SOUTHWESTERN COLORS
Thursday afternoon my son called me and asked me if I could watch Emersyn for a few hours. I jumped at the chance and we had a wonderful afternoon eating frozen yogurt and having her nails polished. She picked out a mood nail polish in hot pink. We were a little confused when she got finished and her nails were clear looking. Even Bill, our nail guy, was confused and he got the bottle back out to make sure that he had picked up the right bottle.
After Bill read the nail polish bottle he got up and disappeared. In a few minutes, he came back with a little metal cup that had frozen water in it. He brought it over to Emersyn and then picked up one of her fingers and rubbed the fingernail on the ice. In just a second her nail turned bright pink. The polish turned clear when it was warm and hot pink when it got cold. I would have much rather had it be the other way around. She came back over to my house for the rest of the afternoon and every 15 minutes or so she would run into the bathroom to wash her hands in cold water so her nails would turn pink. Lol!
The colors in this Southwestern-style cardigan are really vibrant. I love the terra-cotta and deep teal colors, they really go great together. The cardigan is one that my friends bought me last year. I wore it with jeans earlier this year and I loved how it looked. Since I started the blog I find myself wanting to wear things completely different each time. Each outfit might be different but that doesn’t mean that the new outfit is better, it is just different.
The Southwestern style also reminds me of the boho style. I use them together all the time. I wanted to play off of the cream color so I added the Hayden earrings which look like carved Ivory. They have a delicate rose pattern carved on the end of a 2″ drop.
This is one of my favorite boots for fall. I love the caramel color, it is probably my favorite shade of brown. I bought this pair of boots, and all my other Marc Fisher shoes, at the overstock store which is in town. This is a store which purchases pallets of overstocked or returned merchandise that comes from QVC. There is a variety of items there and it is pot luck to what you can find there. All of their shoes are 25.00, no matter if they are sandals or leather knee boots.
The deep teal corduroy pants are a pair that I bought when I went to Charleston. You can tell that I don’t get a lot of shopping opportunities by how much I buy when I get to go. I think that is called, “making up for lost time.” Lol! These pants were one of the many items that I bought at Talbots. This was the outlet mall so most of the items I bought are not on the current websites. However, being the sleuth that I am, I found some comparable items.
We didn’t get to do our Thankful Alphabet yesterday so today we can do E and F. I saw that several of you mentioned exercise and energy and those are both things that I need! What about F? Food!!! It seems like I am always hungry. Lol! Fire, freedom, and fish are a few of the things right off the top of my mind. Let’s see how creative you can be.
Yes, this is my actual eyes really, really up close. Other than a bloodshot looking eye from where I just put in a contact, I don’t think they look too bad. Love the boots!?
I think I commented with my E words yesterday, so I will do F. Fur babies are awesome! France is on my bucket list.
Eggs and Friends! Eggs are delicious by themselves, but also make a world of other foods come together. Friends are family you choose, and there are never too many. I have been disappointed overall with our closest outlet mall stores, but I LOVE the Talbot’s outlet. It’s like a wonderland!
Beautiful sweater! Outfit looks great on you. Lynn M
Forgot the alphabet! E- excitement! Can’t have enough of that and F- felines cause I am a cat mama
Love the outfit. E is for energy. I’m always trying to find more. F is for family. Mine is quite small and I cherish them all.
Exercise and family, both of which I will have tomorrow when we do a 10K Turkey Trot and then have family over for dinner. Need to get moving as I will have 21 of us for dinner.
Your hair looks super cute! I like it the other way too. It’s fun to change it up. I have days when I style mine straight hair and other days curly.
Faith Family French Fries
I love the way this outfit is so slimming on you! I am so ready to have a new wardrobe, one that is slimming and not “f”rumpy! I’m fairly tall and people tell me that I look best in “classic” styles like Talbot’s outfits. And I do like that style but I always seem to be in clothes that are frumpy to me. Your blog is helping me see how to put together a more youthful look. I just need to find one of those outlet stores, lol! $25 for leather boots!? Amazing. And who knew Old Navy had clothes for “adults”? not me, until now! My words are “Family, Fall, Freedom and Elephant, Environment.
What a beautiful outfit! And your hair looks gorgeous! Have a wonderful Saturday!
Love your outfit! E…elephants! F…family!
