Black blazer and burgundy ankle pants worn by Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not OldGood morning!!! Did any of you stay up partying last night? How about, did any of you watch the ball drop last night? Or, did any of you at least think to yourself before you went to bed, “tomorrow is a brand new year?” Lol! I might have fallen into the last category myself, and there is no shame in that at all. Watching the ball drop is something that I like to do, but as my daughter commented yesterday, “it is kind of anti-climatic.”
Black blazer, a plaid top, and burgundy ankle pants worn by Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not OldI just told Joe that next year I want to ring in the new year from Paris. Of course, I had to make sure that I told him that I meant France, not Tennessee. LOL! I have never been overseas, and I am not sure that I will like traveling that far, but we are to the age where we need to travel while we still can. I see a lot of you posting pictures from other countries, and I have never been tempted to travel. But, for some reason, I am getting the itch to see things that I have never seen before. But, according to the weather, now would not be the best time to travel to France. SO, those of you who travel, what would be a great place (temperature-wise) to ring in the new year in 2021?
Black blazer with a plaid top worn by Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not OldThe first thing that I want to do is set your mind at ease. I am NOT standing on an active train track. The cars behind me (and some on the other side of me that you can’t see) are not attached to an engine. This track is not active at the moment, look at the rust on the rails. The tracks on the other side are the ones used daily to transport coal from our county so that it can be made into steel.
A plaid top and a black blazer worn by Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not OldThe Stewart tartan plaid top that I have on is very stylish. I wanted to start the new year off with a stylish outfit, so be sure to let me know if I succeeded. The colors in this top are great for the holidays, but they are not something that you can wear only at this time of the year. This top, with its cute puff sleeves, can be worn all spring long. It is lightweight, made from cotton, and is machine washable. It is also very popular, and only available in small sizes. I am wearing a medium, in case you were wondering. Even if your size is no longer available, you can easily incorporate this pattern into your wardrobe.

Burgundy ankle pants and black worn by Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not OldThe color of these ankle pants is beautiful. It is called Rioja on the website, but I have no idea what that word means. So, I am going to call them a claret instead. These are an ankle-length style, and they have a high waist with a tie belt. The pants are a blend of Polyester, Rayon, and Spandex, plus they are machine washable. I am wearing my usual size 10, and they fit great, if not a little loose. These pants come in black also, and here is the link.

black jeweled flats worn by Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not OldAll of you that say that you can’t wear heels; here you go. Finding cute flats is not an easy task, but these jeweled flats sure fit the bill. These have a padded insole, so they are comfortable as well as cute. They fit true to size, and they are on sale. Enough said!!! Here is the link.
A vintage green glass necklace with a plaid top worn by Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not OldMy green beaded necklace is a vintage find from years ago. I didn’t bother to check the tag, but this looks like Vendome or Vogue to me. I love vintage jewelry, but obviously, you can’t click on a link to get your own necklace. But, I thought that you would appreciate seeing this piece. I own this necklace (here) and one almost identical to this one. I don’t own (this), but it is a gorgeous Vendome piece if you like green.
Black blazer and burgundy ankle pants worn by Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not Old with a train in backgroundWhen my daughter takes my photos, this look happens a lot. I love having her around, and I am already dreading when she heads back to Alaska in a few days. I am trying hard to remember to be thankful for having her home for several weeks, instead of dwelling on her leaving. Joe and I are going to make plans for a trip this summer to spend time with her and Andy.

I am wearing an older knit blazer in black that I have had for several years. It is a tiny bit on the big side, so I don’t wear it very often. When I was looking for some similar links for you, I found a couple that is on sale that I think I am going to order for myself in hopes of finding one that fits me good. A classic black blazer should be a staple in everyone’s closet!
