HOW TO KNOW A GOOD DEAL WHEN YOU SEE ONE
You should already know that I am someone who likes a good deal. But, do you know a good deal when you see one? You would think the answer would be obvious, but it is not always as easy as you might think. There are a few questions you must ask yourself first.
PRICE:
You would think that the price of an item should determine if it is a good deal. However, don’t get suckered in by those sale signs that scream –% off. The item might be on sale at that store, but is it the best price you can find? On high ticket items, do a little research to make sure you are getting the best deal.
QUALITY:
Quality is definitely something you should consider when buying anything. With that said, I will still buy items from discount stores if I consider it a “throw away” item. In other words, if I buy a trendy garment that I KNOW will only be in vogue for a year or so, then I am not a picky about the quality. However, I have seen some high-priced items, that the quality is not that much better than the similar item I can find at Old Navy or Cato. Just because it cost more, does not always guarantee that it will be better quality. I purchase my nicer items from outlet stores, where I still can get a bargain.
NEED:
Here is where I struggle. I am good with the price and quality areas, but I don’t really NEED much. My closets are busting, I have plenty of purses and shoes, and I have more jewelry than three people put together. I “try” to ask myself, “Is this a need or a want” when I purchase anything. Of course the answer is usually want, so then I make myself justify the purchase.
Now, I am going to show you a good deal. Haha! I tried to do a video the other day of me receiving my Plunder Design jewelry in the mail, so you could get an idea of how good a deal this was. But, the sound did not work, so that was a bust. Lol! So, today I have taken a picture of every item that you will receive if you sign up to be a stylist. If you are not a jewelry person or do not know of daughters, granddaughters, sisters, aunts, friends, or cousins that would like a nice gift from you, then skip down to my regular clothing links below.
Let’s start with the normal start-up kit. When you sign up to be a stylist, the price is $99.00 and you will receive 10 pieces. The list is:
4 NECKLACES:
3 BRACELETS:
3 EARRINGS:
The upgrade kits consists or seven extra pieces of jewelry. Normally this upgrade is an additional $99.00, however for the month of June, you can upgrade for ONLY $20.00!!! That is HUGE! You will receive:
4 NECKLACES:
1 BRACELET:
2 EARRINGS:
Now you know WHAT you will get when you sign up, so you now need to know HOW to sign up. To sign up you can either go to Plunder Design’s website. There is a “BECOME A CONSULTANT” box to the right. When you click on this box it will take you to the sign up page. My stylist number is 241007, and that is the first question that will be asked. OR, you can go to www.plunderdesign.com/taniastephens and hit the “BECOME A CONSULTANT” box to the right and it will automatically have me as the sponsor. The upgrade kit is on the second page, so be sure to look for that option. You will also use that stylist number if you are not signing up, but simply want to make a purchase. BTW, Plunder Jewelry is Nickel free, Lead free, and Hypoallergenic. As if all that Plunder Jewelry wasn’t enough, I even wore some plunder today. I have one two necklaces that I purchased outside the original sign-up kit. Here is the Jane necklace and the Lindsay necklace. The Jane necklace is made so that you can attach a pendant to the bottom of the large pearl. You can buy a pendant from Plunder, or you can attach something you already have. That is what I did, I have had this “t” initial for a while, and I thought it looked good.
The black & white striped top is from White House Black Market. I bought it on clearance at the Premium Outlet Mall in Orlando Florida this past February.
The white skinny jeans are a pair I have had for a while. I choose to wear my taupe Aerosole shoes instead of a white pair. These are almost the same color as my legs, so they look longer. If I had worn the white shoes, then you would have noticed the shoes more, instead of me. I am sorry that I don’t have any links after all to my clothing. The internet was down tonight, and is still acting up. I can’t get the websites to load. I think most of you can find your own black & white top and a pair of white jeans. That should be fairly easy.
Just keep in mind, that the $20.00 upgrade kit is only good through June, after that it will go back to being $99.00. I hope you take advantage of the savings.

Do consultants get discounts on jewelry? I’ve been considering becoming one but can’t seem to find the answer to this question.
Hello, I would like to order a necklace off your website, but when I put it in it doesn’t show you as the consultant. I want you to get the credit, It keeps just sending me to the generic site. I looked for the drop down for the facebook party but I can’t find it, nor can I find where I put your consultant # in. Help please.
Paula, you go to
http://www.plunderdesign.com/taniastephens
then click on the shop tab.It should say at the to right hand side of the site, You Are Shopping With Tania Stephens. If that doesn’t work, just place the order and let me know, I can call them. Sorry you are having problems.
Gorgeous in black and white, and the new jewelry is really wonderful! xox

Where is the green plant?! :O Ilike your top and I find the jewelry so cool!
I was watering the fern and forgot to put it back. Hahaha
Love the jewelry! It reminds me to add an accessory before I leave the house 🙂
Like you, I buy more for want these days than need and I’m fine with inexpensive/throw-away but I do look for some level of quality. I’m most particular about details that really show like the finish of the neckline and if stripes/pattern match at seams (huge pet peeve for me). Love your outfit. It’s so simple and yet so flattering and stylish.

Such a simple, yet awesome outfit! You look great!!!
Hi Tania! Carri just asked you the question I was going to ask. What else is required after you become a consultant. Thank you for telling us the earrings are nickel-free! I can now buy some things I “want”, not “need”. 🙂 Have a great weekend!
I too have plenty of clothes and jewelry but still love to shop. Sometimes I have to take a hold of myself and say no you don’t need it. Usually I am glad I didn’t buy an item. But if I still want it a few days later then I will go back and get it. I love all of the Plunder jewelry and will make a purchase soon
Look at you…all tiny and beautiful! ? Love your jewelry in this post.
The Plunder Jewelry Consultant deal is truly a bargain! What are the requirements once you become a consultant? Do you have to sell a certain amount of jewelry? Just curious…..
I’d like to know the same thing. I don’t really like to sell anything.
There is no minimum requirement to buy the jewelry. You are not considered “active” unless you sell 200.00 per month, but that only affects commissions. You can still make purchases, at least that was what I was told.
This may be my favorite outfit you’ve posted….probably because I love black and white so much. I like the longer pants…they make your legs look longer and I agree about the nude shoes…..not that you need or want my opinion. I just thought I’d give it anyway. LOL
Just found you on pinterest and love your style. You are so right… 50 is not so old. Blessings.
Great post. I also wrestle between need and want. Never easy for those of us who want to try new looks.
Enjoy the weekend!
You look great and really slim. You wear all the jewelry pieces very well. Hope your weekend is enjoyable. ~Lisa~
I love everything about this outfit Tania, black and white always looks so classy. I’ve bought many a ‘bargain’ and had it sit in my wardrobe for a couple of years unworn before it eventually gets donated. I have to ask myself now, would I buy it if it was full price? If the answer is no, I walk on by ? !
That is a wonderful benchmark Caroline. I have gotten spoiled by stores like TJ Maxx, Marhalls, and Ross, I would NEVER pay the original price indicated on the ticket.
so agree,
