I can feel summer in the air or maybe it is just wishful thinking on my part. I started thinking the other day about summer and how if sure does differ as an adult versus when you were a child. I remember one year that we moved to Kentucky over the summer. My father was a supervisor for some company that was building a hospital and it was going to take all summer long to get it built. He had been staying in Kentucky through the week and coming home on the weekends. When school was out for the summer we decided to rent a trailer and move to Kentucky so that we could be wth him through the week and he wouldn’t have to travel.
I think I was going to be going into the 6th grade that year and my sister was going to be in the 1st. We lived in a little trailer park and there were lots of other children for us to play with. I can remember riding my bicycle, the kind with a wicker basket on the front and a banana seat, all around the cul de sac. When it would start to get dark you would have bats start swooping down and that scared me to death. That meant it was time to go in the house. When it was really hot we would play under the trailer. It must not have had underpinning, at least it didn’t in the back. We built dirt roads and played with our dolls and cars for hours. Do kids still do things like this or do they now build roads on computers? This was the outfit I wore the day I was traveling to Florida. I always try to pick something that I know will be comfortable because it is bad enough having to travel, you sure don’t want to be uncomfortable too. This tunic/dress is one that I bought at Old Navy a couple weeks ago. It is the swing dress style but this is the first one that I have bought that has the ribbed material. I thought the dress was black and was surprised when I went outside to take my pictures and could then tell it was dark navy. Lol! Even when I was in the store I thought it was black. ?
I just got this necklace the day before I left for Florida. I really liked the sentiment and the beads on the chain helped it to stand out. Can you see the little chicken on the design? It says, “With God all things are possible.” This necklace is called the Chalana. Plunder has a new feature under the menu tab. When you go to “SHOP” and click on the menu tab be sure to check out the “specials” and now the new “Plunder Sets” feature. I have opened a new party and that URL is plunderdesign.com/party/tania8so if you click on a link and it does not tell you that you are shopping in this party, please let me know.
This purse looks white but it is more like a winter white or creamy white. It has a cool feature of a python print down the center. It is a neutral color and one that can be carried all spring and summer long. I like having a variety of purses. I want some that can be carried with anything and I like those that are “statement” purses. My mother will carry the same stinking purse no matter what. She doesn’t understand my “need” for different purses. Whew, I don’t think we are related! Haha
You know I always fess up when I make a boo-boo. This is one of those times. Lol! I thought the dress was black and white so I wore a pair of black crop leggings with it. When I stepped outside to take my photos I was surprised when I looked down at it was navy. I was heading out the door and already running late so I didn’t bother to go inside and change. I figured you would get the idea and I bet this has happened to you a time or two also. I mentioned this to my Energizer Bunny friend and she thought it was black too. It wasn’t until we stopped to get something to eat that she said that I was right, it was navy after all. Here is a plus size in black.

Love your blog! Just curious if there is a reason to sign up for emails if I already get the blog on Facebook? I see other bloggers mentioning the same thing and just wondered why the push to sign up for emails. Thanks!
I have just turned 49 in Feb. I have ALWAYS been ALL about clothes ,shoes, make up, jewelry…the whole 9 yards!!! Your blog is very inspiring! I work in pre-k with 4 yr olds ‘all day. It is very easy to wear dressed down clothes and no jewelry that makes a ‘gurl’ feel soooo depressed! You have said and shown out loud what I’ve known all along! Appearance is everything inside and out!!!!
I am a new fan of yours, and I do like your style. I just ordered the pretty dress(Barbara Gerwit) and I got the discount using your name .Thank you .??
.
You will love that dress!!! It is very comfortable also. I hate wearing items that are “stiff” I always go around “feeling” of the material before I buy something.
I have had tops in the past where you couldn’t tell whether it was black & white or dark blue & white. Because they are so undetectable, I think you can easily be forgiven for thinking it was one or the other. Unless it was SO obvious, no one else will notice either. Love this tunic and as I stated in yesterday’s comments, I could wear it without leggings because I’m short. You look really cute in it and haven’t seen anything you positively DON’T look good in!
I love it that you are so “real” Tania!!!! I say this as a compliment because there are so many people that think they have it all together but don’t and you can see through them. In other words, I appreciate your honesty. I am not sure if I ever wore black and navy clothing together but I HAVE worn a navy shoe and a black shoe to work before….it was too late when I noticed so “oh well”. Have a great weekend. ~Lisa~
Thanks, Lisa. ? When I first started blogging I would get comments about they were so glad I was a “real” person. It took me a while to understand that it was a compliment. I thought everyone was real but I now know it means that I don’t pretend to be something I am not. Why would I want you to like (hopefully) someone that was not even the real me. I always look forward to your comments, they make me feel good. I have had plenty of “oh well” moments in my life. Lol!!!
Thank you Tania!!! I was telling my husband about you (and Joe) the other day and how down-to-earth you are. I told him that I would love to meet ya’ll one day. ~Lisa~

Do email subscriptions cost anything?
No cost involved. This only sends you a notice that a new post is available to be seen. Thanks for asking, Lisa.

Tania, it is hard sometimes to tell if it is black or navy! But it looks great together! And I love the jewelry!!! Hope you have a blessed weekend!
I know, Jan, you really do have to look hard sometimes. Thanks for following along on my imperfect blog. Lol!

Once again, you look great! What was the Mexican festivities about? That looks like fun!
Tracey, it is a Mexican holiday that celebrates the Mexican army’s unlikely victory over the French in 1862.
I do wear blue and black together. I love the tunic you are wearing!
It is pretty hard to tell, the difference in color, (yes I have done it before too), but this is a cute outfit!! Jewelry too!!
