The Latest J.Jill Summer Try On Haul
Y’all, I swear that J.Jill just keeps getting better and better!!! I’ve always been a fan of the quality of their clothing, but some of their styles were too blah for this color-loving gurl. NOT ANYMORE!!! J.Jill is adding color by the boatloads, and the latest J.Jill summer try-on haul is proof of that. And they just launched a new collection called “Brights.” Guess who needs to do another try-on haul?!?
My Latest J.Jill Summer Try On Haul For May
I think we can all agree that this outfit is definitely colorful! I love the printed top with the Snap Pea green pants, but I think I need a smaller size for both pieces. J.Jill clothing does run a little big, but I have difficulty picking a small to try on. Lol!
If the colors are too bright for you, adding this navy cardigan is an easy way to tone them down. Navy is one of my favorite neutrals, and I wear it all the time. It is more forgiving than black but grounds an outfit. I love the navy combined with the bright green pants. I left without the green pants, but seeing them in these photos makes me want to order them. They scream spring and summer and look so fun!
I loved the top with the green pants, but it can be worn in other ways. I know it would look fabulous with white or navy, but I wanted to see how it looked with jeans.
These are some of my favorite jeans from J.Jill. I already own these jeans in this color and white. These are a great alternative to skinny jeans since they have a slimmer silhouette. I’m wearing a size 8, and they are slightly relaxed on me, but I think a 6 would be too tight.
Gingham is one of those prints I associate with summer. Maybe it is because of a picnic tablecloth, but I love this print! This year, check (aka gingham) is trending in shirts and tops. I’ve ordered a few of them, so I can post about the trend later.
I added the same navy cardigan to a plain white tank top. This is a layering tank; it isn’t thick, and you can see the pants underneath. It also runs small since it is for layering, and if I wanted to wear it as a top, I would need to size it up to a large.
The gingham pants are the same as the green ones in the first photo. I’m wearing a medium, but I think a small would have fit better.
One of my favorite color combinations is beige and white. These are the chosen colors for the Coastal Grandma look that was so popular last year. I think they look fabulous together and are chic and classy.
This shell is perfect for summer. It has plenty of coverage, so you don’t have to worry about your bra straps showing. Plus, the fabric is similar to a slub tee, which has a breezy feeling. A few reviews mentioned the armholes being too large, but I don’t remember that being an issue.
I added the matching cardigan for a “set” look. Adding a third piece to an outfit makes it look more thought-out and polished.
Because I love these jeans (I already own them), I decided to style them in several ways. White is so versatile, and it is perfect for summer. I like wearing white all year round, but especially in summer!
I didn’t pay attention to the size of this poncho because I thought it was a “one size” item. However, I picked up the XL/3X size, which is very oversized. Use your imagination for how it would look if it were the correct size. Lol!
I love the poncho! The print is gorgeous, and the tassels add visual interest. This would look great worn with leggings or capri leggings for a lounging around the house look.
The last way I styled the white flare jeans is with the layering tank I wore above and a beautiful light turquoise paisley ruana. I love wearing a column of color and then toping it with a blazer, jacket, kimono, etc.
Here is the same basic look, but notice how big a difference styling a column of white versus navy looks. I love both looks, but the white is much brighter and lighter than the navy.
Here is a better look at the ruana. It does have armholes, which is something I look for. I prefer my wraps, kimonos, ruanas, etc., to have armholes if possible,
Switching out the ruana for a blazer made a big difference. The outfit now looks dressier and would look great for those who work in an office. The navy tank is part of the Wearever collection, so it is soft and flowy and rarely needs steaming. It also runs TTS, if not a tiny bit on the big side. I’m wearing a medium that fits loose, but I wouldn’t want it to be any tighter.
Here is a close-up of the blazer. I love the tweed fabric and striped pattern. The buttons are gorgeous and give the blazer a dressier vibe. The blazer seems to run large to me since the medium looks like it is swallowing me. If you are between sizes, I suggest sizing down. This would look great with the column of white and with the jeans for an elevated casual outfit.
Before you ask, this dress came home with me! I love the deep plum color of the dress, and it is a flattering shape for my body shape.
The dress has a V-neckline with small feminine ruffles that draw attention to your face. The dress is fitted at the waist and then flows outward, which helps to create the illusion of a smaller waist. The only drawback to the dress is that you need to wear a racerback bra or use a bra clip to hold your straps closer together.
Or, you could add a jacket, cardigan, or this beautiful butterfly ruana and not worry about your bra straps showing. Yes, the ruana came home with me too. Lol!
I’m a sucker for a maxi dress and a long ruana. Pairing the two items together gives the look of a Grecian Goddess, and who doesn’t want to look like a Goddess???
I hope you enjoyed this very long try-on haul. Feel free to comment if there are other retailers you want me to do a try-on haul with.

The striped spectator blazer and the turquoise butterfly Ruana were my favorites. But it was hard to pick because you looked fabulous in everything!
I would like a follow up on how much the pants stretch out when you wear them. Specifically the lovely green “ stretch linen.” I have purchased a lot of JJill in the past, but have become very dissatisfied with the pants. They stretch out during one wearing and, therefore, have to be washed and pressed each time. They begin to feel baggy and unkempt within hours. They look lovely on you…..so I really would like some info on how the wear before I choose to purchase.
Barbara, you might need to go down a size. I’ve found that a lot of J.Jill clothing runs big.
