50 IS NOT OLD | TEACHING AN OLD DOG A NEW TRICK | FASHION OVER 40Technology has kicked my butt today! First off, I am not the savviest person when it comes to blogging but I am constantly trying to “up my game” and try new things. I was irritated the other day when my email service did not send out the daily email reminder to everyone so that got me looking into using a different provider. Also, there are some services that other email providers can offer that the one I currently use doesn’t offer. Soooooo………..50 IS NOT OLD | TEACHING AN OLD DOG A NEW TRICK | FASHION OVER 40I literally spent ALL day long working on getting this service (semi) working. I woke up and fixed my breakfast. I went and put on some running shorts and a t-shirt and then went outside to mail some samples out to a few ladies. Then I walked in my neighborhood for at least a mile before I went inside. I didn’t want to wear myself out. Lol!!! I sat down and started working and at 8:30 pm I stopped to write today’s blog post. Either this service is horribly hard or I am horribly slow. I think that it is a combination of the two to tell you the truth. I have an obsessive personality so I am like a dog with a bone when I work on something like this. In case you are wondering about the new email service that I am wanting to provide, it is a Weekly Newsletter that will be mailed to you each Saturday. I needed to have something else to do besides posting 7 days a week and running two online businesses. Lol! This will include a summary of my daily posts, things that might have happened during the week, pictures that did NOT make the blog (it will be obvious why), and sales that I have found that I know you will want to know about. This content will not be on the normal blog post, you will only be able to get it by signing up. If you are interested, then go here to sign up. (crossing my fingers that this works!)
50 IS NOT OLD | TEACHING AN OLD DOG A NEW TRICK | FASHION OVER 40I love this soft swing dress from Old Navy. I bought this dress earlier in the year in a different color and here is where I wore it. This dress is a plush knit and it is so soft. I really like this dress even better than the other swing dresses that I had previously bought from Old Navy. I think it is the plush knit fabric that I liked so much, it just feels luxe. This dress is a short sleeve version but I would recommend going ahead and buying the long sleeve version (it is on sale) for the upcoming fall season. Plus, if you are like me, then you can push up the sleeves for spring. Go HERE to view that option, and it comes in 4 different colors. You’ll want more than one, especially at that price. Lol!50 IS NOT OLD | TEACHING AN OLD DOG A NEW TRICK | FASHION OVER 40 Fringe and tassels have been the hot trends for this spring and summer. I have both of those in today’s look. The Esperanza earrings have a light cream fringe and opal crystals on a gold hoop that is 3″ long. This are super cute and lightweight! I also added the Reese necklace which features a LONG white tassel and has a large gold disc on a 31-34 inch long chain. It won’t be long until the new Fall Collection will be available for purchase. I can’t wait to see the new collection. I have seen a small snippet and it looks amazing. 50 IS NOT OLD | TEACHING AN OLD DOG A NEW TRICK | FASHION OVER 40 I didn’t plan to make this post all about Old Navy. Lol! But, my floral pumps are from there also. Of course, these floral pumps are long gone since most stores have their fall and winter shoes now in the stores. Instead of trying to find a summer print shoe for you that you probably wouldn’t get to wear but just a little while, I looked for some fall shoes instead. I loved these and I think you will also.

50 IS NOT OLD | TEACHING AN OLD DOG A NEW TRICK | FASHION OVER 40I found this purse at the bottom of my dress closet. Yes, I have a closet that is nothing but dresses. Lol! Anyway, there is a whole mess of purses at the bottom of this closet and I was wanting something red to wear with this look, so this one got chosen. This is an old handbag by Coach. There were years when I bought Coach bags exclusively, I was obsessed. Anyway, I still have a lot of them but several have hit the yardsales over the years. Do you have your own handbag brand obsession?

50 IS NOT OLD | TEACHING AN OLD DOG A NEW TRICK | FASHION OVER 40Today is the last day to have me order the newest product launch from Rodan +Fields! This product has quickly become one of my top 5 favorite products and that is saying a lot! Maybe I am the only one out there with dry and crepey skin but something tells me that I am not. You will see a visible difference after one use. This hydrating moisturizer promotes smooth, glowing skin. A breakthrough body moisturizing cream, it delivers immediate and continuous body hydration and helps prevent future moisture loss, resulting in younger-looking, younger-acting skin. If you would like me to order you a jar just let me know. I am going to be offering the jar at the Preferred Customer price of 59.00 and I will pay the shipping. Orders will go out by the end of the month so let me know if you would like one or take my advice and get two. Lol!!! You can email me at fiftyisnotold@gmail.com or just leave a comment below.

  1. Tania, your blog makes my day! You are such a genuine “gurl”.

    1. Nancy, that is so sweet! Thank you so much!!!

  2. Well, you’re encouraging me to try something new again! I want to try the swing dress with their leggings. Specifically for at home. I like to look nice at home but hate to spend too much money for clothes only I see! (or my kids if they visit.) So I’ll try Old Navy. (I was just there to buy my grandson school clothes but I was WAY too tired to try anything for myself!)

  3. Please email me if there are any Lash Boost Specials ! Been wanting to try it.

  4. I love the Old Navy swing dresses SO much. So cute, easy to wear, and comfortable!

  5. I have this very dress and I LOVE IT! it is silky smooth and is so comfortable. Perfect for our hot summers in California. You look classy as usual!

  6. Kristi Tandy says:

I love this dress in the long sleeve version. I see the really long tops with jeans are in again. Looking back at the previous time you wore this with jeans, I am curious how tall you are to judge if it is a look I can pull off?

    1. Hi, Kristi. I am 5’6″ tall.

  7. Susan Stancliff says:

I love the Old Navy dresses. So comfy. Do you think the necklace you have on will still be able to be worn in the fall? I have it and love it! I signed up for your newsletter and can’t wait to get it!

I’m always a little behind things. But, the other day you had the navy plaid fringed vest . How do you think that would look on me. I want it in the fall colors. I’m only 4’11, and wear 12-14. I’m just afraid since it doesn’t come in petites it may be too long and just make me look frumpy. Not the look I go for. Lol

    1. Cheryl, that is a hard question. I think that you would definitely need to wear skinny jeans with the look and probably size down for the volume. It will really be something that you need to try on and just see.

I have a very similar dress w a big pink rose on it and I love wearing it as well. So comfy and cute! I’d love to see your shoes and purse closet!
