SOFT, FEMININE AND ELEGANT
Soft, feminine, and elegant -what’s not to like? Today for your viewing pleasure I am bringing you the perfect lightweight poncho courtesy of one of my FAVORITE shops, the Purple Poppy. Whenever I get an email from Erin asking me if I would like to style something from her shop I stop what I am doing and go look immediately. That tells me that she got in some new items and I can’t wait to go to her website and check out the new arrivals. Before we get to the poncho though I am going to tell you about this dress that I have on. The dress is a Barbara Gerwit Palm Dress that I got from the Purple Poppy back in March. I wore this when I went to San Diego and I have worn it many times since then on date nights and shopping trips. I’ve often thought that this dress would be really cute to wear to a summer wedding or event but I did worry about getting chilly. As soon as I saw the poncho I knew that my problem was solved.
This is the Caroline Grace Tassel Poncho in the color turquoise. I love, love, love this color!!! It is vibrant and just the right hue for spring and summer, but turquoise is also a huge color trend for the fall season! One of my favorite color combinations is dark brown and turquoise. I guess we will have to style this again with those colors to show you how nice it looks. This is 95% cotton and 5% cashmere so it is durable AND extremely soft.
Did I mention that this poncho is also versatile? It’s Friday night and that means high school football games to me. I simply put my head through the opening of the poncho and let it drape down in front. This is a perfect way to have some warmth around my neck and since it is soft, I don’t have to worry about it being scratchy.
The tassels are nice and full and make the poncho very stylish. Tassels are still a huge fashion trend and you will be very stylish when you wear this poncho. Just because I am going to a football game it doesn’t mean that I don’t want to look nice. I admit that I have worn my share of sweatshirts to football games but those days are over. If I have my choice of looking like this or wearing a sweatshirt you already know what I would choose.
Here is yet another way to wear this poncho. No one would even realize that you are wearing a poncho and not a scarf. Instead of putting my head through the opening of the poncho, I wrapped it around my neck and inserted the other end of the poncho through it. Seriously, how cute is this??? I am wearing this with a simple white button-down, a pair of jeans, and a navy jacket. While that is a classic look, you have to admit that the scarf adds some flair (as well as warmth) to the outfit.
So, whether you are going to an outdoor wedding, going out to dinner in a restaurant that freezes you to death, going to a church where they think that the temperature needs to be in the 60’s, or heading out to a ballgame this would be perfect. It’s soft, feminine, and elegant.
After shopping, type in Poppy to receive 10% off at checkout. PLUS, if you spend a $100.00 you will receive free shipping. That is a pretty sweet deal.

Hi, Tania, great style, beautiful colors….love your attitude about aging! I just started a blog, http://www.50stillalive.com/Life-after-50 , riley roman
I have those shoes!
I love them, don’t you?
I adore a poncho! And I love that this one is so versatile. All mine are a little heavier weight, so I can’t wait for it to finally cool off enough that I can wear them again
Beckey, most of mine are heavier also. That is one of the great things about this one.
Hello Tania, re yesterday’s cascading ruffled vest you mentioned you could maybe order on your store site ….. If you can get it in Large/Brown at your store, let me know the details on how to do that. I really love that vest and so disappointed they don’t ship to CA. Thanks so much.
I’ll check for you tomorrow, Susan.
Oh Tanya that is such a beautiful feminine outfit. And I love how you showed us all the ways we could wear the Poncho. It has been so rainy and dreary here for over a week and we are used to the Sun so I am tired of it. Your outfit was just the thing I needed. Have a super fun weekend!
It hasn’t rained here in at least two weeks!I hope your weather clears up for the weekend.
YOU are such a Beautiful Summer Blonde! Your color choices are spot on for the cooler months, too! Always a surprise in how you choose to add your “favorite” colors in with a “Fall” look!
YOU make every outfit look joyful! Joie de Vivre!
Happy Weekend to you, Miss Tania! ????
Awww, thanks, Miss Annie!
Love all the outfits!!!
Hi. Love the poncho. Beautiful color. That color makes your eyes shine. I want one. I also freeze in restaurants, etc. I think I’ll visit Purple Poppy today.
Tania I LOVE all these things you did with one poncho! ??
Love this poncho!!! The color is so beautiful and it looks awesome in both outfits . I agree this is such a great color for fall. Have a wonderful Friday Tania ?
That color is gorgeous! I love it worn with the navy blazer and jeans. I have a couple I rarely wear, but now seeing yours as a scarf, I’m going to try them that way! Thank you for the tip! ?
Kathy, I love the color also. The hot pink also really spoke to me.
It’s only taken me about 50 years to figure out how to wear these items, and how to make them so versatile!! See—there are advantages to getting older.
This is a great color on you Tania!!

I wouldn’t have thought of this for fall or as a scarf! Thanks for the inspiration!
Janet, I love wearing it as a scarf. I am always cold so I am constantly on the lookout for items that can keep me warm and look nice at the same time.
Love this outfit. Never would have known it was a poncho not a scarf…..you look lovely as always.
Isn’t this just the cutest thing? I love the color!!!
