9 Years Later: The Luxury Skincare Products I Use That Actually Work for Women Over 60

Once you hit your 50s, skincare starts feeling less like a routine and more like a mission. I know that feeling all too well! Between dryness, fine lines, and changes in firmness, we all start wondering if luxury skincare is really worth the price tag.

My Skincare Wake-Up Call

When I first started blogging at 55, seeing my face on my 28-inch computer screen daily was a wake-up call; every line and wrinkle was magnified, a testament to years of ignoring my skin. That moment pushed me to finally prioritize a high-quality regimen in February 2016. Now, over nine years later, I genuinely believe I look better than I did back then!

While drugstore brands have stepped up their game, luxury skincare often delivers higher concentrations of active ingredients, better textures, and long-term benefits that can truly transform mature skin. Let’s look at some of the best high-end products out there and what makes them stand out.

Don’t Forget the Devices

Beyond topical creams, incorporating a device can amplify your results, especially for concerns common in our 60s, like morning puffiness. The TheraFace Depuffing Wand is a perfect example of how targeted cold therapy can help. That feeling of waking up with puffy, slightly swollen eyes is often due to slow lymphatic drainage, and applying the immediate, soothing cold setting helps to constrict blood vessels and encourage the movement of excess fluid.

Used consistently, this cold treatment helps to reduce swelling and inflammation, which not only makes you look more rested but also helps the delicate skin around the eyes absorb your expensive serums more efficiently. It’s a fantastic investment in an “instant fix” that also boosts your long-term routine.

Shark FlexStyle CryoGlow LED Face Mask

Speaking of targeted tools, I am so excited about this new piece of tech that just arrived! While I haven’t had time to test it yet, the Shark FlexStyle CryoGlow LED Face Mask is the next step in advanced at-home treatment.

I ordered it because it combines several powerful therapies into one easy mask. I’m looking forward to using the Red LED Light Therapy, which is crucial for mature skin as it helps boost collagen production to address lines and density. Plus, the hands-free Cryo-Therapy promises that same instant reduction in inflammation and puffiness I love from the wand, but covering the entire face.

CurrentBody Skin Radio Frequency Device

This powerful tool uses radio frequency waves to tighten and firm the skin from within. Think of it as a non-invasive facelift at home! Plus, it boosts collagen and contours the jawline and cheek area.

  • Firms and lifts sagging skin
  • Stimulates collagen production
  • Clinically proven technology
  • Professional-grade device for at-home use

Medicube Age-R Booster Pro

This Korean beauty tool delivers that famous glass-skin glow. It combines six technologies, including microcurrent and LED, to help serums penetrate deeper and improve elasticity. Korean Beauty is all the rage right now.

  • Enhances absorption of skincare products
  • Firms and lifts skin over time
  • Promotes radiant, glass-like texture
  • Portable and easy to use at home

Dr. Dennis Gross DRx SpectraLite™ FaceWare Pro LED Light Therapy Device

This high-tech ED Light Therapy Device may look futuristic, but it delivers real results. Red and blue LED lights work together to improve collagen production, reduce wrinkles, and even calm breakouts. It’s an investment piece, but a smart one for long-term skin health.

  • Uses LED therapy to boost collagen
  • Helps reduce wrinkles and redness
  • Quick, painless 3-minute daily treatment
  • Clinically proven technology for mature skin

So, is luxury skincare worth it for women in their 60s? The answer depends on your skin goals and budget. High-end skincare often uses more advanced ingredients and technology, offering noticeable results, especially when it comes to hydration, firmness, and radiance. But consistency is the real secret.

If you love a bit of pampering and want products that make you feel and look amazing, go ahead and indulge. Just remember, healthy skin is built on daily care and consistency, whether your moisturizer costs $20 or $200.

: ) You look better today. Maybe you are like fine wine, getting better all the time.

  2. Please let us know how the Shark Red Light Therapy mask works. I’ve been tempted to order a red light mask for months now, and I would love to know if it’s worth the time and investment. Thank you, beautiful Tanya, for your fun and interesting blog that I read every morning while I sip my cup of coffee.

Thanks for the very informative post about skin care. My question is whether a person should stick to 1 line for every product (i.e., Lancome, Estee Lauder, Cllinique, etc.) or mix and match products from various product lines.

    1. I used to stick to one product line, but now I’m trying more products. There are so many great choices, I like to try as many as I can.

  4. Dorothy Kennedy says:

☺️ I think you look great and I can definitely tell you take very good care of your skin. I was thinking I have to up my skincare routine. Thanks for the post

If we’re forward looking at 18 we’ll understand that one day we’ll be 30, maybe even 40! So, I started Mary Kay’s skin care at 18.
There have been excursions into Clinique, etc., but trying to piece together was too much.
I liked the products, research and return policy so much that I became a consultant. I am my best customer.
I often have random people ask what I use to take care of my skin. Add that to a darned cut silver pixe cut and 35 pound weight loss and maintenance with Weight Watchers since 1998 and I’m looking great at 70!!

    1. I’m glad you found the products that work best for your skin. Every one is different, and our skin doesn’t react to the products in the same way. I used Mary Kay before I started using R+F, and I never saw any difference. It is all about trying something, using it consistently, and finding the best products for you.

  6. 🙂 A good moisturizer is probably the most important thing to me.

  7. Darlene Bright says:

😊 Wow! You do look better now. That’s amazing. Thanks for sharing.

  8. All these products are too expensive. There are plenty of drug store brands, also recommended by dermatologists, that don’t cost so much!!

    1. Cindy, if you followed me, which I see you don’t, then you would know that I have posts on products from all price points. I talk about drug store products, Amazon products, and luxury items as well.

  9. Sara Beck says:

Found it 🙂 You look amazing!

  10. 😊 You looked good in 2016 but even better now! Your skin shows you are taking care of it now. Keep up the good work!
