Looking For Affordable Summer Outfits? Walmart For The Win!
I’ve always thought you could look great, no matter what kind of clothing budget you are on. I have bought clothing at yard sales, thrift stores, Goodwill, and worn lots of hand me downs from cousins. Budget shouldn’t be what keeps you from looking your best. So, if you’re looking for affordable outfits, look no further. I’ve got several outfits from Walmart that you’re going to love.
Looking For Affordable Summer Outfits
Linen Blend Shorts with Smocked Waist

There is supposed to be a heat wave hit the East Coast this week. It has actually been pretty mild here with the temperatures hovering in the low 80s. Once the temps start to get above 80, I mostly live in shorts since they are so cooling. Are my legs perfect? NOPE! But, they are hot, and I’m not wearing shorts to show off my legs, I’m wearing them to stay cool.

The striped Linen Blend Shorts with Smocked Waist are so comfortable, and they are perfect for hot and humid days. I love the relaxed fit with large pockets and a drawstring smocked waist. Because navy is a neutral, these shorts would look great paired with almost any color, but I love the navy tank. I’m wearing a medium in the shorts, and they fit perfectly!

I tucked in the tank above so you could see the waist of the shorts. Most of the time, I would wear the Navy High Low Tank Top untucked because it is so flowy. It you need a tank (it comes in several colors), you’ll want to check this one out. It isn’t clingy, and the straps are wide enough to wear a normal bra. I’m wearing a medium and I have plenty of room with no lumps and bumps showing.
White Utility Cuff Shorts

I’ve seen plenty of comments from a lot of my readers that say you don’t like wearing shorts above the knee. In the heat of the summer, that goes right out the door for me. Lol! Usually, I prefer a 5″ or a 7″ pair of shorts, but the White Utility Cuff Shorts (4″) are just fine. I laughed when I looked at the photos since my legs look so long. Petite ladies, take this into consideration. Shorter shorts make your legs look longer!

I’m not sure if the pattern on the Flutter Sleeve Woven Top is fireworks, stars, or flashes of light. Either way, the top is super cute. I love the different print on the sleeves and hem that give the top more visual interest. It also has tie strings at the neckline which can be tied for a different look. I’m wearing a medium, and it is plenty big enough without looking oversized.

For those who can’t bear the idea of someone looking at their legs, I styled the top with a pair of navy Cropped Wide Leg Pants. These pants have a linen feel to them, but they are a cotton/rayon blend. These pants would look fine with any of the tops I’m styling, and are a great neutral for summer. I’m wearing my usual size 8, but if you are between sizes, you’ll want to size up since these do not have an elastic waist.
Linen Blend Shirt with Roll Cuff Sleeves

This final outfit features the same shorts as the white pair above. Have you noticed that olive is a trending color this summer? That is not a usual summer color, and I associate it with fall instead. But, I have to admit, I’ve been styling olive a lot this year, and I’m digging the change.
I wore a size 10 in the white shorts, but I’m wearing a size 8 in the Sea Turtle Utility Cuff Shorts above. Both shorts fit me fine, but I actually like the look of the size 10s the best. They look relaxed and slightly longer.

I styled a different pattern in the Linen Blend Shirt with Roll Cuff Sleeves in a post I did last week. I loved the color and pattern of that shirt, but it seemed oversized. So, I sized down to a small when I ordered this one.

As you can see, the small fits me fine, and I have plenty of room in the top. You can choose to wear the top untucked, tied at the waist, or worn open with a tank underneath. It would look great either way. Plus, I think this top would look fabulous worn with white or a pair of jeans.

Happy Sunday Tania,
I purchased this shirt in the blue leaf print along with the jeans you paired it with last week. I received so many compliments on this outfit. Plus, the jeans were a great fit. Thanks so much for styling these two together. You always find great looking outfits for us gurls! 💃
Yay!!! I’m always thrilled to hear when clothing I’ve styled works for everyone.
Love that you include more reasonable clothing finds, like at Walmart as well as the more expensive shops. And you show the items off so stylishly, that we can see they are good options at a lower price.
As an 81-year-old who enjoys color and style but am on a retirees fixed budget this is appreciated. Thank you!!
I’m so glad that you’ve noticed I try to make sure everyone can find something in their budget. We all deserve to look nice. 😊
I love all these outfits. You look great in them.
