SWEATER AND JEANS ARE MY WEEKEND UNIFORM
I can’t believe that this is the last weekend before Christmas. Christmas falls on a Saturday this year, which messes with last-minute shoppers who work during the week. I try to order everything I can online because the stores are so crowded, parking spots are limited, and people are stressed at this time of the year. It might be the most wonderful time of the year, but don’t try to grab an item on sale unless you want to fight with somebody who already has 5 of them in her cart. Lol!
My Christmas shopping is strange this year. Most of my gifts are “experience” gifts, so there aren’t many packages under the tree. While “experience” gifts will be great when you actually experience the present, it is not a fun gift on Christmas day. You have nothing to open and play with, so I had to get the grandchildren a gift they could open. My grown children are old enough to understand, but the babies need something to hold in their hands. Lol!
Sweater and Jeans, My Uniform
I am a sucker for cable knit and Fair Isle sweaters! As hard as I try to pass one up, they seem to find a way to end up in my shopping cart. Haha! I love something about the pattern, and this color combination was too fabulous for me to pass up. The sweater is warm and cozy, just like you would expect. I thought it was a nice touch that the Fair Isle print was on the sweater’s cuffs as well as at the neckline.
I’m wearing a medium, and I think the fit is perfect. The sweater is still roomy and slightly oversized, but it doesn’t look baggy.
If anyone ever asked me, which they haven’t, what my “uniform” in the fall would be, I’d say it is a sweater and jeans. Wearing a sweater and jeans is a casual look that fits my style. Here is a photo showing you the length of the sweater in the back. I thought the sweater looked cropped in the pictures online, but maybe those models are taller than me. I’m 5’6″ tall for a sizing reference.
I’ve been more minimalistic in my jewelry lately, although I’m unsure why. I go through phases, so this must be my minimalistic phase. I’m wearing my AVI gold statement hoops (surprise, I know) and a long necklace from Chicos that is out of stock.
I’m wearing a pair of boyfriend jeans from J.Jill in Brooklyn wash. Since boyfriend jeans tend to be baggier than girlfriend jeans, I sized them down to an 8, and they fit fine. They are loose but not baggy, and I prefer that type of fit. On the website, these jeans are cuffed, but I didn’t want to wear them cuffed today, so I rolled them down. Sizes are limited in the misses, but petite, women and tall sizes are available. Here are some similar jeans if your size isn’t available.
If your style is also a sweater and jeans, then you might like this post that shows 7 different sweaters with one pair of jeans.
Old Navy is having a big sale, so I picked out some of my favorite items for you. I love ordering it online and then picking it up at the store. You can choose curbside contactless pickup or run into the store and pick it up. This makes it super easy to find the right items and sizes and not stand in line to checkout.
I know that a lot of you like to pin outfits on Pinterest. Pinterest has made it harder for people to find the link to visit the creator of the image, so I would appreciate it if you would share this pin with my logo. Hopefully, that will help people find my blog and the links associated with the look.

Love this look! I wouldn’t have thought to wear a necklace with a fair Isle sweater but it looks snazzy!
Thanks for all your awesome posts. They’re a highlight of my morning!
Yay! I’m glad you enjoyed the post!
How do you size down with pants and have them still fit around the waist? Just wondering if you have a trick I need to know.
Lol! Kim, I’m really not sure, but they still fit me around the waist.
