50 Is Not Old | Short, Sweet & ShaggyWhen you have more to do than you have time, something has to give. The something tonight is this post. I wasn’t smart enough to plan ahead and do a post early, because tonight I have a woman’s club meeting. Therefore, you will be getting the short and sweet version. Haha50 Is Not Old | Short, Sweet & ShaggyHere comes the shaggy part. This weekend when my sister-in-law was here,  she noticed a small dog running behind my house on the railroad tracks. Yes, I have a train that runs right behind my house. We went outside and called for it, but it ran away. I went next door to see if it was their’s, but it wasn’t. I looked for it again that night, but never saw it again. Last night when I took Beckley outside to potty, he took off like lightening after that same small dog. I yelled like a mad woman till he finally came back, but the other poor dog was long gone. Then this morning the poor thing was on my back porch eating the cat’s food. I snuck out the side door to see if I could catch it, but nope once again.50 Is Not Old | Short, Sweet & Shaggy

As, I was leaving to go to work, I was driving down the road in front of the house, and the little dog started running down the street in front of me. I stopped the car and honked the horn. It actually stopped and looked at me, so I opened up the door and called for it, and it actually came to me. Poor little thing was FILTHY. Not just a little bit, but muddy, nasty, stinky, dirty. I picked it up and put it in the car, and it seemed right at home. I am sure I stunk by the time I made it to work. I just happened to have a dog crate at work, don’t ask why, so I put it in the crate and found it some food. It gobbled down two bowls. I called the dog groomer and she agreed to work the dog in, to try to get out some of the cockleburs.50 Is Not Old | Short, Sweet & Shaggy

When “she” got back from the groomers, she consumed some left over food, a few French fries, Girl Scout cookies, and some chicken. It was what we had on hand. I am going to post on FaceBook that I found a dog, and let anyone that is missing one send me a picture to see if it is theirs. Otherwise it looks like me or my sister-in-law will be getting a dog. After all she is the one who spotted her. Haha.50 Is Not Old | Short, Sweet & Shaggy

Till then, she needs a name. Bertha says Gypsy, Sandy says Missy, I have been calling her Lucy Goosey, and my son says Sassy. Do you gurls have any suggestions? As I write this she is under my left arm, sound asleep on the couch. And, I have just discovered she snores. Lol!50 Is Not Old | Short, Sweet & ShaggyNow for the fashion part of this post. I took this picture probably a week ago. I was trying to get in a few pictures, just in case one of my outfits didn’t turn out like I had hoped. Guess what??? Yep, you guessed it. The outfit I wore didn’t look too hot in the pictures. That more than likely means that it didn’t look good in person either. Haha  So, I pulled this one out of the archives. The cardigan is by August Silk, and that probably means I bought it at T J Maxx. Here is a similar one. The white top is the Simple V (c/0) from Covered Perfectly, it is the perfect summer top. The navy sailor type pants were from Old Navy, and they are at least 3 or 4 years old. Here is a similar pair.

Sorry, I don’t have a lot of fashion on the blog today. I just didn’t manage my time very well. I will make it up to you tomorrow. And if the pooch is still here, I’ll post a picture! Remember to vote on a name, just in case.

I want to thank everyone who has entered for the Stella & Dot tote giveaway. If you have not already entered, then go here to enter.

Gypsy! Thank you for saving the little girl! As someone involved in “rescue”, that is much more important than fashion ( and I adore fashion!) !

Love, Love, Love the outfit you have on today! And I’m pretty partial to Gypsy, too. It seems to fit her “on the run” story.

  8. Hm, maybe Gypsy because it fits the way you found her BUT I also like to ‘see’ if a name fits, too. Waiting for a picture to decide for sure!

  9. I would name her “Lucky Lou”

  10. Mary Theresa Fisher says:

The name Gypsy is very appropriate. Let’s hope sheinds a new home. Doesn’t look like the previous owners were watchful. Good luck. Can’t wait to see a picture. What kind of dog is it?
