Gurls, are you using “clean” makeup? If you’re not aware, “clean makeup” is a term used to describe cosmetics and skincare products that are free from harmful chemicals like parabens, phthalates, sulfates, and synthetic fragrances. That’s never a bad thing! Some of the online retailers even have whole sections where you can find a list of clean products. If you don’t know where to start, don’t worry. I’ve got a list of the best clean makeup items to try today.

Clean Makeup -Skin Tint

Need some light coverage? A tint is just the answer. This product is from Summer Fridays and comes in several skin tones. Clean is all about keeping your skin looking good and this tint contains Tiger Grass to help soothe the skin and reduce redness. Don’t worry if it’s too sheer. You can actually layer it for more coverage.

Clean Makeup -Foundation

Saie is a great name in the clean makeup space. This is a medium-coverage foundation that gives a nice glow to the skin. Of course, it comes in a wide variety of skin tones. It’s claim to fame is something called Hydrobounce, which is “5X more hydrating than traditional Hyaluronic Acid for plump, luminous skin.” Sounds great to me!

Clean Makeup -Blush

More from Saie! I’ve recently become a huge fan of cream or liquid blush. I think it just blends so much nicer than powder. This is called “Spicy” and is described as a warm terracotta, but it also comes in a rose, mauve, and coral. It also includes some great ingredients like Elderberry Fruit Extract to fight free-radical and environmental damage and Licorice Root Extract to brighten the overall appearance of your skin.

At Milk Makeup, they believe it’s not just about how you create your look; it’s what you do in it that matters. I used to use this MILK MAKEUP Lip + Cheek Cream Blush Stick all the time, and when I ran out, I forgot to order more. Lol!

Clean Makeup -Setting Powder

Bare Minerals has been around forever and is one of the first brands I think of when I think “clean.” It is made with just five ingredients and is talc-free. This comes in 30 different colors and has an SPF of 15, too!

Clean Makeup -Highlighting Balm

Do you use a highlighting balm? These are great for putting at the top of your cheek to highlight your bone structure. Or at least create the illusion of bone structure. Being clean, it also moisturizing! It comes in two colors – rose gold or champagne.

Clean Makeup – Eyeshadow

I am all about a great eyeshadow palette! This version from GXVE is vegan, gluten-free, cruelty-free, and comes in recyclable packaging. This is just one of three different pallets available. A beautiful option and under $30 dollars.

Clean Makeup – Mascara

ILIA is a great brand with a ton of fans. This version of clean mascara is gluten-free, soy-free, fragrance-free, and synthetic dye-free! Plus, it’s really good for making your lashes look longer and more voluminous, lol. The brush has two sides – a regular brush and one for combing to help keep your lashes looking good and without clumps.

I’ve used the ILIA mascara before, and I love it. But the KUSH High Volumizing Mascara by MILK was new to me until this week. While I was at my daughter’s, she brought it into the bathroom and told me to try it. It is her favorite! I loved the coverage, and it didn’t flake or anything. I would have to get used to the brush since I prefer one that looks like the ILIA.

Clean Makeup -Lipstick

Finally, here’s a great, clean lipstick from ILIA. It’s vegan, cruelty-free, which I LOVE, dermatologist-tested, and sustainably sourced and packaged. Plus, it’s a great lipstick! This is a soft pink, but it comes in fourteen others.

I’d love to know if you look specifically for clean products or if knowing a product is clean would make you more likely to buy it.

  2. My daughter is all about clean everything–food, makeup, shampoo, everything. I’ll probably start switching things, but it’s pretty expensive to replace everything all at once. Thanks for the list to go back to when I need it!

Love your new hair cut. I am growing mine out to donate to Locks of love for kids. I have a few more inches I have donated it once before. I am a cancer survivor so I was able to get a hair piece going through my journey

    1. Stella, that is a nice goal that someone will appreciate very much.

  7. First of all you look great in the new haircut. Bangs suit your face. I’m all about clean makeup. I have eczema flare-up and dermititis so I have to be careful with the products I use. Thanks for giving me other company options. I use Faerie Organics for foundation and Gabrielle for my lipstick. Right now queen of thrones organic castor oil is helping my flare-up. You need to check out the benefits of castor oil. It has to be organic and in a glass bottle.

  8. Hi Tanya,
May I suggest a topic of belts? With stretch in some jeans, they begin to fall as the day goes on. I know you did mention one recently.
Also, since you wfh, I am sure you know of helpful gadgets, etc. I have a rats nest of cords and I need a new chair (going to try the one you recommended on Amazon). Thanks for your wonderful blog. Just love it! You are keeping me stylish and help so much with my kids’ and hubby’s gifts etc!!💕
