50 IS NOT OLD | SAILOR STRIPES AND EYELET TRIM | FASHION OVER 40The weekend is here and I can’t wait to see what it will bring. I think that I am going to get to babysit a little bit Saturday night and that is always fun and scary at the same time. Lol! I managed to raise three perfectly good human beings but I swear that I can’t remember how. Lol! Emersyn is a breeze to watch. She can amuse herself with coloring, play-doh, or playing with her Barbie house. Little man is going to be the concern. He has never stayed with me much since he has been born and I worry about him having a fit while Joseph and Kayla go out on a date night.
50 IS NOT OLD | SAILOR STRIPES AND EYELET TRIM | FASHION OVER 40I can remember once when Emersyn was little and she was staying with me. She must have been cutting teeth or something because you couldn’t do anything to calm her down. She screamed and I rocked and sung and bounced and anything else that I could do but nothing really helped. Joseph and Kayla were over 2 hours away so I just had to tough it out but I was sure glad to see them walk back through the door that night. Lol! Little man is a whole lot easier going that Emersyn ever was. He is normally very content and hardly ever cries. I sure hope that he stays like that tonight. Lol! 50 IS NOT OLD | SAILOR STRIPES AND EYELET TRIM | FASHION OVER 40This cute striped top with eyelet trim reminds me of a sailor. If you like nautical type clothing then you will love this. This is a cotton blend and is hand wash and line dry. I am wearing a size large (the size that I normally wear) and it fits me fine. I think that I liked the neckline better than anything else about the top, it is so unique and flattering. This is a lightweight top and perfect for the chilly days of spring with its long sleeves. I got this from the Trunk Club shipment just the other day. I love this service because I don’t get a lot of opportunities to go shopping but also because I can take pictures of the clothing even if I decide not to keep it. This is my version of bloggers who go to the dressing rooms in stores and take pictures of what they are trying on. Lol! Want to guess if I kept or returned the top??? 50 IS NOT OLD | SAILOR STRIPES AND EYELET TRIM | FASHION OVER 40 I just wanted to show you the eyelet trim up close so that you can see the fabric. You can also see that I need a manicure. Lol! Some of you have asked about my nail polish and what the color is. They are actually a hologram and when I move they change color, kind of like a cat-eye color. 50 IS NOT OLD | SAILOR STRIPES AND EYELET TRIM | FASHION OVER 40It is Saturday, so I don’t have any jewelry on except for this pair of earrings. These are the Aspen earrings from Plunder Design. They are a light blue filigree design that has an antiquing over them and they are a two-inch drop. These are only 8.00 so be sure to stock up on lots of these type earrings for gifts for teachers, etc. Go to plunderdesign.com/taniastephens to place an order and pick a party with my name on it. 50 IS NOT OLD | SAILOR STRIPES AND EYELET TRIM | FASHION OVER 40These straight leg raw hem jeans are by NYDJ. The raw hem is on-trend this year and this pair has a wider leg than the ones that I have tried on before. They actually fit very nice and are true to size. They have a lift-tuck technology that flattens the tummy and lifts the rear. Who doesn’t want that? Lol! I bought some raw hem jeans the other day from Old Navy that I really like to and I am going to link to those below. These are not very expensive and allows you to have a trendy item without breaking the bank.

50 IS NOT OLD | SAILOR STRIPES AND EYELET TRIM | FASHION OVER 40I don’t wear a lot of sneakers. I have never worn sneakers so they are not something that I normally gravitate toward. The Chuck Norris converse trend has been going for several years and now they are ramping it up a notch or two. It is all about embellishments this year. You will start to see more and more sneakers that have embroidery and embellished add-ons. Look at these I found today online, they are kind of cute.

50 IS NOT OLD | SAILOR STRIPES AND EYELET TRIM | FASHION OVER 40I hope you have a fantastic Saturday. Vote whether you think that I kept the top or not and I will give away a free piece of Plunder to one of the winning guesses. I can’t wait to see how well you gurls know me. Lol!

  1. The striped top is cute enough with a lot of styling possibilities, I just don’t think it’s you Tania. I think it wasn’t a keeper.

I think it doesn’t have enough detailing for you to keep. You are drawn to items that hav e more something to them than this does. Looks a little big on you too. I vote you said no. Too average. C.

I think you kept the top! Love the neck line and the lace! Casual but eye-catching!

  4. I see this going with several things, so versatile. Cute with navy shorts, white skinny jeans, a pop of red or yellow or green☘ I think you kept it?

  5. I think you’ll keep the top – it looks great! I’ve just ordered one for myself.
Love your blog, enjoy your grand babies tonight !

  6. I vote no, you did not keep the top. Who has time or wants to hand wash clothes anymore. I do love the lace trim on the top but not crazy about the jeans. I like a lot of your other pairs on you better. OMG…I feel the same way you do about watching your grandkids. My hubby tells me that I raised our two boys so why am I nervous about watching the two grandkids. It’s just different….I just don’t want anything to go wrong while they are under my care. So glad I’m not the only one that feels this way. Hope they are little angels tonight!

  7. I love the top because of the neckline, stripes and lace bottom, but think you probably returned it since we are heading into Spring and won’t need long sleeves much longer. Happy St. Paddy’s Day to you!

  8. I love the neckline, too, and the stripes, but I’m not crazy about the trim. I’m going to guess that you didn’t keep it. Can’t wait to find out if I’m right!

I don’t think you kept the top. Although it has the details you always look for, it doesn’t scream “Tania” to me. Not a huge fan of the raw hem look…takes me back to cut offs when I was a teenager. Not sure I want to go back to that look – although you always seem to be able to carry anything off! 🙂

  10. You will keep it because eyelet sets it apart and it is different than most of your clothes.
