five year old grandson and just can’t get enough of him! Glad you had a great trip. – Amy –

I so enjoy your posts with all the great outfit ideas!! Makes being over 50 fabulous!! Keep them coming!
Ditto to all comments made on here today. You look fabulous and that picture of you and your granddaughter looking at each other is priceless. Thanks for sharing.
You and Matti are adorable together!
I love the picture of you and Matti. It’s so sweet!
Fabulous outfit and you look great in it!!
Several of you have asked about my shoes, they are old, old, old. I bought them years ago, and they are by Kathy Van Zeeland. I have worn these so much, they are about worn out. If I run across a pair that is similar, I will put it on the blog.
Love the outfit and the shoes!!! They are just perfect!
That is a phenomenal view! It must make you break into How Great Thou Art when you wake up. Well, I went to the Premium Outlet of Tampa while I was in Florida. It just opened and it is fabulous. I made a few trips there because it was only 5 minutes from my son’s home. Love the Talbot’s Outlet. You have to be a savvy shopper because many things at some stores were the same as the retail stores and you get coupons for Kohls, Limited, etc. which make the deals better at the retail stores. Too bad about that color rubbing off. That’s why I just never feel like I can trust what I buy at Old Navy etc. A cardi and a bright scarf are so classic and great for spring. Simple but colorful outfit.
Love the ensemble, Tania! Your grand-daughter is a cutie, and I love the picture of you two looking into each other’s eyes. Happy Easter!
Loved this outfit! And the picture of you and your Granddaughter…..there are no words!
I LOVE the middle picture of you and your granddaughter, my heart melted when I saw it! Grandkids are such a blessing from God, I have 9! By the way, you look awesome!!!
Absolutely love the color and it looks so good on you! Your granddaughter is so adorable. You should frame the picture of the two of you. Very sweet!
Love your blog!! I would like to find some summer scarves like yours, the ones I have are too bulky. It seems like all of mine have too much fabric. I also like to wear red, it makes me feel good 🙂
Cute outfit and I love the shoes? Where did you buy them and what brand please!
I love the shoes too!! wonder if i can find them here in Sydney??
This is good look for any woman no matter her age. I love the shoes! But you didnt give any info on them☹️
Thank you so much. You are my “personal shopper.” I really appreciate all of the work you do to provide links. It must take a lot of time.
Veee
What a trip you had! Did you grow up in this house? It sounds wonderful and the view is spectacular! Love the outfit! The jacket came across on my screen almost a coral. So pretty. Recently went to Cato. So much has come in for spring it was hard to choose. I stayed in a neutral palette with a scarf for color. The hard part was deciding on which scarf. Great selection they have. Did I miss where you found your shoes? Always looking for cute flats. I look forward to you each day. Keep on inspiring us and share your friends again. I enjoyed seeing them.
This is my kind of outfit. I may do something similar to this for Easter Sunday at church. I’ll be teaching 1st and 2nd graders for 1 of the services and attending the other. I need something nice but something I can move around in easily. Maybe I’ll dress it up a bit with a pair of heels. My church is on the casual side, I think this just might work.
Now why haven’t I worn a pretty scarf w/red jacket?! What a great rock fireplace wall. Precious pic of you&grandaughter. Love that mountain view! Enjoyed your post today!??
Thanks for the inspiration. Always look forward to seeing your posts.
That view is just gorgeous! Does mom take reservations? Love this outfit. Do you really think your pants are baggy? I think they look perfect. This is where I usually have an issue too. If I feel they are too snug, I go up a size. If you can get them on, should you just assume they will stretch out a bit?
It is a fine line Linda, with jeans. When they fit perfect, you can bet they will stretch out. I have some jeans that look and fit perfect, but before the end of the day, I can pull them off without un-buttoning them. Haha
Love the outfit – very simple, very classy! Red never fails!
What type of tee shirts do you find fit the best under a cardigan? Mine are too baggy or too snug and I won’t take my cardigan off. LOL Your granddaughter is adorable. Day Mountain sounds beautiful. Thanks for all your honesty in your blogs. You always look so stylish and put together.
When it comes to a shirt under a cardigan, I am not that picky. I don’t want something that is too tight and will show my rolls. And the other problem is the sleeves. I don’t want something with bulky sleeves that show a line where the sleeve ends under the cardigan sleeve.
adorable! i look so forward to your posts ~ Love them all! <3
Have you checked out the blog “Amy’s Creative Pursuits”? It’s an over 50 blog that’s very enjoyable. Her most recent post mentioned getting bloggers together and I thought of you. The view from your parent’s home is breathtaking ?
Thanks Allison! I will check her out.
