The Best Makeup Products To Buy From The Drugstore
Have the holidays put a dent in your wallet? SAME! I feel like I’m going to get a gift basket from the credit card company any day now, lol. Long-time readers know that I like my makeup and I have been known to use some pricy brands, but not always! I grew up in the 80s, so you know I can rock some Cover Girl when money is tight. Today, I’m taking you shopping for some basic items. We’ll be looking at the best makeup products to buy from the drugstore! All of the products are under $20 dollars.
My daughter recently turned me on to a Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Lip Liner inspired product. She knows that I use and love all my Charlotte Tilbury products, so she wanted me to try the Maybelline Color Sensational Shaping Lip Liner in Dusty Rose. I was so shocked, and I recorded myself trying it for the first time. See for yourself:
I added the Hydrating Lip Gloss with Hyaluronic Acid in the shade Ice for some shine. I’m still using these products. I love Charlotte Tilbury, but I’m not paying more if I don’t have to, especially when I can get the same look.
The Best Makeup Products To Buy From The Drugstore – Foundation
L’Oreal is a tried and true brand, and the L’Oreal Paris True Match Nude foundation has been tried over and over. It has almost 14,000 reviews and a 4.5-star rating! There are 14 different shades, so you should have no problem finding a match. This foundation is $20 dollars, but it frequently goes on sale.
I’ve blogged about Elf many times. It’s a solid brand that is uber-affordable! This Flawless Finish Foundation is lightweight and provides medium coverage all for just $6 dollars. You can join a ton of others who use and like this product, as it’s been reviewed 31,000 times and has a rating of 4.3 stars!
The Best Makeup Products To Buy From The Drugstore – Bronzer
In a post about affordable makeup, you’re going to see a lot of ELF. Who is ready to look sun-kissed? Me! This long-wearing matte bronzer is infused with lock-on primer powder to ensure a full day of bronzed, sun-kissed glow. The good news? Under $10 dollars, and a 4.5 star rating!
More L’Oreal True Match! This soft powder formula is created for a subtle, barely there shimmer. It has three shades designed to flatter light, medium, and deep skin tones. Under $20 dollars, this bronzer has been reviewed 4,000 times and has a 4.6-star rating. That’s a lot of happy consumers!
The Best Makeup Products To Buy From The Drugstore – Blush
Here’s my Cover Girl! I love a pallet that has more than one color. This has three shades so that you can use one or all for contouring. There are three pallets to choose from, and each is under $10 dollars. One thing to note is that it does have what’s described as a light floral scent. Keep that in mind if you’re sensitive to fragrances!
Do you remember Wet and Wild? This is a great makeup when you are pinching pennies! This blush is under FIVE DOLLARS. Just because it’s inexpensive doesn’t mean it’s not a good product. This blush has been reviewed over 13,000 times and has a 4.3-star rating. There are several different shades to choose from, and they provide medium coverage.
The Best Makeup Products To Buy From The Drugstore – Mascara
This is sure a blast from the past. I need to find this shirt, it is too cute to be lost. You’ve heard me mention Essence mascara before. It is fabulous, and I use it all the time. It is also only $4.99 and has over 352,000 orders!
When I tell you that the L’Oreal Paris Makeup Voluminous Mascara is popular, I mean it is POPULAR. I’ve used it and have liked it, but I had no idea how many people felt the same. It’s been reviewed almost 75,000 times and has a rating of 4.5 stars. WOWZER. Under $10 dollars and several different colors are available. I was going to show another mascara, but why bother, lol.
The Best Makeup Products To Buy From The Drugstore – Eyeliner
You can’t do a post on drugstore makeup and not include Revlon! This comes with a built-in sharpener which I LOVE. I can never find mine when I need it. You can buy a single pencil for about $6 dollars or a two-pack for under $12. It comes in black, of course, but other colors as well, such as sapphire. It’s been reviewed over 22,000 times and has a 4.5-star rating!
Here’s another option from Elf! The retractable eyeliner is a great buy at under $5 dollars. The wind and cold in the winter make my eyes water, so I appreciate that it’s waterproof! It’s available in black, coffee, and grey. Like all of these products, the reviews are very good. Over 15,000 people have taken the time to review this eyeliner, and it has a rating of 4.3 stars.
The Best Makeup Products To Buy From The Drugstore – Concealer
Last but not least, concealer! Boy, have I used a lot of CoverGirl concealer in my day. From covering my acne in my teenage years to covering my age spots now, lol. I don’t suppose they’ll be using that in an ad campaign any time soon. This concealer is just a hair over $10 dollars, and is available in 28 different shades!

I dearly love that each posts contains a scripture:) I have basically always used drugstore/Wal-Mart makeup. First, it was because it was all I could afford. However, even though I can now afford (to some extent anyway) higher priced brands, I still stick with my old favorites. I have tried various higher-line skin care and make-up but I really don’t see that they do any better than what I’ve always used. I love the Essence mascara…discovered it on another blog a couple years ago. I also love ELF…have you tried the primer in the round container (can’t remember name of it)? It’s great too! Really enjoyed this post.
