PLAID SHERPA VEST
Thanksgiving week is here and it is time to start making plans for getting together with friends and family. Good food is what most people look forward to and I must say that I look forward to that too. My favorite part of my Thanksgiving meal is the sweet potato crunch, it is like dessert. Yum, yum.
We stay in Grundy for Thanksgiving and normally Joe’s sister comes in to visit. It is just a small gathering with her 3 family members, Joe and me, and Joseph and Kayla and Emersyn. There are just 8 of us, so we don’t have to cook a huge amount of food. We will eat, sit by the fire and talk, eat some more, then watch TV, and then eat some more. Lol!
I bought this vest earlier this year and sat it back in the closet till it got colder. That time is now, it was in the 20’s this morning. That is very cold when you are out on your front porch in you gown and robe taking out the dogs to use the bathroom. I take a big blanket and throw over my legs and sit in the rocking chairs for them to do their business. I love the plaid design and the colors just scream fall. The brand of this vest is Jofiel and I looked and looked for one like it on the internet. I never did find one that I thought was really close, but I did try.
Who is going shopping on Black Friday??? I probably will do most of my shopping right here on the computer but I might venture out a little. I will try to do a post of some sales I find interesting for you and I will be offering a Black Friday, a Shop Small Saturday, and a Cyber Monday deal on Rodan and Fields that you will not want to miss. If you have been curious about all the hype of Rodan and Fields, this might be the time for you to check it out. I can tell you this, since I started using the AMP roller, I will not be sporting the turkey neck look this year. WooHoo!!!!
I have so very much to be thankful for. I am blessed beyond my wildest dreams and I am grateful to the Lord for all HIS mercy and HIS grace. I want to leave you with this song, one of my favorites, it seems so appropriate at this time.

Love, love, love this outfit! Every single thing about it! Have a Happy Thanksgiving!
Aww, you are so sweet to include me in your post, dear! Thanks! I am thankful for you! You brighten up every day & I so look forward to what you’re stylin! I love this outfit & wish I had that vest to wear to Thanksgiving dinner at my daughter’s house in Silver City, NM. She rarely invites me, so I’m thrilled to be going~! I baked all day to take the things she asked for – all the ingredients for the cornbread dressing like she asked – all homeade, and my homemade rolls. I’m also trying a new recipe I found on Facebook called Heavenly Cranberry Salad. I hope yours is full of blessings (and no tacky comments)! Love you!
Do you have a recipe for the sweet potatoe crunch ? Thank you !
Love everything about this, Tanya! Plenty of character and class. One of the best looks ever featured on your blog.
Love that vest!
I love it! You are so good st putting things together! God Bless and Happy Thanksgiving!
I love, love, love that outfit. I did see a similar vest at nordstrom rack earlier this year, but I think it is sold out now. You are rockin’ the look!
Love this vest and look! My question is about jewelry, though. I notice you often layer necklaces. When I have tried this, the chains have become hopelessly twisted around each other, so the necklaces don’t fall nicely. Do you have any tips for getting this layered look right? Thank you, and Happy Thanksgiving!
I wish I had some tips for you, Kim.
Thanks, Tania. I’ll keep trying.
This is one of my favorites! I love the casual look & the bits of turquoise! Happy Thanksgiving to you & yours.
You’ve done it again, Tania. A simple look, but so stylish! When I read ‘plaid Sherpa vest”, I though, really?? SO adorable! Happy Thanksgiving to you & your family.
Super cute vest! You look like you’ve lost a few pounds. You look great! I’m a little busty and I think vests make the girls look that much bigger. Maybe if I can lose a few pounds, I won’t feel that way. (On that note, I’m about to go walk a few miles before jumping into some deep cleaning projects.)
Yes, we have much to be thankful for. My husband had a procedure on his heart in October that was successful. My son and daughter-in-law are expecting their first child in May! And it’s a girl! My son finishes his MBA at Rice University, also in May, and has a job waiting for him. My daddy will be 90 in January. He still plays golf 2-3 days a week! God is good, all the time. Happy Thanksgiving, Friend! XOXO
We are always wanting to lose a few pounds? Wanting is usually all I do though. You do sound very blessed, Brandye. Congratulations on the new baby, they bring so much life into the house. Have a Gappy Thanksgiving.
Love this outfit! You are simply adorable. Have a great Thanksgiving! ??? .
Another rocking outfit Tania!!! Been a little chilly here in central Florida in the early morning, perfect for a vest like this but having to peel it off with the long sleeve shirt by noon. Being from New England I miss the winter clothes but not the snow and ice and freezing cold. Not sure where u are located but obviously a climate where your outfit is perfect for this time of year!! Have a blessed Thanksgiving.
Super outfit for this time of year. I really like the black and brown together, a combination I never think of. Thanks once more for bringing a great fashion lesson to my attention. The jewelry is the perfect “pop” of color.
Sweet potatoe crunch sounds yummy. Can you post the recipe?
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family.
I will try to post it later tonight when I get home.
That vest looks so cozy and comfy! The colors set off your hair nicely, too. Looking good, T!
This outfit is one of my favorites! I don’t have that exact vest (wish I did!) but I will try to replicate the look with what I have. Thanks for the ideas you provide everyday! Happy Thanksgiving!
I love that you kept most of the outfit subtle so the vest was the star of the show!!
The last thing I need is to go shopping. Luckily my mom’s & i (the other models on my blog) don’t exchange gifts anymore since we don’t need anything. We try to do things together instead. This year we’re going to Vegas for a couple of day!!

You will have a great time in Vegas?
I really like this outfit Tania! Have a nice day!
Ah! We don’t have Halloween, we don’t have Thanksgiving! I am living in a pretty boring country!
That is an awesome outfit!
I can’t say enough about that plaid vest. Such a cute outfit. I will be on the look out for one. I love vest because they don’t way me down. Can’t wait to see all the black Friday deals with you and plunder. I always love your cross necklace. May just have to go for it if still available. Need new boots another item to add to my list.
It i a great time of the year to start making out that must have list. I look at it like how much I saved. Hahaha
Cute out the boots a great, need to get me some similar ones. x Jacqui

Love it Tania black and brown are gorgeous together I love that combo ???
I love black and brown together! It is one of my favorite combos.
Loving your look Tania. Thanksgiving sounds like so much fun – shame we don’t have it here in Europe.
I have however written a post sort of dedicated to all you Americans celebrating now – it’s about styling silver shoes so you can be festively dressed without too much effort 😉 http://funkyforty.com/let-feet-dressing/#comment-8305
Have a fab day!
xx Yvonne
You look lovely again, super vest and those boots are to die for! I find that I need to go up a size when I wear vests like this for some reason, I think it drapes better on me that way, maybe I’ve got a funny shape ?
That is funny Caroline because I will usually size down in a vest like this. I like them to hang open some and when they are my true size they feel to bulky. I would suggest everyone tries the vest on before purchasing.
