50 IS NOT OLD | STYLING A SHERPA VEST | FASHION OVER 40I went to work yesterday and I was in a rush. I was running late as usual but I had some things to get done so I was feeling the pressure to hurry and get there. I hadn’t been there very long before the urge to see if my friend had gotten the message that I had sent her before I left. I looked in my purse but I couldn’t find my phone. Then I went through my tote but I couldn’t find it there either. Yes, I carry a tote and a purse and they are both full. Lol! Then, just to make sure that I didn’t overlook the phone, I went through them both AGAIN!50 IS NOT OLD | STYLING A SHERPA VEST | FASHION OVER 40Oh my stars, I left the house without my phone!!! I thought that it wouldn’t be a big deal, I would just check everything once I got back home that afternoon and if anyone really needed to get up with me they would know to call me at the lumber company. Do you know how it is when you start a diet? You can’t think about anything else but food once you think you can’t have any food. That was how I was today. Every time I had a few minutes I would find myself looking for the phone. Lol! If it had been right there I wouldn’t have even paid it any attention unless it dinged. I walked in the door to the house and immediately went on a search for it. I finally found it in my bedroom on my dresser. I haven’t even looked at it since I got home. Lol!!!50 IS NOT OLD | STYLING A SHERPA VEST | FASHION OVER 40Even though March has arrived that doesn’t mean that the warm temperatures came with it. Someone told me that they were calling for snow this weekend. I hope they get a wrong number or that “snow” doesn’t answer. I figured that I should try and wear my sherpa plaid vest while I still had the opportunity. The colors are what I love about this vest. I think it is the bright rust color that grabs my attention and whispers for me to “pick me.” These vests can run large so you either need to try on a vest like this. I normally will buy a size smaller than normal because I think that the folds look better that way. Otherwise, I feel like you have too much fabric and draping.

50 IS NOT OLD | STYLING A SHERPA VEST | FASHION OVER 40I went through all the trouble of trying to get a good shot of these earrings for you only to find out that they are already sold out and not on the website anymore. Whew! I thought the tortoiseshell design looked cute with my outfit.Lol! At least you get to see my large vintage tortoiseshell print cuff. I bought this at a vintage fashion show several years ago. That just goes to show you that animal print is always in style. The bracelets on my right arm are the Scarlett and the already sold out, Dixie. I like wearing gold with brown tones because of the warmer tones. The gold chevron necklace is the Lexie and it is adjustable from 19 to 23 inches. I love Plunder Design jewelry because it is beautiful. It is trendy with a vintage vibe. And because it is affordable.

50 IS NOT OLD | STYLING A SHERPA VEST | FASHION OVER 40The Kut From The Kloth dark brown velvet pants fit like a dream. I had never tried this brand before until I got it in one of my subscription clothing shipments. Now, it has become one of my favorite jeans brands. The only fit that I have tried is the Diana and the Natalie. They work for me so why mess around? I order my normal size and so far they have all fit perfectly. This pair is the Natalie and they are a deep dark brown velvet. I have really lightened the photos so that you can see some of the details.

50 IS NOT OLD | STYLING A SHERPA VEST | FASHION OVER 40I added a dark brown long sleeve t-shirt that is from Old Navy. I am tickled that a lot of you have given Old Navy a try. They have great basics, like this shirt, and they aren’t very expensive. The quality is good and I normally get several years worth of wear out of each item. I usually get tired of the item before it wears out.

50 IS NOT OLD | STYLING A SHERPA VEST | FASHION OVER 40Here is the rear view. Don’t blame me for showing you this view, you gurls are the ones who keep asking for it. Lol!50 IS NOT OLD | STYLING A SHERPA VEST | FASHION OVER 40As you read this I am already making plans for my day off! Woohoo, this will be along weekend for me since I will also be off on Monday! I am beside myself with pleasure. I have an afternoon date with a cute little girl to pick her up from school and I think that I see ice cream in our future. Then, we will be probably having a sleepover but with her, you just never know. She has taken spells where she will scream to come over every night of the week and then she goes through the spells of whining for her Daddy to come over and get her.

    Hi Tania,
I just started following you and I love you style. I would love to through everything out of my closet and replace them with your clothes. You just know how to put things together.
What do you do with all your clothes and bags when you run out of room?
    Cindy

Really cute vest. I love the animal print cuff. How would you style the black and grey plaid vest by Amazon? I bet that could make a cute outfit too.

  5. I like this look. And I feel your pain regarding the phone! haha

Very cute vest my dear. And I love those brown velvet pants. I might have to find some. And yes I have tried Old Navy because of your pins and I really like their clothing plus it’s very affordable. You enjoy that precious little girl and all of her hugging and don’t eat too much ice cream. Good luck with your diet although I did not think you need to lose weight!

      1. Charcly, what diet? Lol! I will at least choose frozen yogurt instead of ice cream. Hahaha

  6. Love the vest! March is usually a wild weather month for us and never know what to wear. We got 5” of snow yesterday?.

  7. What a cute outfit and the tip to size down on that type of vest. I also like the “rear” view as I was interested in the back of your hair…LOL I know when you try and do your hair like someone else, a lot of times it’s in the “cut”. Enjoy your long weekend.

    1. Sandy, I need to take a picture of the back of my hair when the hairdresser fixes it. That is the only time that the back looks good. Lol!

  8. I’m dressed in a long sweater and legging with boots! Heavy snow and ice here. I love the vest and your bracelet! So warm and the pattern is easy to choose different colors for the rest of the outfit. Good for you…enjoy your day off and your little grand baby! Best…Kathy

    1. Kathy, your outfit sounds perfect! Stay warm and be careful out on the ice.

  9. Love this outfit…perfect for a cold snowy day like today……except I have a SNOW DAY!!! Jammies all day for me! ?

    1. It is rainy and EXTREMELY windy here. Stay warm!

  10. Love these colors on you, I hope you have a great long weekend!

    1. Thanks, Mary. I hope yours is good too.

  11. Hi Tania,

I love the co-ordination of your outfit – looks great on you!

    1. Thanks, Joyce. I guess it is in the monochromatic family of browns.
