NEW YEAR’S EVE STYLE
Have you started to take down your Christmas tree yet? Some people take down their tree as soon as Christmas night rolls around. Then, there is another group who wait until New Year’s day to take down their Christmas tree. I usually fall into the second group because years ago I heard somewhere that it was bad luck to take down your tree until New Year’s day. I am not sure what the reasoning was but I love the look of a tree, so I will leave it up as long as possible.
My poor tree has been “up” for two years, so I think that I need to take it down this year finally. Lol! The poor thing has been knocked over numerous times and is missing several ornaments (broken during the falls), so it is starting to look pitiful. I love the tree, it is a champagne color, and I like it better without any ornaments for the soft glow that it puts out. But, I think that January 1st it will finally have to come down, I hope that I left it up long enough to not have any bad luck. Lol!
Have you ever heard that anything black is hard to photograph? You can’t see details in a photograph of black items. Today’s look is an example of what I would wear for a New Year’s Eve party. When I think of New Year’s Eve style, I think of wearing something with sparkle. This black lurex turtleneck has a beautiful metallic thread in it that gives a festive shimmer to the sweater. I adjusted the lighting of the photo to show you the sparkle in the top.
I don’t have on a lot of jewelry since I opted to wear this metallic scarf. I bought this champagne/silver scarf at Cato Fashions, but I don’t see it on their website. There is a black and red one on their website, go here to see it. The jewelry that I did add is the Tessie earrings and a few bling magnetic bracelets. I layered several of the Pamela and Kayson bracelets in peach and gold rhinestones together for this effect. 
I loved these foiled medallion print pants when I first saw them a couple of weeks ago. They are comfortable and have a lot of stretch to them. I like that they are pull-on also which is fabulous since most of us might have eaten more than we need during the Christmas season. Lol! I ordered these online, but I ended up exchanging them for one size smaller. The smaller size now seems tight, so I must be in-between sizes, or maybe I ate a tad more fruitcake than I needed. Hopefully, I will lose a few pounds before New Year’s Eve so they will fit better.
I wanted to make a toast to ring in the New Year, but I didn’t have any Champagne in the house. I don’t let the details stop me, so I added some watered down apple cider to my glass to make the toast. I try to pick a Word of the Year and this year I had two words that keep popping up. I guess that I will have WORDS of the Year this year. Lol! My words for 2019 are Growth and Caring. I can see lots of applications for these words, and I am bubbling with excitement for what is to come in 2019. I predict that it is going to be a great year!!!
A New Year is the perfect time to think about what you would like to change for the better. There are a few things that I want to work on in the coming new year. Some of my goals are small, and some are HUGE, and that is the way I like it best. All of the small changes can end up creating huge differences. If you have been thinking of making a small change, such as taking better care of your skin, then let me know. I love everything about this. Your outfit, jewelry, hair even the champagne tree! It makes me want to go somewhere on New Years Eve. I hate to take my tree down just because after the hustle & bustle of Christmas I have time to sit and enjoy it.

As a Catholic, we were taught to keep Christmas decor up through January 6, Three Kings day, or also known as Little Christmas! The twelve days of Christmas is from the 25th of December through January 6.
The Christmas tree should be down by the 12th night (12 days of Christmas) not sure how you count this but it is the 5th or 6th of January. As a family we start to take Christmas down any time from New Years Day. I love Christmas.
Tania, you look so thin and beautiful in this outfit! I don’t know about bad luck and trees and have left mine up in the past as long as the end of January. it is a pity we only leave out beautiful sparkly decorations up for a few weeks. this year my goal is new years day to take it down.
Mary, I usually would take my tree down sometime in January. However, the rains start around that time and my tree is stored in a building that you have to walk through soggy and muddy ground as long as it is raining. SO, I would put it off longer and longer because didn’t want to walk in the mud until I figured I might as well just leave it up.

My mom has always told me it is “bad luck” to leave the tree up until New Year’s Day. I know several people that leave their tree up through the epiphany, including my mother-in-law. I sure wish I knew the answer because I certainly do not need any bad luck.?????

You look fabulous and that is an ideal New Year’s Eve outfit. Your tree skirt is adorable. I haven’t settled on goals for the new year yet, the word or words for the year is quite appealing too.
I can’t remember where I got that tree skirt, it is several years old.

I was brought up where the tree had to be down before the New Year so we always make sure it’s down on New Year’s Eve.
You made me laugh about your tree! I brought my Mother’s tree in ( she’s been gone for 12 yrs) and when I started putting it together the whole top 3rd was missing. Yes.. we lost part of the tree. I should say Hubby lost it because that’s his only job during the holidays! LOL!

I actually have some of the simplest goals for the New Year. I just want my family to be well, hubby actually goes through with Knee and Hip replacement surgery well. The biggest goal for this year for me is actually getting hubs to retire entirely! That one is just an up hill battle!
I love Christmas decorations so I hate taking them down. Of course, I hate putting them back up also so leaving the tree up works for me. Lol! Good luck with the hubs retirement. I remember a lady 30 years ago telling me that her husband was driving her crazy. She was having the hardest time adjusting to having him at the house all the time after he retired. Lol! Be careful what you wish for.
