NAVY & WHITE ARE CLASSIC
Gurls, I am dragging my tail! It has been a long day for me already. I traveled to Tennessee, along with my BFF’s, Sandy & Bertha, to visit my mom and attend a vintage fashion show. It took forever to get to Tennessee, especially when my car kept stopping every few hours. I am sure the fact that there was a shopping mall where it chose to stop, was simply coincidental.
Redbud winter has arrived in Tennessee, and after a couple days in the high 70’s, I am freezing. On our way home Sunday, we only had temperatures in the 40’s. I forgot to even bring a coat, I am not the best packer you ever knew. The part where I wait till the morning I am leaving to pack, might have something to do with that.
Today’s outfit is simple. I have on just a few classic pieces of navy & white that will stay in style year after year. I have on a navy pull-on sweater from Old Navy that I bought a couple years ago. Navy never goes out of style.
And I chose to wear my white ankle pants with the navy. Everyone needs a pair of white pants. It would be nice to have a dress pair, and at least one other pair for a more casual look.
Here is a look from the back. I really hate taking a picture from the rear, it is not my best side. Haha
I am carrying a white and tan Dooney & Bourke satchel that I bought from the QVC outlet. It is a purse that I can carry all spring and summer. Here are a few white purse options.
The statement necklace I am wearing is from Chloe & Isabel. It is called the Morningtide Convertible Collar necklace. I like that it has a lifetime guarantee and is nickle-free.
I have on a pair of blue jean espadrilles from Isaac Mizrahi. These shoes are a couple years old. I like the casual look of the blue jean material. They can go with jeans, shorts, or dresses. I like outfit pieces that are versatile. Here are a couple espadrille shoes that I think fits that bill.
What size do you wear because I don’t know if I will look the same with the outfits you model
Jeanette, I am 5’6″ and I wear a size 10 or a Large. I hope this helps:)
I went to high school with your sister.
You poor thing! Hahaha
I just found your blog through Deborah Boland’s blog. I really admire your fashion sense. A vintage fashion show sounds interesting. Is it a fundraiser? Or just for fun?
Both, Sally. We host one for our local woman’s club. We charge admission and get 20% from the sales. We pay the ladies who bring the show 200.00 to put the show on.
I just signed up to receive your blog! I am a young (immature) 58, and I teach second grade in a small town. Most of my coteachers are quite young and they are always trying to “update” my look. I am a classic Ralph Laurenesque type gal and stumbling upon your ensembles on Pinterest, I noticed that you do classic with a modern twist, by using updated accessories. I am inspired! I think my young friends will be impressed that the old girl has stepped it up a bit! Many thanks for sharing your style sense!
Thans Elaine! I like that analogy. Be sure to let me know if they notice a change in your style and attitude.
Absolutely love the outfit! Everything about it is perfect! And your granddaughter is adorable!
The lapis blue is my favorite color.
