OFF THE SHOULDER STYLE

Hi, everyone!!! Are you getting sick of seeing my San Diego pictures? I actually thought I had more of them but I can’t find much more. It seems like you are taking lots of pictures when people are walking by staring at you. But, when it is time to put them on the blog there are not enough to choose from. I only have one more day of pictures from SD and then it is back to the boring porch. After seeing all the beautiful scenery and lush green it makes the porch look kind of blah. I bought this top while I was in San Diego last week. This one is “very” similar and much cheaper. I loved the blue and white striped print. It reminded me of the seersucker outfits that I used to dress my kids in when they were young. I thought I would love the extra string at the shoulder so that you didn’t have to worry about the top pulling or falling down. Turns out that I hated the string! Every time I moved my arms and the top ended up raising up on the shoulders the strings would “pooch” up. I think I will probably end up cutting them off. I didn’t wear much jewelry with this outfit. I only wore my Ashton earrings and a few bracelets. The Dixie bracelet is new to me, I only got it last week. It looks like a bunch of arrows and the really cool thing is that it is a matte finish and it is elastic. That makes it easy to put on and take off. The only problem I had with this bracelet is that I would occasionally get one of the arrows out of place and would have to re-straighten the bracelet. Not exactly a big problem. The other two bangles are some I wear often, the Aisha (My Faith Is Bigger Than My Fears) and the Shasta (Pray). I really hate showing this angle, it is not my best side. This top was bad to billow and look like I was pregnant. I had a picture where it was all sticking out but I couldn’t find it. I really wanted to show you that picture, it was hilarious!

Found it! Now you can see why it was in my “trash” folder. Ha!

I love white jeans. I never used to wear white at all but once I started wearing white I can’t wear it enough. I swear I could wear white almost now every day. If you are like I was, break over right now and go buy a pair. White will go with anything and you can now wear white all year around.

I warned you that I would look like crap in these pictures. My makeup is virtually gone and my hair is horribly flat.

Really enjoy your blog! You are a very fashionable lady with great ideas. I love the trim on the sleeves. And, as usual, you make it look adorable! The white jeans – YES – I agree with you. Last year I obtained my first pair (53 then) and I’m just dying to get them back out now. Thank you for all the inspiration and affirmation that 50 (and then something) is NOT old, it’s a right of passage and I’m happy to be in this part of my life.

Really cute outfit! I have purchase a few off the shoulder tops, but none with straps. I love them. Then I realized I needed a bathing suit without straps so i wouldn’t have tan lines….

I think you look lovely! It is always a shock to the system for me to be on the coast of California. People say “sunny California” right on the coast may be sunny -but the water currents come from the Arctic and it always feels cold to me; not at all like the coasts of Florida.

Isn’t it so fun to take pictures other places than just your house? We actually have a game now to try to find different backdrops (just for me though—mom & Nancy’s are still at their houses).

My legs are very heavy so I avoid white pants with a passion; you make them look terrific!!!! Enjoying your SD photos.

Lori, I bet you are your worst critic. If you try a pair and just wear once I bet no one would ever think about your legs being heavy. However, if you are uncomfortable in something it will show in your face.
