NEW ORLEANS STYLE
Today was a misty, nasty rainy day in New Orleans. In fact, it has rained on our parade, literally. I am sitting here in my hotel room writing on the blog and listening to a Mardi Gras parade go by outside my window. We watched some of it but it is pouring the rain and I am not going to go down. I might melt. Lol!This place is crazy this weekend. There is a convention, an NBA All-Star Game, and the pre-Mardi Gras festivities have started. Police are EVERYWHERE!!! I have never seen so many black Escalades in my life. We plan on taking in one of the parades maybe tomorrow but I am taking my own beads. Lol!
This place is all about food, I may not fit in any of my clothes by the time we get home. And it is really expensive. We ate at a restaurant on Thursday night called Cafe Sbisa. It was DELICIOUS!!! Everything we tried was good from the drinks to the desserts.
We had the “special” water. This was Mississippi water and Louisiana ice. Hahaha
Joe went with the Trout Eugene which was fabulous.
I wanted to try something different so I got the Turtle Soup. It was good too but his was better. After dinner, we went back to the hotel and sat outside by a fire and had a couple of drinks.
The fire pit is propane and we now have one on order for our back porch. I love sitting out on the back porch at home but I hate when we have the fire going because my hair smells like smoke for days. I just can’t get it to wash out.
We went to the convention today. The place is HUGE and you can walk for hours and hours in there and not see everything. This was my view for the most part……
We came back from the show completely worn out. A two-hour nap somehow got put on the agenda. Lol! We decided to try Drago’s for dinner on Friday night. We had heard from several people that their charbroiled oysters were great.
They were right! They were delicious. Joe spared one for me and I was lucky to even get that. Lol! It is time to once again head out and explore New Orleans.

Looks like you two are having a great time – New Orleans is on my list of places to visit…the food and music <3
My husband and I spent several days in NOLA this past summer. It was such an interesting place, although VERY hot in July! We stayed at a delightful hotel on Bourbon St. What an experience! I don’t think there’s anything like that anywhere else in the US. Have fun!
