LONGEST DAY OF THE YEAR

I was mainly just going along for the ride, planning on watching him hit. He however had other ideas. After he had hit 10 or 15 balls, he said for me to come over and hit a few. I tried to talk him out of it, with all the normal excuses. But, he was determined to see me try.
I don’t even have any clubs or shoes anymore, I gave them away years ago. He calmly handed me his driver, and said for me to go ahead and try. I really felt ridiculous, I was just sure I would not be able to even make contact. For those of you who have never played golf, it may look easy, but it is NOT. The hardest thing for me is to keep my head down and look at the ball. Sounds easy, huh? What happens is, you will raise up ever so slightly, and then your club will only hit the top of the ball, if at all. One of my greatest fears is looking stupid. I am one of those who would rather not try, if I think I will look stupid. I went ahead and set up, I actually remembered the hand grip and the stance. I mentally checked off everything I could remember to do, and then I swung. I actually made contact!!! It was not a perfect hit ball, but it was playable and I was proud as punch. I hit several more times, and only topped the ball once, so I declare my first attempt back at golf a success. Joe mentioned when we got back to the parking lot that I had hit the ball, and was going to start playing again. One of his friends immediately volunteered that he had a set of clubs he would bring me to get me started. We have the best friends!!!

I decided to wear a pair of melon colored capris with the top. I guess you call these capris, they are too long to be bermuda shorts. I wanted to wear my new Plunder necklace, and I thought the colors in the necklace went good with the shorts.

I love that top on you. It’s a beautiful color and flattering style!
I get depressed after the 4h of July because summer is almost over. In my area the kids go back to school the last week of July or the first week of August & they close the city park pool. Boo hoo.
I try to play golf twice a week…with gal pals and/or husband. We’re lucky to live on a beautiful golf course in the Pacific N.W. Soooo…I would love to see you come up with some cute golf outfits that are maybe not so traditional. I love how you put fresh, fun colors together. Keep swinging!
I love this on you. I have only one cut out shoulder and wish I had more. It is a way of showing a little skin on a part of the body that doesn’t have wrinkles or crepey skin.
I just realized today that you are growing out your asymmetrical haircut! It looks terrific! I like it both ways on you. Cold-shouldered tops are not my favorite either but this one looks beautiful on you. Very flowy! It works great with the coral pants. And I may have to go buy that necklace – it’s so pretty! Thanks for the inspiration!
I like the cold shoulder look. For those of us who want more arm coverage it gives us a chance to bare the more attractive part of those same arms. It looked good on you! It’s also fun to take part in a safer, edgier trend. Happy golfing!
I love the top! The blue color is beautiful on you and makes your eyes sparkle. I’ve tried golf and found out I can’t aim worth a darn.
I have the same cross in my back hallway- must be a Virginia thing! Love your blog
