The Best Column Skirts To Wear Now
I tend to show a lot of dresses this time of year as we gear up for wedding season, but not everyone likes to wear dresses. My sister swears that she looks much better in a skirt and top. Good news, column skirts are very on-trend! Of course, you can wear skirts for all kinds of events, from a casual walk around town running errands to a professional meeting. I’ve put together a list of the best column skirts to wear now, and I’m sure you’ll find something to love.
The Best Column Skirts To Wear Now – Professional
You might be wondering if a column skirt is the same as a pencil skirt, and the answer is yes. Honestly, I’ve always called them a pencil skirt, so it confused me too when I started hearing that a column skirt was trending. I love a good pencil skirt, it is a gorgeous skirt that looks chic and can be worn for many occasions. This pull on skirt is so comfortable, and I love the midi length with boots or heels. The leopard print top is an old one from Nordstrom that is no longer available.
Let’s start with something professional. This stretch crepe skirt from Kasper is a classic! The skirt’s blend of 97% polyester and 3% spandex offers just the right amount of stretch for a comfortable fit, while the sleek column silhouette provides a polished look that’s versatile for both office and evening wear. This would look great with a nice blouse for the office, or add an off-the-shoulder top for a little more va-voom.
How pretty is the shade of navy blue? It looks so rich! I’ve purchased from the brand SweatyRocks before, and I’ve always found their items to be super comfortable. This is definitely a maxi skirt so you may need to wear this with your highest heels. The reviews say that it’s soft and lightweight. It comes in black, too, and is about $35 dollars.
Here’s another maxi skirt from one of my favorite retailers – Nordstrom. You can’t go wrong with a great, neutral skirt. Unlined for a light and airy feel, it’s great for when the temperatures are high. One of my favorite details is the slit at the back and of course, I love the belt.
The Best Column Skirts To Wear Now – Denim
Denim skirts are very popular, and this front slit version is too cute. This would work well with so many different shoes, from cute sneakers to ankle boots. Even though you could wear this now, it’s not just a warm weather skirt. Pair it with some tights and tall boots and it would still look great this fall. It’s available in blue as well as white.
Gurls, I’ve just discovered a skirt that’s about to become your new go-to! Imagine the classic look of a washed-denim skirt blended with the comfort of your favorite sweats. This A-line midi skirt does just that, crafted from stretchy terry that’s as cozy as it is chic. With a convenient zip fly and button closure, handy front scoop pockets, and those must-have back patch pockets, it’s function meets fashion. The front slit adds a touch of flair!
The Best Column Skirts To Wear Now – Florals
This floral print chiffon midi skirt is not only cute but also incredibly comfortable, thanks to its high waist and back elastic waistband. The vibrant and eye-catching floral design is perfect for any occasion, from a casual day out to a beach vacation or even a party. It pairs wonderfully with a simple tank or T-shirt, and you can layer it with a jacket for those cooler days. If you’re not a fan of the bright flowers, there are nine other versions at the link!
Here’s another cute skirt for my floral loving readers. Who doesn’t love a nice floral pattern?! They are perfect for adding a touch of spring to your wardrobe. Crafted from a blend of 53% viscose and 47% rayon, it’s as comfortable as it is charming. It’s unlined, but the fabric is nice quality so you shouldn’t have any trouble with a smooth drape. Just a heads-up, it’s a dry-clean-only piece, but believe me, its elegance and versatility make it well worth the care. Ideal for any occasion that calls for a bit of floral finesse!
The Best Column Skirts To Wear Now
I’m not sure if this is a column skirt, or just a skirt, lol, but I like it! It’s a chic sweater-skirt that’s as polished as it is eco-friendly. Designed with a longline silhouette and a bit of swingy flare, it’s elegant AND comfortable. It would be so cute with ankle booties and a cropped denim jacket!
Now, this is what I think of when I think of a column skirt. The pencil cut, combined with the textured fabric, has a bit of stretch. It’s definitely a bodycon fit. Hey, if you’ve got it, flaunt it! The black and white is a classic, but there are others at the link. The light pink is great for spring and summer and would work well with sneakers.

I love pencil skirts! does anyone wear them just below the knee? I don’t have maxi skirts. I’m petite.
You can wear them at any length.
Enjoy your picks and pix. Please consider options that also include plus sizes. Thanks.
I’m looking at doing a post for Petites and Plus size ladies. It is harder for me since I’m not that size.
I love the column skirts but unfortunately I am 5’2” tall and have too much caboose to wear them. 🤣
Would Love to see some just below the knee length skirts not maxi length
Thank U 4 sharing, I love the black & white skirt beautiful. I’m new 2 your page just ran across it as I love clothes, saw this on Google. I love the challenge of making my own by looking at other styles, I just love many of these. I’m 63 years old 5’0 & pear shaped ( challenge) I have a hard time finding cute clothes because of my weight AND I wear pink every day, hard 2 find 4 adults ( breast cancer survivor) These R great ideas.

I really like the long midi pencil skirt look. It’s very elegant. Thanks for showing the different skirts and prices
At my age, I am not a big fan of the pencil/column skirts.
The skirts are beautiful, but I just feel better in a dress. I like the long lean look the pencil skirt creates, but I don’t feel long or lean on them.
Unfortunately not a fan of the column skirts. My body shape does NOT look good in that style☹️
