PUTTING ON THE RITZ
Everyone needs to get away every now and then. My trip to Lake Oconee has provided some much need rest and relaxation. While relaxing was high on the agenda going out to eat for a nice dinner was even higher on the agenda. I knew we had dinner reservations on Saturday night and I was stressing over what to pack. I wanted to wear something that I hadn’t worn before and since I am traveling with a younger crowd I wanted to look really nice.
I pretty much leaped for joy when I got the email from Erin at Purple Poppy asking me if I liked the Nally & Millie Polka Dot top. Typing “YES” was done it record time. Polka Dot prints are fun and I am drawn to items with this pattern. I really liked that it was black, go figure, because I was already envisioning wearing it with a pair of white pants.
The top is sheer and the polka dot pattern is over the entire top. I added my own black tank under the top but I also played with adding white and a bright pink color. They both looked super cute and I can see wearing the pink with jeans later for a more casual look. This top runs large so I am wearing one size smaller than usual.
You can never go wrong with classic black and white. Erin asked if I had ever tried the Lisette pant and wanted to send me this full-length pair to see what I thought. I am usually skeptical of white pants if I don’t see them in person. I knew that the quality of the clothing I had previously gotten from the Purple Poppy had always been great so I figured these would be nice. I was right, this pair is plenty thick so that you can’t see through them and there is a front panel on the inside to give extra tummy control. This pair has plenty of stretch so that you have no problem getting in and out of vehicles. There is also an ankle pant style for those who need a shorter version. I am wearing my normal size which is a 10.
It doesn’t matter if you are going out to dinner, attending a party, or just feel like putting on the ritz, you can’t go wrong with this outfit from Purple Poppy. And in case you were wondering, that younger crowd loved my look. Lol!

“Hanging” with a younger crowd can be challenging but I prefer to think they are looking at me and thinking what a classy lady…I want to look like her when I’m that age! I’m sure they looked at you as a role model. Very nice outfit. The top looks very versitile would love to see it styled with pink! Glad you had fun. Much deserved! Best… Kathy
Kathy, the younger crowd is so much fun. I forget that I am not their age but they probably don’t. Lol!
Love it. Very classy and yet fun.
Great outfit! You can never go wrong with black and white! Hope you had a fun time!
I love this outfit on you. So cute! I have to admit though that I still can’t wear white pants after Labor Day here in Minnesota. I never see anyone wear white pants in the winter. We are expecting a snow storm today. No school!
Bonnie, I understand how you feel. The first time I wore white pants after Labor Day it felt like everyone was looking at me.
Tania. Just love an outfit like this. Black and white are my favorite color combinations. Look forward to getting up each morning to read your Blog.
Gorgeous!!! and Classy!!! I am not sure how to whistle in text lingo….but let’s just say the younger girls have nothing on you. So happy to hear you are getting some R & R. ~Lisa~
