LUCY AND I ARE MAD FOR PLAID
I am beginning to think that Lucy Lu wants her own blog. She is starting to love being the center of attention, and you will often see her in the background. I might be creating a camera hog by showcasing her, but she is just too dang cute not to share with everyone.
Vera Bradley noticed Lucy in some of my photos, so they sent her a bunch of Christmas gifts that matched my fleece pullover. Doesn’t she have a look on her face that says, “I look good and I know it?” Lol! She almost looks regal in this photo, and I think it is the Ribbons Plaid dog collar that made her feel so special.
Lucy really liked the small-medium-sized Pet Bed. She prefers a smaller bed that hugs around her, I guess they make her feel secure. She’s had larger beds before, but she would always go back to a smaller bed. This Pet Bed is very plush and overstuffed, and I love the plaid print. The bed does come in another print and more sizes if you have a larger dog.
Here are a few of Lucy’s presents that Vera Bradley sent her. A huge squeaky toy bone, a Pet Bandana, a large leash, and a Pet Travel Bowl for food and water. They also sent her a Pet Waste Bag Charm that can clip onto her leash.
That’s enough about Lucy Lu, she has had her moment in the spotlight. Haha. Now, it is my turn to shine in my Ribbons Plaid fleece pullover. I honestly thought that this pullover would be something that I sent back or gave to my mom. Instead, it is something that I wear all of the time, usually with a pair of fleece-lined yoga pants that I just discovered.
I’m not usually a yoga-pant lover since I don’t like to be compressed. But, these fleece-lined yoga pants are fabulous (thanks Ashleigh for the recommendation) and I just ordered another black pair along with a navy, gray, and burgundy one. Because I don’t like to be compressed, I ordered an XL in these, and I love the way that they fit.
The fleece pullover fits me like a glove! I love the extremely soft fleece material that is just as soft after several washings. Here is a look from the back, and the length is perfect for most pants and jeans. I just ordered this pullover in the Rose Camo and Plum Pansies since those prints will look great all the way through spring. I am wearing a medium and it fits great, a little on the slim side, so take that into consideration when ordering.
Look at these jeans. Would you guess that they are pull-on jeans??? When I took them out of the bag, I kept trying to unbutton them because they looked so realistic. They have belt loops, working pockets that aren’t stitched closed, and the button looks like it is actually through a buttonhole.
I have been so impressed with these pull-on jeans, and this makes my second style in them. The first pair was the Eloise bootcut jeans, and I loved them so much that I ordered the skinny version too. Both jeans run true to size, and I am wearing a size 10 or 30, depending on how the retailer offers them.
The comfy flats that I am wearing are a pair that I’ve had for a while, but for some reason, they haven’t hit the blog. They have a memory foam footbed, so they are very comfortable. I love the unique leather detail that goes around the bottom of the shoe. I am wearing my usual size 9 and they run true to size.
If you can draw your eyes away from Lucy for a minute, you’ll see the soft fringe scarf that I added to my look. I loved the larger plaid print, and how it looked with the fleece pullover. The scarf would look great with a jacket, cardigan, or coat, and it has plenty of colors that you could pull from.
You can shop all of the pet accessories and see what works best for you and your furry companion. Warning, you might create a camera hog and get lots of slobbery kisses if you purchase any of the pet accessories. Lol!

Thank you for mentioning the fleece-lined leggings! They have thousands of great reviews on Amazon, and I just ordered them for myself and my two daughters, who are both runners and I’m sure will use them this winter. What a breadth of items you feature in your posts! I don’t know how you do it. I have been very impressed since I started reading late this past summer. I’ve ordered shirts, sweaters, pants, shoes, boots, etc. from Chico’s, Talbot’s, Nordstrom, Walmart, Kohl’s, etc.; collagen from Collagen for Her to try instead of my usual brand; two different pairs of Jag pull-on jeans, shampoo, jewelry, a purse from Vera Bradley, … the list goes on. I try to always get to items via your links, to make sure you get recognition, but sometimes end up clicking around before I go back to the first item, so I don’t know if it always works. I don’t feel guilty about buying so much after a year of working mostly at home and wearing almost exclusively pajama bottoms for my Zoom meetings, and I will be retiring (from university professor) in a year or two so want to start transitioning my wardrobe to more casual but still trendy. Retail stores in our regional malls have been closing over the past several years, accelerated by the pandemic, yet clothes were the one thing I was more hesitant to order online, and seeing you model and put together outfits really helps. I apologize for the long post, but wanted to take the opportunity to tell you how much it is appreciated.
I just ordered the Vera Bradley sporty fleece and coordinating scarf. Our temps have been high of 35-37 so I’ll get a lot of use out of it. I did size up since you said it’s narrow….thank you for the tip.
Love this outfit. The pullover looks better on you than the models!
Love the plaid top. I think that Lucy Lu should have her own dog blog. She could model little coats and booties for dogs! I don’t think she knows how much work blogging is though!
I love the plaid, it looks great on you.
So cute! I can’t show my dog or she’ll be jealous!
That plaid looks very Highlander! Ha ha!
I love the plaid shackets out this year! I have bought 3!
Cute with a shirt underneath, or worn as a jacket, if warm enough.
Macy’s had a brand on sale for 29.99 this fall! They sold out fast.
