PAIRING CLARET AND TURQUOISE TOGETHER
Last Friday night I was writing on the blog and also doing a little surfing on Facebook. I would write a little and then surf a little. A lady that I am friends with posted a question that said, “What has happened to Jean Claude Van Damme?” That caught my attention and I started reading some of the responses. Which got me to thinking about the Volvo commercial where he did the famous splits.
Do you remember that commercial? I just had to see it again after I started thinking about it so I went to YouTube and typed in Van Damme semi-truck because I couldn’t remember the name of the trucks. It is the coolest commercial ever and it makes me nervous just watching it. When that commercial ended I saw one on the side that said, Chuck Norris, one-ups Van Damme’s epic split commercial. Guess what I did? Yep, I watched that commercial also and then went back to writing the blog. All of that to say WHY I called my sneakers Church Norris’s instead of Chuck Taylor’s. Lol!!! Moral of the story……….don’t surf the internet while you are writing the blog. Hahaha!
I bought this deep claret lattice sleeve sweater last fall at a local boutique in town. I like the uniqueness of the cold shoulder look, it is not so revealing and I feel a little more covered. I think it funny how I feel exposed when I am wearing a cold shoulder top but I don’t think twice about wearing a tank top in the summer. Lol! I guess it is because I feel like the rest of the sleeve is “supposed” to be there. Haha! This sweater is heavyweight and actually a little longer than I would like. Because of the weight, it tends to pull itself down and I feel like it stretches out of shape. I wore it in October with a much brighter color.
I have a pair of stretchy legging jeans on with today’s look. I am not sure which pair I have on with this look, I took this picture the other day and I can’t tell. It doesn’t really matter the brand anyway since there are literally hundreds to choose from. I love my Rockstar jeans from Old Navy because they are affordable and a decent quality. I truly love all the jeans that I have gotten from Kut From The Kloth also. They are a little more expensive than Old Navy’s but they are a great premium jean.
I know a lot of you are not ready for open-toe shoes. The weather may not be quite as nice where you live just yet but it is coming soon. I have a pair of navy suede booties on from Marc Fisher and I love the gold zipper accents on these shoes. Marc Fisher is a brand that I really like and so far everything that I have gotten from this brand has been excellent quality and has held up to me. That is saying a LOT because I am not one to pamper my shoes or clothing.
Okay, I bet a lot of you are wondering about the blog post I did on Saturday. I showed you an outfit that I had recently gotten in from my latest Trunk Club shipment and asked you to guess if I kept the top or if I sent it back. I loved reading all the answers and especially the reason “why” it stayed or was sent back. The answer is……….I sent it back. I did like the top but since I have so MUCH clothing, something has to “wow” me or I have to be able to see me wearing it multiple times for me to keep it. The hand washing part didn’t bother me because I wouldn’t have done it anyway. Lol! Remember, the whole not pampering my clothing part? The winner of the Plunder Necklace is Donna Jones. You should receive an email from me shortly.
I really appreciate all of the shares and the pins of my outfits that you have been doing. PLEASE continue to do that, you won’t believe the difference it has made in my number of visitors to my blog.

What are your favorite Kut from the Kloth jeans?
Kristy, I love the Diana from Kut From The Kloth.
Good morning! Love this outfit. I don’t have opened toe booties, yet. Not sure if they’re for me or not, but to be hones I’ve never tried on any. I gues I can’t judge if I haven’t tried them.
I was so proud of myself for figuring you didn’t keep the top from Saturday’s post! HA! It’s the little things in life. :). Have a great day!
Hahaha! Alex, you are getting to know me pretty well.
Hi. Really like this look. It is so flattering to your figure and the colors are pretty. I got my first open-toe booties last fall and love them. The blue ones are right up my alley. Gonna have to pin this outfit. Have good Monday.
Adorable outfit and you look so thin!!!!
I love this outfit on you !
I really like the color combination and the jeans. I much prefer jeans with a hem versus the frayed look. I just can’t get used to those – yet!
Sally, a new trend usually takes some time to get used to. That is why I bought a pair from Old Navy because they are inexpensive and I can “try” the trend without spending a fortune!
I only have one cold shoulder…well actually, just a part of the arm on top is missing and that’s what I feel like when I wear it…some of the sleeve is missing and I keep trying to pull it up. I do love the color of this sweater top and love the whole outfit as it looks comfy casual but yet dressy. And…I was waiting to see where those jeans came from and then you said..it doesn’t matter..LOL I liked that they were just the right wash. How did watching the grandkids go this weekend?
Sandy, the cold shoulder trend is one that I like and hate at the same time. I think it all depends on the top and how it fits. I ended up only keeping Emersyn and we had a great time!!!
I love the pairing of these colors. Now that you mention it, I wondered why Chuck Norris was designing ladies shoes haha. Not a fan of the cold shoulder/holy clothes trend that keeps hanging on. I must be in the minority as it is still big in all the stores. You, however, are lovely!
Sandy, I didn’t even catch the mistake until several ladies started mentioning it. Lol! I decided to leave it instead of editing the blog so that others can see just how crazy that I am. Lol!
Good choice with the jewelry. It really adds to the top…color and shine. Best…Kathy
Love the outfit ?
