50 IS NOT OLD | MY COMFORT ZONEI was preaching yesterday on my Facebook not to enter the “comfort zone” and here I am all comfortable and cozy. I bet all of us have something we fall back on when we are needing a little comfort. If I am feeling sick then I want homemade vegetable soup. If I am feeling stressed then I want a long shower or even a soak in the tub. And when I am feeling rushed I want to listen to some soothing music. 50 IS NOT OLD | MY COMFORT ZONEThe comfort zone is that place we have where we are in no danger. There is peace and harmony and no surprises. Everything in our comfort zone is predictable so there is no stress involved. Does that sound heavenly or boring to you? Truthfully, I like a little of both. I would like to think that I am bold and adventurous but the truth is that I am not. I tend to live my life in the “safe” zone. I will not be jumping out of airplanes, I don’t see me ever swimming with sharks, and I’ll leave the mountain climbing to the goats. However, I have found that as I am getting older that there are a few things I am willing to step outside my comfort zone for. I think it has something to do with not caring as much what people might think. I was worried what people would say when I started this blog so I didn’t tell anyone for months, BUT, I still did it. I HATE talking in front of people, it makes me a nervous wreck. BUT, I have volunteered to lead a meeting of R+F women next month where I will have to talk in front of a lot of women. WHY? Because, if nothing changes then nothing changes. I don’t “want” to be the quiet country mouse who is always missing out on everything. I may not be the best at what I try but at least I am going to try. Who knows what I will do in my sixties!!! Lol!50 IS NOT OLD | MY COMFORT ZONEOne of my comfort zone outfits to wear is a sweatshirt and jeans. Can I see a show of hands of those who will agree with me? When I am feeling blah or if I am in a big hurry and I don’t have time to try on several different things then I will fall back on a sweatshirt and jeans. It is easy and it is fast, plus I don’t have to put a lot of thought into the process. Thankfully, I know this about myself so I have been trying to buy cute or stylish sweatshirts. This sweatshirt is adorable with the attached blue and white striped cuffs and bows. This was in my very first Trunk Club shipment and it is by Halogen. It is no longer on the website so I found some cute and stylish sweatshirts for you that would be perfect for being cozy and fashionable at the same time.

50 IS NOT OLD | MY COMFORT ZONEI just about lost my Bree necklace this past weekend when little Miss Emersyn came to visit. She spotted my necklace and said, “hey, my last name starts with an S” and then she wanted to put it on. Since it is a dainty necklace it looked cute on her and wasn’t too big or long. She wore it for a while and then told me to take it off and once it was off I put it out of her sight. Lol! I think that I will order her and Matti B one the next time I place an order. I attached a Valentine pendant (no longer available) to the Silvie silver chain. This is a basic silver chain with a lobster claw attached. You can attach any charm, pendant, or even use it as a lanyard and attach your badge. My earrings are the Anyssa and they are a sweet little knot design. The bracelet I have on has Blessed stamped on it and it is called the Lydia. I love this bracelet but I want to forewarn you, it is not easy to put on by yourself. Emersyn had to help me hold the chain so that I could get it to close. You definitely will need some help or one of the bracelet holder things that can help you.

50 IS NOT OLD | MY COMFORT ZONEMy hips hurt me every so often if I wear a lot of high heels so I will go through spurts of wearing flats to keep that from happening. This is one of my go-to flats. It is a super cute little leopard print ballet slipper by Isaac Mizrahi that I got last year I think. Little slippers like this are really handy to slip on and head out the door. No tugging, buckling, or zipping is required to put them on. Lol!50 IS NOT OLD | MY COMFORT ZONEIt was time to give my skinny jeans a break. These bootcut jeans are by Vigoss and I purchase them at Maurices. I like the brand Vigoss and their jeans are fantastic. They are heavy duty and wash up well. I don’t notice a lot of shrinking even when I dry them in the dryer. Yes, I am someone who actually dries their clothes in the dryer instead of hanging them around the house. 50 IS NOT OLD | MY COMFORT ZONEAll good things must come to an end! 1. Hi Tania, I love this sweatshirt! You look beautiful! I also have issues with my hips hurting. My Dr. told me to ice them for 20 minutes at a time. I love your flats, I have some cute ones, but every time I put them on, I end up not wearing them because, to me, they don’t look right on me. You’ve inspired me as you often do ?

Cute, cute. I wore my Valentine pendant today too and loved it. Happy Friday eve.

  2. Cute outfit. With my child care I don’t dress up daily. Let’s face it don’t need spit up or glue on nice clothes. But I like how you dressed this up a bit. Gives me ideas, jewelry out though, with infants it’s not safe. I’m going to get me some leopard flats.

  3. Sandra S. says:

Super duper cute! I love this whole outfit!

  4. Love the leopard flats! Cute outfit!

  5. Hi. Like the whole look. Shoes are my favorite part. The leopard print gives the outfit just that little something to keep it interesting and special. Been following you for over a year and went back and read first blogs. You are getting better with your writing and styling. You should be proud of getting “out of your comfort zone”. Well done.

  6. Cute outfit! The sleeves and the cuff on the sweatshirt are nice details that we don’t normally see. Love the leopard shoes! Have a great day 🙂

  7. Cute outfit. I wouldn’t jump out of a plane either. If you want to “experience” that try indoor skydiving. Same thrill but you have a nice safety net to catch you. It is lots of fun.

  8. I’m a big fan for the comfort zone too, Tania. Especially, when it is cold and dreary. You are right, we need to occasionally get outside that box and try new things. Love your cute outfit. It is definitely something I would turn to again and again. Have a great day. – Amy

The pose with your thumbs in your pocket was a good one. This is a youthful outfit. You look like a happy teenager. I like sweatshirts and jeans with something extra, so I like the gathered sleeves. Yet not the cuffs and bows. I think a narrow red or yellow piping on the cuff would have been zippier.

  10. That is one good thing that comes with age, to no longer worry so much what other people think! Bravo to you for going outside of your comfort zone and speaking in front of people. That’s a tough one for me too! Love this casual look and the flats! The sweatshirt is adorable.

  11. I am on board with this outfit today! Comfortable look but stylish.

  12. Cindy Casertano says:

I do believe you could put on a brown paper bag and after you accessorize that bag you would look like a millionaire dollars!!! I love this style. Since I retired and I don’t have to dress up everyday I tend to dress more on this level, but yet still look dressed lol… I’m only 4”11 so that makes it tougher with some scarves, but I try to go mini on your style lol. Love your blog.

    1. Cindy, YOU are my new best friend!!! BTW, I have seen people make dresses out of brown paper bags but I don’t think that I’ll be putting one on the blog anytime soon. Lol!

  13. As I get older I appreciate my comfort zone too! You look so cute in this outfit. I have not worn my bootcut jeans in a long time but you have encouraged me to pull them out again.

  14. Totally agree you need a nice outfit to relax in without looking like you surrendered. I just bought a black sweatshirt with floral silky sleeves in blue and white floral. Beautiful and comfortable! Thanks for sharing. Best… Kathy

    1. That sounds like it is gorgeous. Comfortable and stylish!!!

  15. Cute cute cute!! I love simple and comfy too! You are always styling girl!! I like the details on your sweatshirt!! And those flats!!!❤. Didn’t think about Bree for my last name ?

  16. Linda Bunger says:

Cute outfit! Love the adorable sweatshirt! You always look so classy and sassy! Enjoy reading your blog every morning.

  17. LOVE your outfit! Totally in my comfort zone…except the shoes, but you are definitely rockin’ the whole outfit.

  18. Looking stylish as always!

  19. Love this outfit, especially the sweatshirt. The bootcut jeans are very figure flattering. I kept wondering why you had an S necklace. Duh! Last name.

    1. Lol! I will buy my initial in my last name a lot so that my daughter and dil’s can borrow it. Now I am going to have to worry about Miss Em taking it also. Lol!

  20. Another ‘Rule of 3rds’ or something like that, proportioned outfit. (2/3rd legs and 1/3 upper body, for the slimming long legged look), …looks great on you! Cute top and that cut in the jeans and length is my fave on you. Well put together, yet comfortable. That’s the best of combinations. The older I get, the more ‘comfort’ is most important, but at the same time, I fight the frump.

    1. Aww, drats, Diana. I wish you hadn’t mentioned the rule of 3rd’s. I have an outfit in the queue that is styling that rule but done wrong. I have the legs 1/3 and the upper body 2/3. ? Maybe I’ll run it as a what not to do outfit. Lol!

  21. Love, love, LOVE this outfit. Cute, comfortable, and simple..and yet stylish. A+ ♥️

    1. Woohoo!!! I got an A+!!!
