50 IS NOT OLD | SUNSHINE ON A CLOUDY DAY | FASHION OVER 40When I get home from working at the lumber company I am usually dragging my tail. It was really bad yesterday when I got home so I heated up a cup of coffee that was still in the coffee pot from this morning. I am not really sure why I even bothered because normally coffee doesn’t really wake me up anyway. I finally got woke up enough to start on the blog and then when Joe came in he got to telling stories, etc. and that woke me up. I didn’t think anything else about the coffee until I went to go to sleep. Bad move, very bad move. Lol!50 IS NOT OLD | SUNSHINE ON A CLOUDY DAY | FASHION OVER 40I think Joe must have fallen asleep as soon as his head hit the pillow but my eyes popped open and refused to shut. I kept wondering why was I having a hard time going to sleep since I didn’t have anything bothering me or on my mind. Then I remembered the coffee! I tossed and turned and decided never again to drink coffee when I come home from work. Then, I came home today and I am so sleepy that I can hardly keep my eyes open. Lol! I know it is because I didn’t sleep well last night and if I can just tough it out then I will be fine. Someone just needs to tell my eyes that because they are not paying me any attention. Wake me up in about 15 minutes. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzz.50 IS NOT OLD | SUNSHINE ON A CLOUDY DAY | FASHION OVER 40Don’t let these bright eyes fool you, they are seriously tired. Lol! I am sure that a huge part of you are already saying that you can’t wear orange. It isn’t one of my favorite colors either but I like to have a few pieces of clothing in almost every color. The orange was not something that I had planned on wearing today and in fact, it was an afterthought. I grabbed this BRIGHT orange cardigan just to keep me warm and I wanted to keep in the “theme” of my color palette today. I do like the style of this cardigan which has a deep V neckline and 3/4 sleeves. This style is probably my favorite and the one I will choose if I have a choice. This is an older cardigan that I bought at Old Navy several years ago. I love finding their cardigans on sale and then buying several different colors.

50 IS NOT OLD | SUNSHINE ON A CLOUDY DAY | FASHION OVER 40The entire outfit was all planned around this Paisley scarf. I saw this the other day when I was shopping at Cato Fashions and grabbed it in the white color. It also came in Navy but I decided that I wanted the bright white just to herald in Spring. You just have to think about spring when you see this outfit. Some of you may think Spring but still be dressing for winter. It is coming, I promise!!! I knew a groundhog wasn’t a good predictor of the weather. Lol!

50 IS NOT OLD | SUNSHINE ON A CLOUDY DAY | FASHION OVER 40I am wearing the dark blue Diana jeans from Kut from the Kloth. I know that I wear this pair a lot but they fit so good and are so comfortable. I probably should try another style from them to see if I like that one just as well so I’ll have to think about that. The darker the jean the dressier it appears. So, if you wear the lighter colored jeans it will look more casual and the darker jean will appear dressier even if you wear the same top. Huh! I may have to try that one day and put it on the blog to see if you gurls agree with that statement.

50 IS NOT OLD | SUNSHINE ON A CLOUDY DAY | FASHION OVER 40With this outfit on you will be singing, “I got sunshine, on a rainy day. When it’s cold outside I’ve got the month of May.” You’re welcome for now having “My Girl” stuck in your head. Lol!

  1. Love the scarf, it really brought the whole outfit together. I hardly ever go in Cato’s, but you’ve inspired me, as you do so well! “My Girl” is mine and my dad’s song ?
