Stylish and Trendy Sneakers for Women over 50
Yes, believe it or not, it’s possible to find stylish and trendy sneakers for women over 50! Just ask Helen Mirren. She made a huge splash at Cannes a few years ago when she showed up in the green sneakers pictures below. Just because we’re ladies of a certain age, doesn’t mean we have to wear ugly footwear!
I absolutely love these shoes. They come in a ton of colors and are under 80 dollars. If they’re good enough for Helen Mirren, they’re good enough for me!
I first fell in love with these sneakers when my niece bought a pair at Nordstrom. She wears them all of the time. Another fan? Meghan Markle! They are very cute and so on trend!
Adidas is one of the go-to sneakers that celebrities are always pictured wearing. I love how these look like actual tennis shoes, without being huge and bulky. The blue and white color combination is classic. And they’re under $100 dollars! Worn by Dakota Fanning, Emma Stone and countless other celebrities.
I admit that I’d never heard of this sneaker until I started researching what was trending. They get rave reviews and Kate Middleton, THE Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge often wears them. Are you sitting down? They are typically around $50 dollars! I love stylish and trendy sneakers for women over 50 that are affordable!
Do you remember Stan Smith, the tennis player? He’s 76 years old but his sneakers haven’t aged a day! These white-on-white sneakers are worn by Amal Clooney, Sienna Miller, Karlie Kloss, Kendall Jenner – you name the supermodel and they’ve probably worn them. The bright white tennis shoe is very popular. It seems crazy now, but remember how we all used to make our shoes dirty when we first got them? No more. Keep those suckers white!
You can’t go wrong with these Converse Slip-On Sneakers. Is there a more classic tennis shoe than these? If you don’t have these iconic shoes in your closet, stop what you’re doing and grab them. They look great with jeans, skirts, EVERYTHING. Celebrities spotted wearing them? Gwyneth Paltrow and Gwen Stefani.

Don’t roll your eyes, gurls! You wear ankle booties, don’t you? Think of these as a classic, tennis shoe version of Dr. Martens. Celebrities wearing these? Every Kardashian on the planet. lol
The Nike brand is one of the best-known brands in the world, (Thank you, Michael Jordan) and will probably always be considered fashionable. Step it up (ha, pun intended) and elevate your sneaker game with these platform sneakers. Worn by Justin and Hailey Bieber, and Cameron Diez.
I could go on and on and share even more sneakers worn by actors and models, but most of them were in the $500 – $1000 dollar range. Yes, I want to be fashionable, but I’m drawing the line at spending a mortgage payment on sneakers!

Verse Of The Day
The green ones are adorable. Love the superga but all sold out in white.
The verse of the day didn’t get in today.🫨
Awesome tennis shoe post. I have the cariuma sneakers in a neutral color. they are so cute and comfy. Ashton Kutcher also wears them…Lol. may have to get the green. I also have Superga sneakers but I don’t think they are that comfy. I Love van slip ons. so many cute patterns and colors. My sister has been wearing chuck Taylor converse high tops for years. Always on trend. I want to try the Veja sneakers.
I’ve been wearing Superga’s for close to ten years now. They are my absolute favorite sneakers ever! I’m on my 3rd pair and soon my 4th. I have one pair in white and one in black. Interestingly, my daughter had bought a pair and complained that for her they weren’t comfortable due to her low arch. My arch is average and they are very comfortable for me.
Aren’t we a bit too mature and wise to be impressed by name dropping what celebrities wear a certain sneaker brand? I think we’ve come further than that.
Are Sketchers stylish? I find them very comfortable.
My everyday challenge with shoes is that I have to have arch support, even in my sandals. My feet are also very narrow and paper thin, so if there is not a way to tighten the fit of the shoe, I have to pass right by them. I guess most of us over 50 have some sort of foot challenge. Those green sneakers are adorable.
Ginger, my daughter, has very narrow feet also. I think she purchases Ascis, but I’m not sure.
I started following your posts a few years ago, we are around the same age! I really enjoyed seeing how the clothes that I see at the stores, look on a real person! Putting clothes together is not a problem for me, I just don’t have time to buy and return if the items don’t work so it is why I enjoyed your posts, although lately it seems that you are posting more pics rather than pictures of you styling the beautiful clothes… any chance you are planning on doing more try-ons? I still enjoy your posts, just miss the early days!
Teresa, I don’t do a try-on every day, but on days when I’m showing outfits, I usually have at least 3 to 5 outfits in the post. Saturday was a large J.Jill Try-On, and I have 2 more try-ons coming soon. The collage posts give me a chance to breathe while still bringing you content.
What do you think about the sparkly tennis shoes?
Lol! I think they are soooo cute! I’ve been looking for a really cute pair. Let me know if you’ve found one you like.
I have Betsy Johnson ones. I’m 64 years old and I worried that I was too old to wear them but I love them and wear them with just about everything! I’m thinking about buying the ones she has with pearls too.
