50 IS NOT OLD | STRIPES ARE A HUGE TRENDToday was a little crazy. ? We have been swamped at work and I am really trying to get everyone boned up on the new system since I am going to be gone for a week and a half to Alaska. Wouldn’t you know that when I need to leave town we get crazy busy? I am trying to do all my work as fast as I can so that I can leave early and spend time with the grandbabies while they are here. 50 IS NOT OLD | STRIPES ARE A HUGE TRENDI came home and got Stephanie, Matti B and Emersyn and we headed to the overstock store. Stephanie and I got a few things but the girls were bored. They ended up playing under the racks of clothing while we shopped. We left there and went to get our nails done. Evidently, everyone else in town must have wanted their nails done today too. It was PACKED! We were there for over 3 hours! Emersyn and Matti B each got the Glow In The Dark fingernails and toenails. They then spent the rest of the time running to the bathroom looking at their nails. Lol! 50 IS NOT OLD | STRIPES ARE A HUGE TREND This navy and white striped top is one that I bought last year. I bought several of these Ralph Lauren tee-shirts at TJ Maxx. Stripes are really huge this year so you should be able to find one easily. I love the way this top is made with the deep v-neck.

50 IS NOT OLD | STRIPES ARE A HUGE TREND I might as well confess that I messed up with my jewelry this morning. Stephanie and I did a big Facebook group post on Sunday and we showed almost all the pieces in the catalog. Poor Stephanie put so many earrings in her ears (at a breakneck speed) that her ears have been sore for a couple of days. Well, none of that jewelry has been put back up and I can’t find anything when I go to get ready. I put on the short Jaylin necklace. It is very simple and I decided that was what I wanted to wear. Then I went to look for the Reagan earrings which match the necklace but I couldn’t find them. When I couldn’t find them I decided to wear the White Drop Earrings instead and I put on the longer Colleen necklace. I meant to take off the Jaylin but I completely forgot until I got to work and noticed it. Haha!!! Oh well, I guess I am just human. Lol!50 IS NOT OLD | STRIPES ARE A HUGE TRENDI know I haven’t been linking to very many items this week but I am trying to spend as much time as possible with the kids. I knew you would understand.

Now this is an outfit I love. Towards the nautical, with a little bright yellow. I always worry about the stripes also. But it does depend on how it looks on you.
    Have fun!!

  2. This is my first reply as I usually just look at your outfits on Pinterest! You peek my interest in the choices you make and combination of color, pattern, floral, solids and strips. I purchased a navy blue and white stripped tank a few months ago at Anthropologie and just did not know how to wear it. Like others I assumed strips made me look larger, not the case if worn right! I have JJill white lines pants I love and so glad to see your post on this top! Enjoying your blog.
Now if our triple digits would just drop to the 90’s I could accessorize with a pretty scarf!
    Have a beautiful vacation.
    Caed?

    1. Caed, I am glad that you took the time to comment. The navy and white top would look good with several colors. I almost wore it with a deep green pair of pants. Whew! It is hot where you are. Lol!

  3. Don’t worry about not leaving many links – enjoy those precious grandchildren! You are doing a great job! Love yellow & blue paired together.

    1. Blue and yellow are one of my favorite combinations.

I love this look! Looks nautical! Thank you so much for teaching me how to look great over 50! I love this blog!

    1. I thought it looked very nautical too, Karen.

  5. I like your look today. I like you in more tailored clothes. Have fun in Alaska! I love Alaska! What does your daughter do in Alaska? I can’t wait to go back to Alaska. Remember pack layers and a good quality rain coat with a hood and good footwear.

    1. I agree about the raincoat with a hood, I learned that lesson the last time. I haven’t even started to pack yet but I plan on taking layers. My daughter works in the State Attorney General’s office.

  6. I’ve been on a stripes kick lately too, Tania!! In fact I was scouring both mom’s (the 70+ model on my blog) and Nancy’s (the 60+ model) closet to see if we all had them so I could do a couple of posts regarding them!!
I love that you paired your stripe top with yellow!!

I love the stripes they’re really fresh and zesty looking! Not worn them myself for a while because I thought they made me double in size LOL!!, but they certainly don’t do that to you! They look super on you and I love the earrings!

    1. I used to be afraid of that, too. You have to try on the pattern and see how it works for you.

  8. I have tried a striped tee with a floral skirt! Loved it! Stripes go with everything!
