You gurls all seem to love my stories, and I have a great one for you today. I am afraid this might be one of those stories that were funnier in person but doesn’t sound as funny in print. I’ll try to do the “story” justice, so try and put yourself in my shoes as I tell this “story.” Yesterday, I was on my iPhone, and I got a notification that somebody had tagged me on a post. The notification asked me if I wanted to add this to my timeline, and I decided that it was a good idea. I usually approve tagged posts from my laptop, so I was looking everywhere in my settings to figure out how to approve the post. That is when I saw something that caught my eye.

Apparently, FaceBook uses face recognition technology, and it asked me if I wanted to tag myself in these photos. I started scrolling, and I was so confused. People are all of the time taking my pictures and acting like they are me, so that was what I thought was happening at first. The more I looked at the posts, the more confused I got. It was apparent that the exchange was from a mother and daughter, but I wasn’t sure how I was involved or how I even saw the photos since they were phone screenshots. I could see the name of the person posting the images, so I went to her FB page to do some investigating.

I soon found out that Story (her name) put up a Facebook post showing screenshots that her mother sends to her daily. Mom thinks that my hair is similar to Story’s, so she started sending her a photo each day of my posts. Story’s mom told her that I was what she was going to look like when she turned 50. Lol! Now, it has become a daily routine and something for them to talk about. I love it!!! When I figured out what was going on, I called my sister, and we laughed and laughed until tears were running down our cheeks. THEN, I came up with the brilliant idea of commenting on her FB post last night. Story and mom were pretty shocked when they saw my comment.

The truth is, I was pretty flattered that the mom even thought I resembled Story in any way. Story is drop-dead gorgeous, and I only wish that I had looked like her when I was her age. I even found out that story has a sign on her porch also, and her fiance keeps encouraging her to have her photo taken with it each day. I am seriously dying here!!! So, now Story, Mom, and I are all official Facebook friends, and I hope to meet them one day soon. Until then…

We decided to ZOOM instead! It was great fun meeting these lovely ladies, and I can’t wait to meet them one day in person.

I hope that you gurls could see how funny the whole situation was and that my description of events was easy to follow. Let’s talk about today’s outfit; it is a casual day for me. It rained all day on Friday, and today it is still gloomy and wet. So, soft and cozy is my look for the day. I wanted to show you how picking an item that has a great design detail is important. If you take away the front tie from this shirt, you are just left with a plain gray shirt with no “curb appeal” at all. I’m not particularly fond of the neckline, the color is blah, and even though the top is soft, it wouldn’t have been enough to persuade me to make the purchase. However, this is why small details can make a huge difference in the overall look of any outfit! I am wearing a size 1 in the Zenergy tie-front top, and it fits me perfectly. The top also comes in three other colors, so be sure to check those out.

I like the looks of these straight-leg nightfall wash jeans. The lighter wash jeans were all that I wanted to wear this summer, and now I find myself enjoying the deeper, darker washes for fall. The straight leg cut is also a perfect and forgiving jean for almost everyone, and they are easier to wear than the skinny jeans or the flare jeans. After some trial and error, I’ve figured out that when I purchase pants or jeans from Talbots, I need to size down. So, these jeans are a size 8, and they fit me perfectly.

I’ve had these Steve Madden studded loafers since last year. I still love them, and the snake print is perfect for this time of the year. The combination of the browns, creams, and blacks is what I love about this print, and it makes them perfect to wear with almost anything. I’ve been trying to show more flats lately since so many of you request those, and I have a couple more coming soon.

I wanted to make sure that everyone knows about the TWO specials I am running until the end of the month. The first is on LASH BOOST!!! You’ve seen my eyelashes, now look at my daughters.

  7. Cute story. I was afraid it wasn’t going to end well, but glad it did.

I love this outfit, I went to the link to see the ad for the top and have to say, it looks much better on you than the model! I would have never taken a second look if all I saw was the model wearing it. Thanks

  8. Awwwwwwww – so cool that you reached out and posted about Story and her mom…..the Zoom picture is great too. Personally, I’m so happy I got to meet you in person here in Georgia. But to all your followers, I can tell them that you are exactly how you are in your posts – fun to chat with and beautiful inside and out!.

What fun! You told it well. I only read a couple of blogs and yours is one of them but it’s been a while since I’ve checked in. Lady, you just don’t seem to age! You look fabulous. Picture day for teachers is coming up so naturally I wanted to see what you were wearing to give me some ideas. I totally missed that you reached a new number back in May – Congrats! Now about today’s outfit, I’ve always thought women shouldn’t wear grey after a certain age because it can tend to wash some women out but not YOU! Looks great. I love your stories, your honesty, your love of the Lord and your family and you put together a mean outfit!! Be blessed!
