SILVER, IVORY, AND BLACK MAKE A GREAT COMBINATION
Today, I’m styling one item, the buffalo plaid skirt, in several different ways. Normally, I don’t wear a lot of skirts or dresses, but I must have been in the mood one week since I’ve had several to photograph and put on the blog. I’m also going to be sharing some of the results on the survey, so be sure to read the entire blog for those statistics.
Like yesterday’s blog post, I’m not going to talk in between every photo since there are a LOT of photos. Too many pictures were one of the “would like to see change” comments that several people mentioned. I actually figured that people liked to see more photos instead of fewer, but I guess that I was wrong. I do like to show the outfit from as many angles as possible, so maybe if I’m not as chatty, you’ll like it better.
Before we start, I am 5’6″ tall, and I wear a med/large in tops, a 10-12 in dresses, and an 8-10 in jeans. I’ll tell you the size of the item that I’m wearing in the links. Anything that is in BOLD and a different color than black is a link Click on that and it will take you to the item that I’m wearing.
Certain items are from my closet, and they are no longer available for purchase. When possible, I’ll try to find you some similar items and link them below the original link. Now, let’s get started, and I hope you enjoy this post!!!

I missed the survey! Drat!! I love your posts and order a lot from them. The only comment I have is that I only purchase leather bags , clothing and shoes. Can’t stand vegan leather! For this post I am ordering the skirt and pairing it with a leather silver jacket.
You do a great job! I wouldn’t change a thing! I do order thru you because you make it so easy to find the items! I missed the survey.
I also missed your survey, but I agree with some of the previous comments, you don’t need to change your blog,I really like it the way it is! I especially like the blogs where you feature multiple outfits! You seem very down to earth and that makes reading your blog very enjoyable!
I must have missed your survey, however I will say how very much I enjoy your blog. I have probably been reading you for about five years and I love your so called chattiness lol. I have come to know you and like you and your family through your stories. I love to hear the latest on Joe and your kids and brands too, even Lucy lui. I also do enjoy your clothing choices as well. I feel your “chattiness” makes your blog more personal and feel like you are Sharing your life with us, which you are. Please don’t change yourself for some others, they can always look at the pictures and fashion info.
You look awesome . Love the skirt and all the ways you styled it. Happy New Year.
I bought that same skirt last week and love it. I styled mine with a white flowy camisole (gotta hide the tummy area), a red cardigan and knee high boots.
I think your blog is AWESOME, I love it all! It’s ALOT of work, so kudos to you!
I love the fall and winter styles the most…..my fav times of year for CLOTHING and just LOVE your style in all of those areas….just way more to wear, sweaters, coats, boots, gloves, hats, on and on lol! Although I don’t love the cold weather so much, but thanks for your blog…it’s SO refreshing to see a REAL person in clothing…and that looks great…you have really boosted MY confidence and allowed me to step out of my comfort zones in alot of areas with clothes and shoes, so THANK YOU! and HAPPY NEW YEAR! 🙂
you have great legs – you should wear skirts often!
These outfits are SO my style, and you look great in all the pictures. This was my clothing style when I taught high school business classes 18 years ago. It’s a timeless look!
These look great on you! Thank you for the great blog. It’s obvious you put a lot of work into it. I’ve followed you for quite a while, and you have really upped your game👍🏻
Love the skirt with the black sweater and tall boots. I’m going to have to try this one on.
This is totally my style!! I love boots with skirts!! This classic style is fabulous!!
I’ve always loved the look of a short skirt with opaque tights and boots! There’s something about it that makes you feel sassy! Love the look on you; particularly the outfit with the silver vest. So pretty!
I’m mulling over the skirt. Being only 5’2″ and a little wider than you are around the hips, I don’t know if the horizontal plain would do me any favors. May have to stop into a Talbot’s store and try it on!
Great post!
Of course, trying to please everyone is impossible, but, for the record, I like all of the pictures and all of the writing. I love seeing outfits from different angles, and I really find it helpful when you discuss the features you like about each item. I also really enjoy your playful, funny writing style.
You are looking great and such an encouragement to me. I will turn 62 in June and need to lose a few pounds, but you have done it . . . . and so can I! Thank you
I LOVED these outfits today. Oh My . . . You looked so good in them!! Nice job! 🙂
You look FABULOUS! My favorite is the skirt with black tights and boots! Youthful, classy, classic, stylish! Sharp outfit!
I love the plaid skirt! I would probably wear the black sweater, but I love the ivory sweater on you.
Hi You have slender hips and look so nice in slim skirts and pants. What do you recommend for those of us that are more pear shaped with wider hips? It would be nice to have some options displayed that are recommended for those of us in this category. Thanks.
This has to be one of my favorites. I love these colors.
I really like your look today. I like the skirt and the tights and the black boots with the white sweater or black turtle neck. Great on you. I shop at Talbots…….can you get credit even if it is not something you have put in a link but a totally different item?
Loved todays post and outfits. The buffalo plaid skirt is adorable! I need to wear skirts more too- so stinkin cute. just need a few ideas on ways to jazz things up.
I like the buffalo plaid skirt with the black mock turtleneck the best of all the outfits today. It is a classy look that I appreciate. Thank you for your daily blogs and daily verses. I read and reflect on those every morning!
For the record, I love seeing as many angles of an outfit as possible, since that’s what people see in real life. And I love the narratives berween the photos. Your personality really comes through and that makes the blog more personable and different. Hello to Lucy Lu!
I really like the silver puffer vest but I don’t how to style it. Would you post more outfit options using that vest?
Tania, you look so cute in all those outfits today!
This may be my favorite outfit ever! Love the skirt and ivory sweater!! You look amazing❤️❤️❤️
Tania you look Great!!
Love, love all the outfits today !!
I love the ivory tops with the skirt. You look beautiful in all of them. Skirt is amazing!
I love the all the outfits today! I don’t like my knees to show, so I wish the skirt was a few inches longer but you look terrific!
Black tights for the win!
Thank you for combining the links for each outfit. Much easier to find specific items that way!
Amazing outfits! Quick question, can you tell me the name and where you purchased your pursed insert that you talked about several months ago? Thanks
Wow wow wow. Like you Tania I am not a skirt person. But both of these outfits blew me away….so guess who just placed a nice little order with Talbots… All on sale yay
I will miss your chit chat with the pictures. I love to hear a good Joe story!! Or how you think something fits, or something about your grandkids or Lucy.
Beautiful outfit-each version looks wonderful, but I particularly like the black sweater version. Keep up the good work.
I love all these looks! However, I like you to talk about them, not just list the items. Please tell us how they feel, fit, etc. That’s why I follow bloggers/influencers so I can get their opinion and to tell me about the items they are trying on. And I love hearing about your life and family…please continue to do so💕.
Karen, I still intend to do all of that. I just wasn’t feeling great yesterday, and I took a shortcut.
I love these outfits, especially the sweater with the shoulder buttons. The skirt is lovely, and it’s good to see the clothes from all different angles, so I can tell if it would be long enough, wide enough, tapered or straight, etc. Thanks!
Thanks, Diane, that was my thoughts also.
I love all the combinations and that skirt is just gorgeous. I haven’t worn a pencil skirt since I retired in 2012 but glad I kept them and they still fit. It’s fun to see the many different ways you can style one item of clothing!
I don’t wear skirts often, but I do think that we need to keep certain clothing on hand for just in case moments.
Wow Tania you look amazing in all the outfits today. I love every one! This post was a home run. Thank you!
I liked them all too, Rhonda!
Love all of these outfits today! I look forward to your post everyday, I say, don’t change a thing!
Happy new year Tania!
You are too sweet, Mary Beth!
Love this buffalo check skirt today and the many ways you styled it. This is my favorite type of post because it shows the versatility of one piece!! Thank you for showcasing Talbot’s today!! You look great in this combo!!! My favorite is the combo is the skirt with the silver vest!!! Thank you for all of your hard work! Happy New Year to you and Joe
Thanks, Jill! I loved the skirt and wanted to show how you could wear it several times with different tops.
Really great look of plaid/check skirt. I have been hesitant to even try on a large check /plaid bottoms because I figured it would be unflattering . But the outfit looks great and really appeals to me. Thanks for getting me to think out of the box.
That makes me happy to hear, Mary Ruth. We all need to try new clothing and styles because our bodies change, and our attitude changes. Mine changes all of the time.
You are adorable but I miss the days of one or two photos of your outfit on your front porch and a funny story about what’s going on in your life. Now it feels like you are a salesperson. I still enjoy seeing what you’re going to wear but It’s become high end and predictable like every other blogger. I miss your quirkiness! Sorry..I still love you though!
I think my fav look is the first one. I must say the results of the survey surprise me. Home decor is a lot higher than I would have thought.
I was surprised by that too, Eve.
I can never tell if you get my comments?
Maribeth, they all have to be approved before they go on the website, so that can take some time.

My favorite look is the skirt, silver sweater , black tights and booties. Looks really sharp.
I thought it looked great together.
I like the black turtleneck best. Like the tights and short boots too.
Thanks, Shelia!
Linda 73yrs old. Love everything, you look wonderful & healthy🙌🏻.Following you on instagram, do not know how to (what you asked above) & do not know what website means😞
Linda, when it asks for a website as you leave a comment, that is only for people who have blogs, etc. You can just leave that part blank.
Hi Tania
I like your chatting about your outfits. It is the personal touch that makes your blogs interesting. At Christmas dinner this year the “gurls” and I got on the subject of our favorite blogs and I found myself saying Tania says this or Tania does that, and I felt as if knew you. I had not realized how much I enjoyed hear about your take on the fashions you were bringing us. I like you chatting about your life and family. It is an endearing quality that many bloggers don’t possess. I guess you can’t please everyone. I like your style. May you and your family have a happy and blessed New Year.
Ellen, I appreciate your comment. I love talking about my life as well as describing the clothing, and I’m glad to hear that you like that.
I like to see the outfits from different angles and I enjoy you been chatty.
Thanks, Mary!
