50 IS NOT OLD | STYLE WITH A SMALL WARDROBEYou gurls are the sweetest things. You leave such great comments for me, they are always so encouraging. Even when you are critical, you do it in the nicest way. Lol! I had a fellow blogger email me the other day and one of her comments were, about how much participation I had with my readers. That was the highest compliment one blogger can give to another. Thank you gurls for following along.?50 IS NOT OLD | STYLE WITH A SMALL WARDROBEI did a video recently of my closets. If you did not see those, then go here. I try to wear different items daily, but you should know that is almost impossible. I do own A LOT of clothing, but still, it is hard to wear something different every day. Someone emailed me that I had saved them a ton of money since they had started following my blog. They said they could now take items in their closets and re-work them into new outfits. 50 IS NOT OLD | STYLE WITH A SMALL WARDROBEToday I decided that I was going to take that comment as a challenge. Everybody does not have a huge wardrobe or space for a large amount of clothing. If that is the case, then you need to take the same articles of clothing and make them appear different. For the rest of the week, I will be styling this sweater and pair of pants. I am pretty sure everyone has a sweater and a pair of pants, they do not have to be gray and maroon. It is not about the color, it is about making them look like you have a bigger wardrobe than you actually have.50 IS NOT OLD | STYLE WITH A SMALL WARDROBEThis sweater is one that I bought either last year or the year before from Old Navy. Old Navy is a great place to buy lightweight sweaters at an affordable price. I wasn’t sure I would like the sweater, I am not a huge fan of the waffle knit look. However, this does add some visual interest and texture that a plain sweater does not.

50 IS NOT OLD | STYLE WITH A SMALL WARDROBEI took this Plunder set with me to Livingston over the weekend. My cousin is having a Plunder party, so I loaded up all my jewelry (really heavy) and took it for everyone to look at. They couldn’t get over how nice the jewelry looked in person compared to the pictures in the catalog. My mother even bought this necklace set. I need to do a video so that it would show the sparkles. The entire pendant is covered in rhinestones and so is the pyramid that the tassels hang from. The matching bracelet and earrings, (not the ones I am wearing) are the same way.50 IS NOT OLD | STYLE WITH A SMALL WARDROBEThe earrings I have on are too cute. I couldn’t believe how big they were in person. In the catalog, these look tiny…. They are made in a knot style with rhinestones all over. These are probably the most popular earring by Plunder right now, they keep selling out. 50 IS NOT OLD | STYLE WITH A SMALL WARDROBEI have on a tank top with a lace bottom that I bought at Maurices. I have several different colors of this style top, they look great in the summer and you can wear them under jackets or sweaters all winter long. The top just gives some interest to the outfit.

The dark maroon or burgundy pants are an old pair that I bought at TJ Maxx. I love this pair because they are the perfect color for fall, I have worn them and worn them.

50 IS NOT OLD | STYLE WITH A SMALL WARDROBEThe gray studded shoes are by Sole Society. I bought these last year around this same time. I like them because you can wear them all year around.
50 IS NOT OLD | STYLE WITH A SMALL WARDROBECheck back the rest of the week to see how I style this differently.

  1. Is that a GILI bag from the QVC outlet? I bought that bag in cream snake two years ago and I love it!!
I can’t wait to see what the rest of the week will bring! Enjoy your day 🙂

    1. No, it is not a G.I.L.I. bag, but it is in the same style as several of their bags I already have. I bet the cream snake bag is adorable.

You hit the mark today! Love this look!! Such a great idea to give us mileage in our closet, I wanted to order your necklace and earrings. Are they available? If you could give me their names that would help. Also, does your hair dresser call your cut by a certain name. My is cut similar but I like your cut better. You always look so pulled together effortlessly. What a talent you have! Enjoy this gorgeous day, Your friend, Connie.

    1. Connie, the necklace is called the Joey, the bracelet is the Selena, and the earrings that match this set is called the Aria. The knot earrings I have on in the photos are called the Mason.

There is no name for this cut, I wanted a subtle change in the style I was wearing and we just changed things up a little. I go again on Thursday to get it cut again.

Done. I placed my order. Thank you for your help. My first order. I am anxious to see items in person!

  3. Hi Tania- you forgot to tell us about your bag. I have been looking for a bag just like that. Could you share info? Thanks! Lisa

    1. Lisa, I didn’t actually forget. The bag is just one I picked up around here and it is a no-name variety. I liked the style of the bag and the color, so I bought it. I don’t always have to have a name brand. This bag was only 40.00 and I have already carried it multiple times.

What a great idea to restyle this outfit all week. Wonderful color combination and thought the jewelry was a perfect accent until you said rhinestones, sorry, not a fan. However, the complete look is a hit and can’t wait to see the remaining genius ideas you have. Sounds as though this will be a great help to many of us.

    1. I need to take a video, Doreen. The rhinestones are small, so you don’t get that big “bling” look going. But, you get the shimmer and shine which is very eye catching.

  5. I love everything about this outfit!!

  6. Donna Maher says:

Good Morning Beautiful!! After seeing your closets, I do not feel bad about myself because my closets look just like yours! I am working on organizing them a little bit better though! You are the best….have an absolutely wonderful day!!

    1. I am glad I am not the only one Donna.??

  7. Hi Tania I am from South Africa and I love your blog. It took me a while to find a blog about fashion that I could relate too. Your clothes are easy to wear but also always looks so put together. Love it.

    1. Linds, you don’t know how much I appreciate your comment. Joe could tell you that looking “put together” has always been my goal. I had a boss whose wife always looked so nice and put together, and I envied her look. Thanks for making me smile this morning.

  8. What a great idea! I always love to see what how the same garment can look so different styled in another way.

    1. Bernie McIntyre says:

Hi Tania just bought jeans that colour and would never have thought of grey to go with it love it ? I can be a bit “matchy matchy” (not exactly a word but you know what I mean ? ? ?

      1. I use that same phrase all the time, Bernie. My son coached at a school where the colors were gray and maroon. I pair these two colors together often.

    2. I hope everyone likes the small changes in the look.

  9. Absolutely love this post Tania – compared to almost anyone else I know I think I have one of the smallest wardrobes out – plus at present seem to wear far too much black – am trying to think of a coloured outfit in my mind for today 😉

This weekend I was super lucky to be allowed to style my competition winner at the Zalando pop up store. You might like to check out the outfits chosen it’s a fun post with a guessing game at the end:

    1. Yvonne, you ALWAYS look great in everything you wear❤️

  10. Hi Tania, whilst I admire (and want!) most of the outfits you put together, this is probably something that I would actually be able to recreate and wear on a day to day basis. I love to ‘dress up’ but don’t get that much of an opportunity however, I like to look smart and well presented, so I’m really looking forward to seeing how you style these items. Outfit number one gets a big tick!

    1. I think of my style as dressy casual. I work in a lumber company, so I don’t “dress up” big time. My look is somewhat casual, but usually dressed up with accessories.

      1. Leslie Nigh says:

I just love your style. I love how you put together a great look. I want to be you when I grow up.
