THE IT BAG FOR SUMMER

Friday was gorgeous here in Tennessee but I am not sure how nice the rest of the weekend will be. Even if the weather cooperates I am not sure if the sickness bug is going to be kind. I am feeling better but poor little Matti has come down with a stomach virus. She spent the night with me on Thursday and before we went to bed she said that she had a headache. Her hair was pulled back in a tight bun since she had been at a dress rehearsal for her ballet recital and we assumed that was probably the issue. We gave her some children’s Tylenol and she and I went to bed. However, the next morning she was still complaining of a headache. I gave her some more Tylenol and she also asked for a cold washcloth to put on her head. In just a few minutes she started throwing up. Poor little thing was so upset that she had vomited on the floor. We assured her that was not anything we cared about and gave her some Sprite to drink. She said she felt much better and then she went to sleep again. That has pretty much been the scene that was played out all day long. Unfortunately, she didn’t get to go to her dance recital. ? I am hoping that she feels better today and she feels like doing her recital. She truly loves dancing and she has looked forward to this all year long. When I think about Memorial Day I always think about cookouts. I think about hotdogs and hamburgers and huge sales. I am not forgetting the meaning of Memorial Day and I am not trying to be disrespectful in any way. I have just been fortunate that I have no one in my family or even anyone I actually knew that died in combat. I have had relatives to serve in the armed forces but none that perished. It was never a holiday that we observed when I was a child other than to go to the lake and cookout. Because I think about cookouts and picnics I decided to wear my buffalo check top from Joan Rivers. The last time I wore this top I was in Chuck Norris sneakers. Lol!!! (yes, I know it is Chuck Taylors)I went with white accessories for my jewelry today. The white drop earrings and very lightweight and frilly. I at first thought these earrings were a hard plastic but they are actually metal. I figured that out when they got stuck to my magnetic bracelet one day. Lol! The first magnetic bracelet that I have on is one of the new ones from the new line by Plunder. It is the Opal magnetic bracelet and it is set in goldtone. The red Candy bracelet and the Amanda pearl bracelet are the remaining two bracelets that I have on. I had seen this bag on some websites but I wasn’t sure if I liked the look of it and I wondered about all of my items showing through the slats. However, when I was in Cancun at the reception event I happened to see a lady from corporate carrying the bag. It was adorable!!! I talked to her about the bag for a while and she said that hers was the knock-off version. When I went home I did some homework and found the purse and I bought the knock-off version also from Amazon. I didn’t know how much I would carry this bag so I figured a “similar” bag was close enough for me. I have it linked below. I think that mine is larger than the one she was carrying but I can’t be sure. Mine came with a small scarf to tie on the bag for color but I have a blue bandana material belt tied to mine.

I finally found me a pair of navy shoes that I can wear this summer. I have only had a t-strap sandal or a ballet flat and I wanted something else. I wasn’t sure what I wanted but I wanted something dressier (not fancy) than the sandal or the flat. I found this pair by Tommy Hilfiger when I went shopping the other day and I think they work perfectly. I can see me wearing these with shorts, crops, or dresses. Boom! Perfect for my needs.
