ROMANTIC AND FEMININE DETAILS
I am the kind of grandparent that will let their grandbabies do just about anything they want as long as they won’t get hurt doing it. So, Sunday night when Emersyn wanted to come over and play she gets to choose what we do. First on the agenda was a banana popsicle that she was thrilled I remembered to pick up at the store. Next was our coloring project which will take us months to finish because it is so complicated. Then she moved on to playing a version of Angry Birds on my phone which “she” downloaded herself. Lol! Then things got funny.
Don’t ask me why but I happened to have a BRAND NEW (that part is important) flyswatter. This was a smaller version and also one that was retractable so that it could fit in a purse. WHO wants to carry a flyswatter in their purse??? Anyway, when Emersyn found this she immediately latched on to it and started playing with it all around the house. I told her that it was new but that when you hit bugs with it that it would be nasty and that she shouldn’t touch the swatter part. Joe came home later and saw her playing with it near her face. He kept telling her to not put it near her face and that just made her want to do it more. She and Joe have this “thang” where they pick at each other and she thought this was a game. Finally, he saw what she was doing so he decided to try reverse psychology on her. He should have known better. He said, “go ahead and put it on your face, I don’t even care if you lick it.” YEP! She licked it! I thought he was going to have a heart attack right then and there. She saw how upset he was becoming so she did it over and over and over. I told him to calm-er down and that it was brand new. But, as soon as she laid it down I hid the thing. Lol! I am not going to chance her licking it after it has been used. I hope her mom and dad aren’t reading this, they might now let her come over to visit again for a while. Lol!!!
This has to be one of the cutest tops that I have ever bought. This was in my Trunk Club shipment that I got in December. My stylist, Elizabeth, will send me a notice of what she has planned for my upcoming shipment each month. I almost told her not to send this top because I was afraid that it would look like I had “banded” down my breasts. My chest is not large enough to be banding down so that didn’t seem like something I would like to wear. When my daughter came home for Christmas and saw my email she immediately said that the top wouldn’t work for her either since she is large chested. I tried the top on and came out to show her how surprised I was and she was just as shocked. She told me that I “HAD” to get the top. I agreed with her!!! This is by Halogen and it comes in several different colors if you are not a fan of the dark teal. The lace panels and pleating add a girly, romantic, vibe to the top. Be sure to check out the back of the top later in this post. The top is machine washable making it a KEEPER!
Who in their right mind would wear a necklace with this top? I didn’t want to take away from the gorgeous lace so I only added the Farlan earrings and the Corey bracelet. There are so many colors in the Farlan earrings that they could match almost any top. Did you see all of the jewelry I ordered just as giveaways???
See how cute the top is even from the back??? Here is also a good look at the block heel and how the shoes zip up the back. They are gladiator style sandals by Sole Society. I have had this pair for over a year but you can still find this style around.
I was telling you yesterday about some of the effects of menopause and how it affects our skin. Because of the decrease in collagen and elastin – 2 important structural components – we may experience sagging and wrinkling. Around this time the fat in your skin can start to redistribute. The fat had been keeping the skin in place and once it moves so does the skin. Using the correct products and tools can help with collagen production. You can actually train your skin to start producing collagen again. Peptides and retinoids like retinol and retinA along with the use of micro-needling tools can help the skin go into “healing” mode. I learned about this when my daughter went to the dermatologist for acne scarring. They put her on Accutane (one of the biggest mistakes we have ever made) and she ended up with scars because of this treatment. The dermatologist used a laser one each scar and a small scab would be the result. They told me that when the skin is distressed that to heal itself that it would send collagen to that area. The collagen would “plump” the scar and eventually fill in the void. That is what the AMP MD tool does. It does a small amount of irritation to the skin (not something that you will see) and the skin will send collagen to that area. Plumper, smoother skin will hopefully be the result. Remember that I am not a dermatologist, I am only telling you what I have been told and what I have found in researching the subject. If you are interested in the AMP MD tool then now is a great time to take advantage of the 20% off special that R+F is offering. You look gorgeous! Great outfit!
Oh my goodness, you are right! That is the cutest top ever! I love the new feminine tips that are coming out for Spring! That color is beautiful w your hair and skin too! I’ve never seen pants like that but they look great! Do you use the Amp Roller every night and after which part of the nightly routine?
I am not a fan of that top. But, then again, I am not a ruffly type girl. It does remind me of a maternity top also.
I have to give you credit for showing all kinds of styles of clothing. This top would definitely not be for me, but you wear it well! I will have to share your granddaughter story with my daughter. I have a grandson who does things like Emersyn, too! Ha ha!
I think you look super cute in that top! I’m praying for spring to arrive so we Ohioans can wear cute shoes like those again. They aren’t going to work in our 6 degree weather. 🙂
Tania I love your adventuresome style. My daughter gave me a subscription to Trunk Club I have never used— I think I need to try it! Darling shoes in this outfit too! Julie
This look is not for me. If i was super slim, maybe. I agree with the other comments on that it looks a little like a maternity top. That shows my age since women today really don’t wear “maternity” clothes. Have a great day.
I’m not quite sure what I think about this blouse? …it’s beautiful, but probably alittle too boxy for my liking. Styles like that always make me feel like I’m wearing a maternity top, and at 55 I don’t want that! Lol….I’ve seen those pants around now, have never tried a pair on to see if I like them. I do love the teal color!
Kathy, it is funny that you and several others mentioned that the top seems boxy. I guess it is because it is a flowy material but it didn’t “look” boxy at all. The movement might have helped.
I now know exactly why we could be friends outside of the blog…..I love your “let’s address it right up front” approach! I love the color of the top but thought it would look like I was pregnant… my chest would be too large and I would feel conspicuous! Thank you for being honest and sharing your thoughts and observations! Best…Kathy
Kathy, if you are large chested then it might look too boxy but otherwise, this did not seem overwhelming at all.
I love this look! You look great!
