THE WALL DADDY BUILT
I hope everyone enjoyed my guest posters, Bertha and Sandy. If you missed their posts, then go here and here to check them out. I really had fun with them on our travels to Tennessee. We stayed at my mom and dad’s house on Day Mountain. We slept upstairs in what we call a sun room. It is surrounded on three sides with large windows. You can see all the lights of the town below at night. You can also watch the sun rise every morning, it is spectacular. There is no shortage of beds in that room, since my mother bought twin beds. There is also an antique bed that was my Aunt T’s (Tipsy Topsy), and a beautiful murphy bed chest.
I thought you might like to see what the view from the sun room looks like. My sister or brother-in-law took this picture, when they were there. It looks so serene.
This is the last photo shoot in front of this gorgeous rock wall till my next visit. The rock was actually harvested from the mountain and my father, who is a brick mason, laid the stone. I love the colors of the rock, it is so homey. This is the outside of their fireplace. The red of my jacket really pops against this wall. But, my hair kind of blends in. Haha
I love jackets and cardigans! They are my best friend because of their ability to camouflage any extra poundage. My middle is not small, I have no hourglass curves, but a jacket really creates the curves for me. I bought this jacket at Cato’s but I will warn you of a problem that I had with the jacket. I loved the color of the jacket, but it is not lined, so the red rubbed off on my new t-shirt from the Gap. Lesson learned, always make sure jackets are lined. Here are a couple misses jackets.
You might have already noticed the small purse trend for this Spring. I carry BIG purses, but I really liked the look of this little purse. I don’t know if the color shows true on the web, it is a light gray. It looks cute to carry, but my wallet wouldn’t even fit inside. When I carry it again, I will have to change to a smaller wallet. I bought this at TJ Maxx on clearance for 15.00. I thought these were cute.
The side profile of the outfit. I like that you can see the tassel on my bracelet. I now notice that the jeans look a little baggy on me. These are Earl Jeans that I bought at TJ Maxx around Christmas. I don’t think I have lost that much weight, so they must have looked like this all along. Goodness, I need to start looking at my back view before I leave the house. At least the pockets on the jeans hit at the right spot, (the pockets should end at the bottom curve of your rear) but the jeans are just too loose. Here is a misses pair, and here is a plus size pair.
Look who was straight out of bed and came to join me in my photos. My oldest grandbaby, Matti B., she was loving the timer on the camera.
I think this is my favorite picture of me and Matti ever!!! I can just see love and pride in both our eyes.
Don’t you just love her blue fingernails? She is so funny, her mother is a hair stylist, so she always looks my hair over when I see her. This time she wanted to know if I had orange or red in my hair. I think we may have another stylist in the family in the near future.
So adios from Day Mountain. It was fun visiting Tennessee. Most of my family lives in this area, so it is always hard to leave. I am grateful for social media that makes staying in touch a little easier.

Great outfit! Lucky you to stay in a room with those vistas.
I am a little behind in checking my emails, but I love this post! The view is absolutely beautiful! I can just envision the room you and your gurls stayed in! The wall is inspiring! You dad is a master craftsman. And your outfit is so cute! You look great in those bright colors like red and purple. I love the pics with your granddaughter! I have a five year old grandson and just can’t get enough of him! Glad you had a great trip. – Amy –
